The Story of the Wind Wanderer

The Story of the Wind Wanderer
A reason? The goal? #55

At night, still on the same day. In keeping with the promise made by Altezza himself, the young prince met his loyal bodyguard in his study. In accordance with the promise he had made, the prince intended to answer and provide clarity on the purpose behind his orders to Kenan to gather information about the registration of adventurers in the adventurer guild. Not only that, Altezza also intends to see Kenan's reaction and response regarding the decision he is likely to make in the near future.

Kenan came alone, facing Altezza sitting at his desk. When his personal knight arrived, the young prince immediately told Kenan to sit back and relax on a long, red sofa.

"I want to talk relaxed, no need to be too formal" said Altezza, standing up from his chair, and then leaning against the large window that was right behind his desk. A view of the palace's backyard as seen from above where it is located.

"I wanted to ask you before" continued Altezza, facing and looking out the window, without looking at Kenan who was sitting on the sofa of his room.

"Please, Your Majesty. What do you want to ask me?" said Kenan, take off his sword hanging from his belt, and then put it right next to the sofa.

Altezza did not turn his head or glance at Kenan who was sitting on the sofa, still with his eyes out the window, looking at the dim atmosphere of the backyard of his favorite palace.

"If I decide to go away for a while, what will you do?" cetus the young prince, speaking with a flat intonation.

Surprised and confused by this question. Kenan immediately stood up from the long sofa, and then immediately refuted, "what do you mean, Your Majesty? Sorry, I don't really understand."

"Just answer! What are you gonna do, Kenan?" sahut Altezza, slightly turned his head and glanced at Kenan who was standing right behind him.

"I'll come with you! In any case I have been appointed by His Majesty the King and His Majesty the Queen to be your personal knight, so I cannot be far from you, Your Majesty." Kenan answered the question very straightforwardly, without stammering, and with a serious look.

Not surprised by Kenan's reaction, and had expected the knight would give him the answer. Altezza turned his head, looked intently at Kenan and then asked again, "what if I don't allow you? Or the King and Queen who didn't give that permission?"

"Why? Why don't you let me? And why didn't His Majesty and His Majesty the Queen grant such permission?" said Kenan, throwing the question back to Altezza, "Your Majesty, I'm sorry if I was presumptuous, but you look strange today," he continued, staring confusedly at Altezza with questions in his mind.

Altezza looked out the window again, and seemed to put on a indifferent attitude towards the question that was suddenly thrown back at him. The atmosphere was silent for a moment, and Kenan was still standing behind him, staring at him a disappointed and confused face.

"I've decided to achieve my dream since childhood: to be a traveler, to travel to places and countries out there, and to visit places I've never known." Altezza spoke calmly, breaking the silence.

"You're not kidding, are you?" sahut Kenan, make sure of that.

"Then, what was the response of His Majesty the King and His Majesty the Queen?" sahut Kenan, asked again.

Altezza shook his head and said, "i haven't spoken to them about this, but I can confirm that Queen Caitlyn will approve my decision."

"Your Majesty, what did your people say when they found out one of their princes was traveling? You know your decision will give rise to a variety of public assumptions, right?"

"In addition, you must know that your position is the prince of this country, and have various duties and responsibilities. You also know there are a lot of bad people out there who don't like important people like you."

Kenan spoke these things to Altezza. All the things that were spoken of were of course already thought of by Altezza himself. The prince turned around, looked at his loyal bodyguard before then speaking, "i know all the risks involved, and I will immediately discuss this with the King and Queen."

"Why do you want to be a traveler so much? And am I not allowed to accompany you wherever you go?" sahut Kenan, staring at the prince in front of him without an angry expression but sad because the prince made an unexpected decision.

"Because I want it," replied Altezza, smiling slightly at his loyal bodyguard, before turning back to look out the window and saying, "you may call me selfish or whatever, but I will still pursue what has been my dream since childhood, get out of this fortress and kingdom so that I can travel freely wherever I want."

"I don't allow you, because I need someone I can trust for the palace and the kingdom" continued Altezza, answering Kenan's second question about his permission to travel. The man in the prince's white uniform seemed to be worried about his home and his homeland when he left.

"The kingdom of Zephyra will be fine even without me, Your Majesty. Therefore, please allow me to come with you if indeed you decide to travel later ...!" kenan said, really begging the Altezza.

It came to Altezza's mind about the experience of traveling that he did not have at all, and inviting someone who can accompany or accompany him seemed like a good idea. But the man did not immediately decide, and chose to say, "i'll think about it again" to Kenan.

As if getting a glimmer of hope about the permit, Kenan seemed to smile a little when he heard Altezza would think about the decision to invite himself or not. But everything that Altezza said throughout the conversation still seems not enough to make Kenan satisfied, because he has not heard about the reason and purpose of the prince wanted to travel.

"However, Your Majesty. May I know what your reasons and goals are for wanting to travel other than to pursue your dreams?" cetus Kenan, looked at the curious prince who was still standing his back to him.

Altezza sighed and was confused, silent for a moment to hear the question, before he finally spoke, "reason, yes ...?" he muttered then chuckled and continued saying, "freedom, knowledge, and experience. Maybe those three things are the reason I am traveling for now, and do not rule out the possibility that I will change or add them," he said while looking at the night sky that does not look bright, but did not look bright, it is dark without the slightest light from the moon or stars.

"Then for the purpose, I myself do not want to be too decisive before really traveling, and let the experience and the journey that determines the purpose for me," continued Altezza, continued, the truth is not so understood by Kenan when he heard the answer to that goal.
