26 Misunderstandings
The people at Barker's house are currently restless, time has shown at 5pm but Jean has not returned.
"Merrill why is Jean so long? Did something happen?" Mrs Barker looked worried.
"Madam I don't know either, Miss Jean very rarely comes home at night, it could be that Miss Jean is currently being held by Adam so think positively so as not to trigger the lady's heart disease." Merril is trying to calm Mrs Barker down.
"Can't we just go to the shelter base?" Mr. Barker understood that something was indeed happening, he had heard the screams of the people outside even he heard the sound of continuous explosions outside.
"This master is dangerous, none of us are capable users of the same level as Miss Jean, you be patient." Randalf.
On the side of the base the atmosphere was not yet conducive, some ability users were injured and even died from zombie resistance. Jean is currently faced with a land-powered zombie, she avoids zombie attacks as well as attacks.
"Fast finish before evening!" Lane once again gave the order, at night they would be severely harmed by lack of vision.
Seeing Jean who looked tired made Adam a little worried, he then helped get rid of the land's zombie abilities.
"Are you okay?" Adam asked.
"I'm fine, focus on your battle." Jean knows that Adam is fighting the only level 5 zombie, so she doesn't want to make Adam lose his focus.
"It's okay, I'll be done soon." Adam again continues his fight with a level 5 zombie that has the ability of water, the ability is very opposite to Adam's fire ability.
Adam attacked the zombie vital point with his martial arts so that the zombie roared furiously and unleashed a special ability, which is the ability to raise the ability one level from its original level. The zombie immediately mustered 5 meters of water to sweep Adam away.
As the water was about to reach Adam, Lane came and immediately froze the water. Jean was relieved to see it, she almost shouted and rushed to save Adam.
"Hurry away! I can only hold it for a while!" Shouting Lane. Lane's ability level difference with zombies is quite large, Lane just touched level 3 at this time.
Adam and the others immediately fled. Lane's ice then cracked and water instantly swept the area about 10 meters away, the other soldiers immediately shuddered in horror at the ability of the zombie.
"Adam can't you attack him?" Lane asked while frowning.
"It's not hard, that zombie was able to withstand my fire attack." Answer Adam.
"I think we should work together. I'm gonna freeze those zombie legs, Jean you're gonna knock that zombie out with lightning and Adam you're gonna attack when that zombie's off guard." Lane made a plan.
Lane, Jean and Adam immediately carry out their attack. Lane freezes the zombie's legs until the zombie is unable to move at all.
"Jean hurry!" Lane seems to be holding back with his full strength while freezing the zombie water attack. Jean immediately pulled out four lightning bolts and grabbed the zombie's head, roaring furiously and trying to escape Lane's ice. Jean did not give up, he continued to grab zombies until finally the zombie stopped exerting its ability due to lightning that managed to weaken the zombie muscle.
"Adam!" Call Lane. Adam exerted his fire ability and burned the body of the zombie slowly, immediately the zombie was burned to ashes and left a purple-colored crystal core.
The soldiers who were around immediately cheered seeing Lane and the others manage to kill the level 5 zombies, without them noticing a zombie managed to escape their sight and climb the base barrier.
Olivia is very worried about Lane's situation, she climbs the base barrier bravely, the army is very busy and does not pay attention to Olivia's whereabouts. Emma sees Olivia climbing the barrier, she then follows Olivia.
"What are you doing?" Olivia stared at Emma unhappily, she had no idea what other tricks Emma would play.
"Whatever you try, Lane won't pay attention to you." This time Emma bravely provokes Olivia after learning that Lane hates this woman so much.
"You!!!" Olivia is furious, she finally sees Emma's real personality.
"Gee!!" Emma suddenly looked frightened and her eyes looked surprised from behind Olivia, Olivia then followed Emma's gaze and found a zombie climbing the barrier behind her.
Lane and the others immediately turned to the base, they saw Olivia and Emma standing at the barrier and a zombie that almost managed to climb the barrier.
Olivia looked frightened and immediately retreated, unconsciously holding Emma's arm tightly.
"What are you doing?!! Release my hand!!" Emma felt a lot of pain and wanted to let go of Olivia's grasp.
In Lane's view, Olivia seems to be deliberately holding Emma with her, so Lane is very angry to see the incident.
"Damn it!!!" Lane is furious to see Olivia leaving Emma, she rushes to the barrier to save Emma. Jean also did not stay silent, she ran towards the base.
After successfully releasing Olivia's grip, Emma was relieved but she remembered that there were zombies climbing the barrier, Emma was again frightened to see the zombie had managed to climb and stand on the barrier.
The zombie runs towards Emma, Emma shouts in fear and Lane manages to create an ice shield that protects Emma's body from the zombie claw. The zombie is aware of the danger and immediately jumps from the barrier to enter the base.
The refugees had escaped from the surrounding area, but some unlucky people were successfully eaten by the wandering zombies. Jean goes after the zombie and instantly kills the zombie that is eating the less fortunate refugees.
"Are you okay?" Lane approached Emma. Seeing Emma not answering worries Lane, she then sees a scar on Emma's hand from Olivia's sharp fingernails. Lane holds Emma still crying in fear and enters the medical room, she is afraid Emma is hurt.
Jean searches for Olivia's whereabouts and finds Olivia, who is currently seen lying in pain from a fall from a 5-meter high barrier.
"Joe, please help me carry Olivia!" Jean asks Joe for help. Olivia is then rushed to the medical room for treatment and happens to be lying next to Emma's bed.
Lane returns to the medical room after successfully controlling the condition of the base. He then looked at someone he did not want to meet at all.
"I thought I'd warned you to stop bothering Emma but you're still the same as you used to be, always hurting other people!!!" Lane was furious.
"I didn't mean it that way." Olivia tried to explain, her voice was very weak due to falling and enduring the pain.
"I don't need your explanation! You really don't appreciate my patience, did you know that I always dreamed of strangling your neck like this?!" Lane stares at Olivia coldly and strangles Olivia's neck, struggling to get Lane's hand off her neck.
Emma pretends to be asleep and naturally hears Olivia and Lane's conversation, this time she feels very happy that she has managed to take Lane's heart.
"Lane let Olivia go!!" Jean is so shocked to see Lane strangling Olivia's neck, she doesn't expect Lane's hatred to be so great.
Seeing Lane unwilling to hear makes Jean angry, Jean then pulls Lane's hand from Olivia's neck and beats Lane's face and does not intend to hold her power.
"Conscious Lane!! Do you want to kill a woman who has no resistance at all!!" Jean scolds Lane.
"Don't let me see it again! Next time I'll kill him!!" Lane did not feel guilty at all, he then walked out of the room which made him stuffy.
After Lane leaves, Olivia cries. She doesn't expect that Lane has any intention of killing her, she should have listened to Jean's advice and ignored Lane.
"Calm down, don't let your eyes cry for a blind man like Lane." Jean tried to comfort Olivia.
"Help me pack my things John, I'll move out tonight." Olivia has already made her decision, if Jean doesn't save herself today, she might actually be killed by Lane.
"Where are you moving?" Jean's heart felt the pain that Olivia was experiencing.
"I-I don't know, if I'm lucky maybe I'll get a ride to a base in another town." Olivia replied in a daze, she herself has no purpose.
"Are you sure?" Jean cannot bear to see Olivia walking towards her tragic fate.
"I'm sure I can't stay here anymore." Olivia's decision is unanimous.
"I actually have an idea but I don't know if you want it or not."
"What's that?" Olivia was curious about the idea that Jean meant. Jean immediately explains her idea to bring Olivia to her house, after getting to know Olivia, Jean feels Olivia is not as bad as what the novel describes.
"Is it okay?" Olivia's face flushed red, she felt Jean's treatment was very special for her, she didn't know why Jean treated her so well.
"Sure but I have conditions." Jean is unaware of Olivia's disorder.
"What's that?" Olivia thinks that Jean will force her to become a lover?
"You'll know later." Jean didn't mean to mention her secret in front of the female protagonist who was pretending to be asleep.
