The Story of the Wind Wanderer

The Story of the Wind Wanderer
Dueling #48

"There's no need to explain the rules, because as final students you should already know. The most important thing is to stop the attack and neutralize the magic if your opponent has given the code to surrender!" the female instructor spoke out loudly between the two students who were in the middle of the field.

The instructor slowly began to step back to the edge of the field, looking at the two students who seemed to be ready in their respective positions, and then shouted out loudly, "well, well, the trial duel this morning began!"

The two students immediately began to recap their spells. The student in black uniform drew his staff forward, making the student in white uniform a target while chanting a spell. But different, students in white uniforms actually silent for a moment to focus on tearing.

Altezza, Welt, and their three best friend prince guests both saw a duel that was about to begin. Test duels like this have become a natural thing, and are usually done in the final exams of students, even duels like this also have competitions or performances that usually become a competition between kingdoms.

The black staff belonging to the black uniformed student seemed to create an extremely dense dark purple-colored light, before then the light shot out very quickly towards the white uniformed student. But the white uniformed student quickly stomped his staff to the ground, and in just a fraction of a second he created a circle of barriers or protectors that glowed golden yellow. The collision was inevitable, the purple light hit the barrier or shield created, and instantly made an explosion powerful enough to create a thick puff of black smoke.

From behind the still thick black smoke, a golden-yellow light suddenly shot out, aiming at the black-uniformed student very quickly. It has no chance to create a shield or barrier that can counteract the attack. The black uniformed student used the same spell, created a purple-colored light in a five-angle star pattern on the end of his wand, and then used it to create a collision between the two attacks.

The explosion occurred immediately again due to the impact of the two attacks that collided with each other, even the field used until destroyed to create a crater basin that is quite large.

The students who watched the duel take place from the edge of the field, they seemed amazed to see everything that happened. Similarly, the facial expressions of Azura, Xavier, and Cedric who also stared in admiration when watching the duel take place. But unfortunately it did not apply to Altezza who was not expression at all, flat watching how the duel took place. Welt who noticed it while standing next to his sister only smiled faintly looking at that mediocre expression.

"Are they among the best students in the academy?" chirper Altezza asked Welt who was standing beside him.

"They are both ranked fifth and sixth out of the overall students in the academy" Welt replied.

Altezza glanced at his older brother and said, "i think you should continue forging them, with such strength I don't think they are ready to face a class opponent of inter-kingdom magic competition."

Welt was not surprised if Altezza would comment spicy enough for both students of the academy. In the eyes of the other students, the royal-level mages, and the commoners when looking at the ongoing duel would probably stare in admiration. However, Welt considered Altezza's flat expression to be natural, as he himself admitted that Altezza was already far different from the class with the best students of the academy, even the entire royal academy.

The duel still continued, but it became a less exciting spectacle for Altezza, until finally the duel was finished without anyone winning or losing which meant a series from both sides. The female instructor who was the referee in the duel also ended the duel by inviting both sides to bow their heads as a sign of respect for each other, before finally he cleared the field. Applause rang out from the students watching throughout the duel from the edge of the field, as well as the three visiting princes standing next to Welt. Altezza also applauded to appreciate the duel that had been completed.

But in the midst of that applause. Suddenly a student in a light blue white uniform approached Altezza from behind and then said, "may I challenge you to a duel with me, Your Majesty?"

Welt was surprised by the invitation, as were Azura and his two companions. Not only them, but the students who heard it were also shocked, watching a student in a white uniform in light blue suddenly challenge the duel of the second prince of Zephyra Kingdom. Instantly all the attention of the people on the edge of the field was on Altezza and the students who challenged him.

"Do you want to take it?" welt asked, glancing at Altezza who appeared to be smiling faintly, showing an expression of interest, "he is ranked second best in the academy," he continued.

"Well, I accept your challenge ...!" sahut Altezza without thinking anymore, answered the invitation thrown by the student to him.

Altezza walked into the middle of the field, facing off against another white uniformed student who suddenly made a plea and challenge to him. The presence of the king's youngest son or the second prince immediately became the center of attention of almost the entire academy. There were even many students in the back building until they opened their classroom windows just to look. Almost all the windows of the second and third floors of the building were filled with students who wanted to see.

"His Highness the Prince is going to duel?"

"Your Majesty!"

"Cool ...!"

The cheers were dominated by the academy's students when they saw the figure of the second prince standing in the middle of the field. Altezza had turned to the windows of the second and third floors of the building, but it seems that what he did was even more hysterical for the students who saw it.

"Y!! Your Majesty saw me!"

"No! The truth is he's looking at me, you know!"

Altezza just sighed, complaining how noisy the girls were exclaiming to yell at him. Welt just smiled, as did Azura, Xavier, and Cedric.

"It looks like we're losing popularity with Altezza" Cedric smiled.

"Not since before?" sahut Xavier then chuckled.

"Well, for the rules I don't need to explain, you should already know." The instructor again stood between the two duel participants, and spoke to them.

"It is an honor for me to have the experience of dueling with you, Your Majesty." The man in white uniform spoke, lowered his head and smiled happily at Altezza.

"What's your name?" altezza asked, standing about 20 meters in front of him.

"Ray, Your Majesty." The young man answered Altezza's question.

Altezza smiled faintly before then saying, "Ray, don't hold yourself back, I want to see how great a second-ranked student is!"

Ray smiled faintly, stared intently at Altezza and then immediately answered the challenge, "happy, Your Majesty."
