34. Base City N
The man finally stopped giving resistance and sat quietly obediently. Raes then learns the man's name is Rolland after he took the initiative to ask. As for Jean, she simply fell asleep quietly without knowing that Rolland had given up.
After 2 hours of travel, they finally reached the shelter base of N city. Raes wants to wake Jean up but she doesn't dare, she then asks Olivia for help.
"Baggun!" Olivia shook Jean's body, but Jean remained soundly asleep.
"Why is this guy sleeping so well? Is he not afraid if we are robbed?!" Olivia is immediately annoyed that Jean is not awake.
"Sister Olivia, just use this?" Liam handed him the chocolate mousse cake he had hidden in his bag.
"for what?" Olivia doesn't understand why Liam gave her a piece of cake.
"Just stick it to brother's nose, he'll wake up after that." Answer Liam.
Olivia felt hesitant, but considering there was no other choice then she should try this way.
"Oh-it's chocolate mousse cake." Jean recognizes this smell, she then opens her eyes and takes the cake from Olivia's hand quickly.
The corner of Olivia's mouth twitched, she felt Jean had absolutely no image of being a woman.
"Sister loved snacks so much, so Mishael secretly asked me to keep them in a bag." Liam explained immediately.
"Do you have a dog's nose?" Jean did not answer Olivia's question.
"Have we arrived?" Jean looked at the shelter in front.
"If you don't wake up, I'm afraid we'll be here till night." Olivia sneers.
Jean and her group immediately park the car and Toto dies outside, too conspicuously bringing mutant animals to enter the shelter base, nor does Jean know if the shelter base allows mutant animals to enter.
"Can I just wait outside?" Rolland was terrified when he saw them taking him to the checkpoint.
"You'd better take it." Raes whispers to Rolland.
"Able users or ordinary people?" The checkpoint guard asked Jean.
"User capabilities." Answer Jean.
"Please fill out the form here." The postman provided a form asking for his name, age, and abilities.
Jean simply filled his space abilities and chose not to dismantle the lightning abilities that could later be used as a trump card. Only Olivia and Rolland were his abilities honestly included.
"It." Jean handed me the form. The guard smiled after reading the form and asked them to bring out the ability to test the veracity of the data.
"We have a separate area for the ability user, there are three types of buildings. The first is building A, the cost of entering 50 white crystalline nuclei per month, building B 30 crystalline nuclei per month and building C 10 white crystalline nuclei per month." The checkpoint guard serves in a friendly manner after finding out Jean is an ability user.
"Building B for 2 rooms." Jean handed over 60 white crystalline nuclei to the post guard. The post guard stared at the crystal nucleus greedily, it was rare for him to meet a refugee who stored a lot of crystal nuclei.
"Please." The postman gave the key along with the room number and then allowed Jean to enter.
"Wait a minute!" The postman suddenly stopped them. Rolland stiffened as the guards approached him.
"What's wrong? Is there something?" Jean was not panicking at all.
"Can this guy show his face? Recently the leader of the base announced a search for fugitives who escaped from the base." The guard explained the reason.
"I'm sorry, but this guy's face has a skin disease so he covered his face with hair for fear of humiliation." Rolland wanted to cry when he heard Jean's reasoning. Can't he give another reason?
"Oh.. Alright, I won't bother you guys anymore, you'd better find a cure for him soon, otherwise your group will get infected." The guard stared at Rolland with disdain. Jean's reason is actually very plausible because many people can't clean themselves with water contaminated by the virus.
"Going with the new refugees, I got a group of fat fish that went to building B area, they have crystal cores that seem to be quite a lot, also they are only at level one and two."
Jean doesn't know that her group has become someone's target. He looked at the outer area filled with refugees who had no ability.
The tents outside seemed to have been set up by each of the refugees so much that they were in such a mess, many beggars were wandering around and trying to make a fortune, Jean even seeing many people dying.
"It's very rundown." Olivia felt that this shelter base was very bad, even worse than the J city shelter base.
Some women wore skimpy clothes while flirting with Jean's group, but Jean paid him no heed.
"I feel this place is terrible." Edwin took cover behind Anthony and Davin's bodies.
"Brother John how long are we gonna stay here?" Nara asked, she also actually couldn't stand this place.
"We'll stay until I find Abby's family." Jean is always looking around, but there are too many refugees so she can only give up her idea to find Abby within a day.
"Let's go rest first." Jean felt tired after traveling all day, she wanted to get some rest.
'Master, some people are following you from afar.' The system immediately warns Jean. Jean's drowsiness instantly disappeared after hearing the system's warning.
"You go first, I'll take care of some rats on the street." Before they refused, Jean had already left.
"Let's go as fast as we can." Olivia takes over the group and rushes into the room that Jean had rented.
"It seems we don't bother knocking on the door." Two men appeared before Jean. One man was wearing silver armor that covered his hands and chest which came from metal abilities, while the other man was only carrying a bottle of drink.
The man carrying the bottle of drink immediately spilled water onto the ground, the water miraculously floated in front of him.
Jean smiled dismissively at the two men, it seems that her decision to hide her true abilities was indeed correct.
The water-capable man attacks her first with a water ball, Jean quickly fends off the attack with her katana. The man looked ugly, he did not expect his opponent to have any hidden skills.
"Let me fight it." The metal ability man stopped his friend, he this time was confident in his ability, with his metal body, it would be difficult for Jean to kill him.
The metal man then advances and attacks Jean, Jean fends off the opponent's attack with her katana, the man exploits a distance so close by kicking Jean's body, before the metal man's kick hits his body, Jean quickly retreated backwards.
"Lumayan, it's been a long time since I've found a target capable of matching my strength." The metal man laughed after finding pleasure by fighting Jean.
The nearby refugees had fled after seeing the battle between Jean and the metal man, but some people were still watching from a distance.
"You running away?!" The metal man ran to catch up with Jean who was looking for a quiet place to kill the metal man with his lightning ability.
Jean stops in a dark hallway in one of the slums behind building C. The metal man quickly caught up with Jean who had entered the passageway and was followed by the water ability user.
"Jeff I feel this is a little wrong." The water ability man felt Jean was deliberately guiding them away to a deserted place.
"What's wrong? Joseph can't lie to us." A metal man named Jeff has robbed immigrants at a shelter base, he and his friend Nielsen have long teamed up with Joseph who enlisted newcomers into the base.
"But I feel wrong this time."
"Let me fight it, if something goes out of control, you run away and report it to Joseph." Nielsen wanted to refuse, but Jeff had entered the hall alone.
Nielsen waited patiently, but she felt increasingly strange as she did not hear the sound of a fight for more than 5 minutes.
"Why aren't you looking for your friend?" Jean suddenly appeared behind Nielsen. Nielsen's body suddenly stiffened, she wanted to escape immediately but her body had been held back by Jean.
