Chapter 41. The Different Perpetrator

At night, Rendy types on her laptop. Rendy and Kanaya stay at Gilang's apartment until things improve. Initially, Kanaya refuses but Rani's grandmother looks sad when Kanaya rejects her.

"What did you say to my grandmother?" asked Gilang while offering tea to Kanaya who was sitting on the sofa, not far from Rendy.

"Many, he also discussed the issue of marriage. But I think it's too early to discuss such a matter" Kanaya said.

"You can consider what my grandmother said. She must have had a reason to talk to you." said Gilang who actually wanted to persuade Kanaya, but her grandmother told her that Kanaya seemed to refuse to marry him.

Gilang turned his gaze to look at Rendy. Both of his eyebrows suddenly clinging to the sight of Rendy's fast-moving hand pressing against the keyboard.

"Rendy's serious? Is he playing a game?" sahut Gilang instantaneously. Kanaya turned to look at her son while shifting to see what Rendy was doing.

"Don't peek, Ma. Later mama's eyes hurt again, I will get a tantrum from mama." said Rendy who realized it.

"How arrogant, I'd like to see it for a while" Kanaya replied as she continued to stare at Rendy's laptop screen.

"This isn't a cctv camera? Why do you zoom in and out of her picture? Want to edit?" kanaya asked who was confused. Rendy always makes everyone not understand what she is doing.

Gilang who heard the words Kanaya, moved the seat to the left side of Rendy while paying attention to the screen of Rendy's laptop. "Now, papa is following along" said Rendy reprimanding Gilang.

"I'm curious." replied Gilang smiling sweetly.

"Well, if you two want to know, Rendy will explain what Rendy did. First, Rendy gets a cctv video from the security officer of this apartment. After meeting the culprit earlier, Rendy felt something was wrong. That's why Rendy wanted to find out and I finally understood." said Rendy turned to the right looking at Kanaya, then turned to the left looking at Gilang.

"Understand what?" tanya Kanaya and Gilang compact.

"He's not the real culprit" Rendy said with great confidence.

"Whatchu mean? Don't make stupid conclusions. The police officer is much smarter than you are a child." Kanaya Ejek.

"I'm serious, Ma. If we look at the video, there are obviously many differences. Well, the person standing in the apartment looks so skinny, while the person sitting casually by the side of the road looks a bit fat. Not only that, their skin color looks different. If we pay attention to the hand that put the explosive device before running, it is so white. Then the person sitting on the side of the road, looked a little brown. We can see the hand holding the phone." explained Rendy at length.

"I think they both look the same. Both use a black jacket, use a black hat, even the watch in his hand is also the same. Then the color of his skin is not visible because they cover all of him. If you're thin and fat, you can't be sure. They wear jackets, which look to make his body big. So there is nothing wrong with my conclusion." denied Kanaya who issued his opinion.

"Because that's why mama is stupid, can be deceived easily. Next time, learn from me, Ma." alluded to Rendy who was upset because Kanaya did not want to believe or support her opinion.

"Did you say little boy?" kanaya shouted, looking at Rendy sharply, wanting to get back into a fight with Rendy.

"Here you go, I'll just go to bed. You two can't be counted on." said Kanaya in a slow voice, feeling defeated by Rendy because Gilang sided with his son.

"Good night, Ma." shouted Rendy giving a speech to Kanaya before her mother went to sleep. After that, Rendy went back to watching the cttv recording.

"Since when have you been so smart? Even things like this you can know. Did Kanaya teach you?" tanya Gilang stared fixedly at Rendy.

"No. I taught myself, maybe because my brain IQ was higher so everything felt easy in front of my eyes" said Rendy.

"That's great. I have also been dealing with criminals since childhood until my parents decided to take me abroad. I was safer there and after growing up, I went back and managed my family business that had been left behind. Although it is not easy, I continue to struggle to rely on myself." explains Gilang who is now confiding with his son.

"Papa looks like crying, is it because of the reflection of my laptop screen? Papa should rest first, later if my work is done I will also go to sleep." Rendy's curd while saying sweet.

Gilang smiled without him noticing a kiss landing on his cheek. "Good night, papa." said Rendy.

"Alright, good night is also your best son" Gilang said as he gave Rendy a kiss back. Gilang then rushed into his room, resting quietly.

"I'd better find out this guy. After he put down the explosive device, he went down the stairs. Then on the second floor, he entered the elevator to the ground floor. There is still something stuck, why did he choose to go down to the elevator when he was on the second floor? Should he have stayed down the stairs to be safe?" ask Rendy to herself.

"Then, the cctv died on the ground floor. I can't be sure where he went after that. And the person who was the suspect showed up on the side of the road when everyone started to stir. The amount of time he used after exiting the elevator was 10 minutes. This is enough to escape."

As Rendy was busy thinking, a message came in on her phone. Apparently from Gilang. Rendy's face became shocked to see the name of the sender of the message.

"Papa must be stressed thinking about it too. Poor thing, I have to help papa" Rendy said as she closed her laptop screen. He then walked towards Gilang's room, peered over the door that opened a little and saw Gilang busy typing on his laptop as well. Gilang apparently did not rest, but he was also thinking about the case that overflowed him.

After peeking, Rendy closed the door of Gilang's room slowly then went towards Kanaya's room which was beside Gilang's room.

"Mama is asleep, she must be very tired of worrying about me" said Rendy who looked at the face of Kanaya who was asleep in her sleep.

"May sleep, Ma. Rendy is very sorry with mama." said Rendy then pulled the blanket to be able to wrap Kanaya's body. He lies down near Kanaya, closing his eyes and preparing for sleep.

"Hopefully tomorrow I can start an investigation" Rendy said in a slow voice before returning to dreamland.
