31. Foreign man

After going through many detours, they finally reached Jean's current destination.

"It looks like I saw something thrown in the sky, did you guys see it?" Edwin asked.

"really? I didn't see it, it could be an illusion. Who can throw something in the sky?" Reply Nara.

"But I really saw it, look up, I saw it again!" The five of them tried to look up at the sky through the side window of the car.

"That thing seems to lead here." Davin.

"Hurry and stop the car!!" Anthony glared in shock, the thing seemed like it was about to fall on their car. Davin stopped the car suddenly until the bodies of the five of them were pushed forward.

"Damn it! What is that thing?!" Davin cursed furiously. The five of them then got out of the car to check what was thrown.

Jean stops her car after seeing someone who seems to be thrown at them.

"I-this??" The five high school students were shocked and horrified after seeing the object they noticed turned out to be a man.

"It looks like the ability user did it." Jean said after looking at the man while propping up his chin.

"Are we going to continue our journey?" Edwin asked fearfully.

"Of course, the village I'm heading to is right in front of us." Jean felt she had to go secretly to inspect the village.

"But it's too dangerous." Nara wanted to stop their journey especially after seeing the man who looked to have died in front of them.

"If you don't go then just go, I never ask you to come." Jean didn't mind if they left, instead it was better because she didn't have to worry about outsiders. The five of them looked hesitant.

"This man is still alive just dying, his ribs and arm bones are also broken as a result of protecting his head, he was very lucky for protecting his head but he was also pitiful because he would die slowly from the pain." Jean explained after looking at the man's condition carefully, of course with a system that secretly helps.

The five high school students felt unexplained pain when they heard Jean's explanation. They could not imagine how painful the injury this man had experienced was.

"Are we going to save this man?" Ask Wenda.

"Of course not, why would I trouble myself to save a stranger?" Answer Jean.

"But this man is dying." Nara felt Jean was too cruel.

Jean looked at Edwin with a strange look. Wenda then stomped on Edwin's feet to warn him.

"What are you doing? Why step on my foot!!" Edwin was still unaware of Wenda's warning.

"Let's continue on our way." Then they went back to the car.

"Why should we come? Can't you see how the guy got hurt??" Edwin did not accept seeing his friends go to the village.

"Ed you're really stupid, can't you see it?" Wenda is thankful he's smarter than Edwin.

"What?"

"The man is malicious and offends the ability user there, so the ability user is on our side, you understand now?" Wenda.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Edwin was embarrassed, his friend didn't even tell him.

"Not that we don't want to tell, it's just that you're too stupid." Answer Anthony.

"You guys." Edwin felt humiliated, he was no longer in the mood to talk to his friends.

"Why didn't John get the man in the car? Is he lying?" Davin breaks the awkward atmosphere in the car.

"really?" They then poked their heads out the window and they still saw the man lying on the ground, only to be tied up and the rope connected to Liam's deer. R-rusa??

They were shocked, Jean intended to drag the stranger instead of bringing him into the car!! Jean did not care about their expressions, she then continued on.

Anthony did not dare to follow the back of Jean's car, so he chose to go ahead of Jean so as not to see how the man was being dragged.

Three minutes later, they finally reached Jean's destination. The village was so deserted that even zombies were nowhere to be seen. Jean stopped her car at the village border gate.

"Sister, are Finn and Lexie still here?" Liam could not help but worry when he saw the village that looked deserted.

"We'll ask someone later."

'System give me medicine for minor injuries.' Jean wanted to make the man aware.

A glass bottle with a light blue filling appeared in Jean's hand, and she then poured the liquid forcibly into the man's mouth.

"If you don't wake up then I'll choke you to death." The man seemed to feel a crisis out of nowhere after Jean threatened, so his eyes opened forcefully.

"A-I'm still alive??" The man screamed in excruciating pain, he wanted to move his body but could not.

"Aware?" Jean's face suddenly appeared in the man's sight. The man then realized that he was surrounded by people he did not know.

"Who are y'all? Hurry up and heal me!! I am Raes, one of the Death Venom gangsters! You guys have to save me if you don't want to offend our gang!!" The man quickly adapts and scares Jean's group, usually as people flee or kneel down to beg after hearing their gang's name.

"Didn't you see clearly your current condition?" Jean was not afraid at all even she increasingly felt futile for having thrown away 100 crystal nuclei for this man.

"You!-" Raes wants to scold Jean but is stopped by Davin. "Brother let me talk to him."

"okay." Jean does not ask why Davin suddenly took the initiative to help her, the important thing is that she does not need to expend her energy to torture the foreign man if Davin succeeds in persuading.

"Your brother should give up quickly, just follow John's brother's request." Davin tries to persuade the man, he actually intends to help the man avoid being tortured by Jean.

"Are you still not giving up??" Raes shook his head, Davin then continued the slap-slapping session until his hands went numb.

"Still??" Davin looked at the man coldly, he originally wanted to save the man but the man did not listen to his words at all.

"I'm-I" Before Raes could answer, Davin slapped him once more.

"I surrender!! Damn it!!!" Raes answered in a hurry, his face had currently flushed and swelled. He wanted to cry very hard, but his pride as a man did not let him cry, how unlucky he was for having been almost killed a second time.

"Brother John." Davin immediately called Jean.

"It's over?" Jean secretly re-wears her mask after eating potato chips that she accidentally stashes in the system storage.

"Yes, he has given up." Answer Davin.

Jean immediately returned and was surprised to see Davin's former slap, Raes' current condition was truly miserable.

"I'm going to start asking, you have to answer honestly all the questions. If you're caught lying then I'll kill you." Say Jean flatly. Raes immediately nodded in agreement, he again thought of Davin's warning.

Jean manages to interrogate Raes. From Raes' answer, it can be concluded that the members of the Death Venom had controlled the village for more than two weeks, they detained the villagers in the rice barn located in the middle of the village.
