Pointed Ears, Cat Tails?! #124

Arcadia, a region that is really beautiful and soothing even under the hot sun. Altezza along with his colleagues walked through several small hills above which were made into agricultural fields by the locals. Along the way he and his three friends did not see anyone around the location, the atmosphere seemed quiet and calm.

"There's something strange, it shouldn't be quiet like this," Eugene said, looking most knowledgeable about the location.

"They light a fire at the top of the village tower!" exclaim Alaia who has been a few steps ahead, and stand on the top of one of the hills while pointing towards the lake and the countryside that is visible from above.

Altezza, Eugene, and Aaron are now near Alaia. The four of them looked at a remote countryside, a lakefront village, and the tallest wooden tower in the village was lit by fire. This certainly invites various assumptions Altezza and his colleagues when they saw the top of the tower was burned.

"Is something going on there?" ask Aaron.

"Could there be a local customary event going on?" Alaia.

Eugene shook his head and said, "the use of the tower is like a bell tower in kingdoms, which is used as a warning sign of imminent danger if the bell is rung."

"Then if the tower is on fire, it means the same as the bells that ring?" gumam Altezza.

"But what danger is approaching? So far we have not seen or felt anything strange" said Alaia, then turned her gaze in the other direction, looking at the quiet situation of nature around her.

"The only way we can get the answer is to get closer to the village" Aaron said.

Agreeing with Aaron's decision, the four of them immediately continued to walk, down the hills and approached the village they had seen from a distance earlier. Very quiet, there were no people to see when Altezza and his friends approached the village, even the wooden village gate seemed to be tightly closed.

But the steps of Altezza and his three friends stopped immediately, forced to stop by an arrow that suddenly shot towards them, and stuck on the ground right in front of the feet of the four of them. A moment later came the voice of the middle-aged man who shouted from behind the gate and asked, "who are you?! Why did you get here?!"

Staring at each other, that was what the group of wanderers did with shocked expressions mixed in confusion. Aaron took one step forward and replied, "we wanderers are about to pass through the Arcadia Region."

The wooden gate opened, and a white-haired blonde man stood with a bow in one hand. The man's gaze was sharp in light blue, staring at the alert of the four wanderers who were before him.

Altezza looked fixated, especially when he saw the characteristics that he thought seemed strange to the man. The two earlobes belonging to the man before him had pointed tips upward, and were very different from the normally-added human Altezza had never seen anything like it before.

"Didn't you see the omen on the tower behind me?" asked the man staring intently at the four wanderers standing at the village gate.

"We saw it, but we didn't understand what was really going on, so we decided to go to this village" Aaron replied, visibly more vocal than his friends.

Look at them one by one, from head to toe. The blond man with both ears taper off and then moved quickly to the back of the four wanderers saying, "get in!" with a watchful gaze out toward the outside of the gate.

"Where are the people? Why is it so quiet during the day like this?" cetus Alaia asked with a view that seemed unable to stand still, looking at the simple wooden houses around him that seemed closed and quiet.

Altezza's glance was fixed on a shop at the end of the fork in front, and saw the shadow of the person hiding behind the window, "what are you hiding from?" tanyakanya.

Finished close tightly even to lock the wooden gate using an iron chain. The blonde-haired man walked through the four travelers while answering their questions, "you will find it hard to understand if I explain it here, then follow me, at least we're not talking near the gate ...!" her door.

Walking following the blond and pointy-eared man. Altezza and his three companions walked through the streets of the village land which was very quiet. The villagers hid inside their houses, not wanting to be seen. Most of them seemed to just peek out from behind the curtains and windows of their houses to see the presence of a group of nomads who came to their village.

Several times Altezza saw various uniqueness in the village that he had just visited for the first time. His two eyes caught the unique and strange figures of some villagers, whom he had never seen or met before. They are the same as humans, but have body traits that are slightly different from humans in general.

"Come in, take it easy, we are actually quite warmly welcoming to the presence of travelers, really! It's just that you came in a bad situation" the blond man said as he reached the tavern, and opened the door of the tavern made of wood.

"Welcome" said a girl with a very gentle and warm attitude and intonation.

Inside the tavern, a group of wanderers are welcomed by a beautiful gray-haired maiden dressed in waitresses. But both of Altezza's eyes were stunned and amazed at what was currently standing before him. A beautiful girl with cat-like ears on her head, and an ash-coloured cat tail on the back. The embodiment that he could only imagine through the fairy tale books that his mother read before going to bed, now the embodiment actually stood up and smiled at him right in front of his eyes.

"Altezza, come sit down! Don't be dumb!" alaia whispered to Altezza to pull one of the men's hands to sit at one of the tavern tables.

"Emily, get our guests a drink, yeah ...!" said the blond man with good intonation to the servant girl.

The cat-eared and tailed servant girl lowered her head, smiled and said, "well, drinks will be here soon ...!" with soft and friendly intonation.

"You guys wait a minute here, yeah ...! I wanted to take something first," continued the blond man, then headed towards the second floor through the stairs at the back end of the tavern.

While waiting, a light and brief conversation between a group of travelers was intertwined.

"What's up, Altezza? Your face looks strange, like someone who has just seen a miracle" said Aaron, who sat in front of Altezza.

"There's nothing" said Altezza, smiling, "it's just that I've just seen something like them" he continued in low intonation.

Eugene smiled broadly and spoke, "oh yes, I haven't told you that this region is not only inhabited by ordinary humans like us."

"Some people are talking, Aaron is cutting, anyway!" eugene was visibly upset when he recalled what Aaron had done to him some time before.

Aaron only chuckled at this, as well as Alaia who also laughed even though the girl did not seem to really understand what was being discussed.
