38. Plan

Adam felt a little tired of calming the refugees who had depended on the comfort of the base.

"We do not accept that officials who do not contribute are also paid by the base!!!" One of Lane's men finally spoke in the crowd.

"Yes that's right!!"

"You guys are free from officials who did not contribute but we were abandoned!!!"

Lane looked at everything with satisfaction, his propaganda managed to make the refugees feel the city officials J too greedy.

"You!!!" Gordon stared at the refugees angrily, he felt a little threatened by his position as an official.

"Greedy official!!" Refugees hurl rocks at Gordon's group, the ability users Gordon hires to quickly protect Gordon and other officials.

The atmosphere is back in chaos, refugees continue to throw objects at Gordon despite knowing that it is useless.

"Why don't you two talk to win the crowd?!!" Gordon looked at Lane and Adam who still looked calm.

"What do we have to do? We have no reason to argue against them." Lane smiled at Gordon.

"This is your plan!?" Gordon was angry, he finally knew this was a prepared opportunity to get rid of their influence on the base.

Lane is no longer avenging Gordon, he's busy dealing with refugees.

Emma intends to search for Lane and Adam but he is caught in the middle of an angry crowd, Emma is forced to rush and must penetrate the crowd that seems impossible to penetrate.

"Isn't this her lover the leader?" One of the refugees recognized Emma.

Refugee eyes suddenly diverted towards Emma who was standing in the crowd, Emma was frightened when she saw the many hateful looks that were pointing at her.

One of the refugees pulled out a kitchen knife and ran towards Emma, the other refugees paving the way and had no intention of saving Emma at all.

Seeing this makes Emma panic and try to find a way out, but she has been surrounded because refugees deliberately cover the exit.

Emma was eventually caught with a knife that led to her neck.

"If you don't want to give us food supplies then we will kill this woman!!" The man threatened.

"Just try it." Adam was still calm, he was not afraid of the men's threat.

"Help me." Emma tries to ask Adam for help, as for Lane she has been busy elsewhere so as not to witness Emma being almost threatened with being killed.

"You-you!" The man looked at Adam in disbelief.

"Let me kill this woman!!" One of the women grabbed a knife by force and pointed it at Emma's body.

Before the woman managed to stab the knife, Adam first kicked her mercilessly.

Emma prepares to be killed but it turns out that Adam saved her, she thinks Adam will not care about her but she is wrong.

Seeing the valiant Adam made Emma fall asleep and forget the previous events, but she then came to her senses and thought of a way to tempt Adam.

Emma immediately ran in fear towards Adam and intended to fall unconscious, so that Adam would come to greet his body.

Emma closed her eyes and dropped her body pretending, but she hit the ground instead.

Adam immediately distanced himself from Emma, he did not care about Emma's circumstances.

Emma felt a pain in her body and had the urge to scold Adam, she was a little hesitant to open her eyes, so she could only bully her teeth and hold on to the position lying on the ground.

"Damma!!" Lane sees Emma lying unconscious on the ground, she is deeply worried after Joe runs hastily into her position to see Emma threatened by refugees.

Lane quickly holds Emma's body, pretending to be unconscious, and brings her back into the building.

Adam tackles the crowd alone, seeing the refugees unwilling to reconcile gives Adam a headache and resort to violence.

Adam ignited his fire around the building to avoid the mob trying to damage his property, some refugees who did not know the fire was dangerous burned to ashes in the blink of an eye.

Gordon and other officials are out of the building in a threatened position, the ability users they have rented are almost out of energy to protect them.

"Blog!!!" Gordon is really angry, he can't go back inside the building because Adam used his ability to protect the building.

"Are we going to stay here?" Another official asked Gordon.

"We'll get out of here, we might lose this time but we'll get back to retaliating later! Just look!" Gordon stared at the building with hate.

Gordon then decided to go with the other officials to another shelter base.

Adam and Lane were exhausted and relieved after seeing the masses they were finally able to handle, almost all the soldiers also fell from the exhaustion of protecting outside as well as in the base.

"I'll retreat next time if you involve me once again." Adam felt deterred at the same time felt bad with the experience of handling the protesters.

"Not going to happen the same thing in the future." Lane was sitting on the ground.

In fact, only one-third of the refugees do not accept the new rules, and most of them are people without the ability so they should be able to handle this problem easily, but the army of half had been divided to guard the outside of the base so that the base would not be attacked by zombies when they launched their plan.

Adam and Lane are smoking cigarettes, watching one by one soldiers catch people who could potentially trigger a riot, most of them overly desperate people and thugs who thrive on the base, so they included killing two birds with one stone.

"What's wrong? Do you miss him?" Lane is also shocked to hear Adam mention Jean by name.

"I hope he's okay."

"She's gonna be fine, I just first felt the blow of a woman other than my sister, she's a tough woman." Lane feels nostalgic for her sister and feels Jean has a similar character to her brother.

"Why? You miss Sarah?" Adam also knew Sarah who was three years older than Lane.

"He must be very busy in the capital to help my father there, so I don't expect to see him anytime soon."

"I know you're actually afraid of getting beaten up by Sarah, you must be happy because she's not here." Adam made fun of Lane.

"Where is it possible." Lane is reluctant to admit it, but she is actually afraid of Sarah's explosive personality, she can't imagine if Sarah is reunited with Emma.

"Captain, Emma's conscious." Barnett reported to Lane.

"I'll go first." Lane pats Adam on the shoulder and goes to meet Emma.

The smile on Adam's face faded after Lane left, he really did not expect that Emma would dare to have any thoughts about him, she suddenly missed Jean's figure.

On the other hand, Jean returns to Roswell's house uninterrupted with Lexie's body on her back.

"Lexie???" Roswell was shocked to see a pale, unconscious Lexie on Jean's back. Jean immediately lowered Lexie's body onto the sofa from her back.

"Lexie?!" Abby is surprised to see Lexie who has been lying on the sofa, Raul also runs towards Lexie and checks the body temperature on the forehead.

"Roswell we need another cure, Lexie can barely survive if I don't find her tonight."

"OK I'll take the cure soon." Roswell then went to look for the rest of the medicine Finn was taking.

"Why is it like this? Where did you find him??" Raul looks at his son in worry, he can't imagine if Jean doesn't find Lexie.

"This might anger you two, but this is the reality I got..." Jean explains how she was able to find Lexie and the conspiracy behind it.

"I told you they must have deliberately made our son sick!! I should have been suspicious from the start!" Raul's face flushed red from his overflowing emotions.

"Then what about the others? Did you not help them?" Abby looks pale, she is terrified when she hears the picture Jean gives of how children are made into food by the leader of the base.

"I'll help them later, maybe tonight's gonna be a little messy and I'm planning your move to town J with me."

After she finishes returning Lexie, Jean rushes to her rental home and gathers her group together.

"Bos what's wrong? Did something happen?" Raes wondered why Jean had gathered them.

"Yes I found a serious problem, we may be going back to town J tomorrow."

Seeing Jean bring a gloomy atmosphere made them a little afraid, what could make Jean so angry?

"Did you find my wife?" Rolland asked expectantly.

"No." Jean lowered her head, she actually did not dare to tell Rolland the truth.

"Then where is he??" Rolland looked panicked, as for Jean he had fallen silent and did not respond to Rolland's question.

"Then what's our plan?" Olivia asked, she knew that this was not a good thing that Rolland could accept.

"I'll destroy this base!" Jean's voice sounded so firm that it made them all turn away in shock, did they just misheard??

"Boss, instead of me wanting to hinder you but the number of ability users here are more than a dozen people, plus Arthur who is the strongest ability, I'm afraid we'll be buried here tonight." Nielsen wanted Jean to think clearly.

"I don't mean for you to help me, I can solve everything by myself, as for Arthur, I'll try to negotiate with him."

"There's no way he's gonna help! he had sided with this base from the very beginning! I don't know what this base gives me so he won't even save my wife!" Rolland feels Jean made a joke by bringing Arthur into their plan.

"We're just kids so don't argue." Edwin whispered to his group.

Liam who heard the whisper looked at Edwin with disdain.

Edwin: "..."

Was he wrong just now?

"There's no harm in trying to discuss with Arthur, I'm sure he's not involved in this base issue." Jean is having a headache, he has speculated that Rolland would not agree easily.

"As for you guys, I'm not helping if Arthur was involved, after all I was nobody in this group from the start." Rolland left angrily, his hatred for Arthur as great as his hatred for this base.

The atmosphere in the living room became awkward after Rolland left, while Jean tapped the table with her finger thinking of a plan to overthrow the base leader.

"Boss we'll both help you." Jeff took the initiative to break the silence in the living room. Jeff and Nielsen felt they should thank Jean for not killing them.

"As far as you are." Jean nodded in agreement, she also needed other manpower to help herself.

Had Adam been here, he might have been able to burn this base easily to ashes.

Jean regained her senses by shaking her head, she seemed too hopeful that Adam could help her.
