Towards Eternity
Ch 440's. Origin Of Gouwang Zie

Pang Baicha looked at one by one the members of the Thief Serpent Group who were sitting quietly on the side of the road.

He felt a little strange about their current condition. I don't know what happened when they left. He began to pay close attention to all of them until he finally found a common ground.

No valuables were on them, including weapons, and also the storage ring was not even recovered from them all. Pang Baicha in an instant could draw a single conclusion and then turned to look at the innkeeper who was busy staring at the unconscious Gouwang Zie brought by Jian Qiang.

"This old man, he didn't even leave a single valuable item that we could take from all of them. Basic greedy!!" Pang Baicha spoke in his heart and tried to hold back his emotions.

"Oohhh...so he's the famous Thief King? There was absolutely nothing pulling from him," the innkeeper said with a sigh.

"Indeed, if something pulls from him, what are you going to do?! You greedy Old Man!!" Pang Baicha again ignited his emotions hearing the words of the innkeeper.

It was obvious that he would take Gouwang Zie's valuables as well if there was anything he found interesting. Pang Baicha was very confident, if only on the way before reaching the inn they did not strip Gouwang Zie of his valuables, surely the innkeeper would have taken them all.

"I'm grateful Jian Qiang reminded me to take it first rather than this greedy Old Man" Pang Baicha said with relief in his heart.

Just as Pang Baicha was beginning to think that the old man of the inn had already given up, Jian Qiang suddenly took out something from inside his storage room and thrust it at the old man.

Pang Baicha's eyes instantly widened to look at him and rushed over to Jian Qiang with a panicked face.

"What are you doing?!?!" his screams which then hurriedly picked up that something that was in Jian Qiang's hands.

But unfortunately he was too late, the old man of the inn had already moved faster to take something and see it.

"Hm? A locket?"

The thing Jian Qiang took out was a gold pendant necklace, which was one of the items he had taken from Gouwang's body earlier.

The old man checked the pendant, before later discovering that it could be opened. There was a piece of paper in it that was then taken by the old man and he opened it.

There were two lines of words on the paper that made her smile. He looked at Gouwang Zie back who was still unconscious and then placed his index finger on his chest that was covered by Jian Qiang's Qi chain.

A golden light shot out from his fingertips, and then pierced through Gouwang Zie's heart. Gouwang Zie's body suddenly shook violently, and his eyes opened while giving off the same golden light.

Gouwang Zie's body which was still in a condition bound by Jian Qiang's Qi chain continued to tremble violently, until then the chains wrapped around it began to crack, and finally broke off completely. Jian Qiang was surprised to see that, and hurriedly wanted to create another Qi chain to remember Gouwang Zie, but was immediately restrained by the innkeeper.

"Don't worry, he'll be fine" he said as he held onto Jian Qiang's body with one hand.

Without being able to resist, Jian Qiang said yes and continued to see what would happen. Gouwang Zie's body still continued to tremble for ten more seconds, until finally exactly half a minute later his body had stopped coming out and a golden light came back out from his chest.

Among the golden light, there was a speck of black stain that made the golden light look different.

The old man of the inn without hesitation immediately caught the light along with the black stain that came out with him. He grasped it tightly for a while until the golden light finally disappeared.

Simultaneously, the light coming out from both eyes of Gouwang Zie also disappeared.

"Ho? I didn't expect to find any trace of this man on the body of our little thief. I wonder if he really has reached the realm of Soul Mastery." said the innkeeper before then he looked at Hei Mi who was together with Pang Baicha.

"You must be a loyal follower of this thief, right? Tell me where you guys are from?"

Hei Mi who was tied up by Pang Baicha turned towards the old man and put on a mocking smile.

"Hm! I won't tell you! I'm not your subordinate, so I have no obligation to answer you!" Hey Mi replied quickly.

A small smile on the face of the old man of the inn appeared to reappear, and he did not ask again.

Instantly Hei Mi was jolted at his words and looked back at the old man of the inn with a face of disbelief.

"You..you...how did you know about the island?!" ask Hey Mi in a panic.

"What's? So my guess is right, huh? Hahaha, for people like me knowing the small islands around Black Sand Island is natural. Different story if I find out about the Main Islands, it just deserves your question right," replied the old man while putting on his little smile.

Meanwhile, Hei Mi's mouth was already wide open hearing the words of the old man of the inn.

"How did you find out about the Main Islands?! You people of Black Sand Island are forbidden from talking about it, open-!!"

"Be quiet, young lady. If you yell that loud in the middle of the night like this, a lot of people will hear you." The old man without touching Hei Mi at all, instantly made her stop talking just like that.

"As you said, we Black Sand Islanders are forbidden from talking about the Main Islands as it concerns the agreement several hundred years ago. But that's actually true of you residents on the neighboring island. All discussions of the Main Islands are forbidden to be discussed, therefore, let's stop discussing that, I don't have enough strength to fight against a Soul Emperor."

The innkeeper then looked at Jian Qiang and Pang Baicha in turn.

"Bring them in, it's too late, I'm too lazy if the city lord comes and asks me something" he said to the two of them who then casually walked back inside the inn.

Jian Qiang and Pang Baicha unhesitatingly followed him from behind with Jian Qiang carrying Gouwang Zie's unconscious body while Pang Baicha brought Hei Mi with him.

The old man of the inn took them to a room on the first floor close to the room that Weng Lou had previously entered with the innkeeper.

Seen in a room that is almost the same area as the inn room were chairs neatly arranged and facing each other, with a round table that separates the chairs. The innkeeper then invited them all to sit down, while the unconscious Gouwang Zie was placed in the corner of the room.

"Both of you, I'm sure what you'll hear after this must have never known before, therefore I will trust you not to leak it to others. I don't want to wet my hands with your blood, so if you think you can't keep your mouth shut, then get out of this room immediately." The innkeeper spoke in a serious tone while staring at Pang Baicha and Jian Qiang.

Jian Qiang was speechless to hear it, then he and Pang Baicha stared at each other and gulped their saliva in unison.

After ten seconds, none of them came out of the room, the innkeeper laughed softly at the decision of the two then sat in the chair that had been arranged.

"This happened several hundred years ago, precisely when the family that was the strongest family in the whole world and ruled the whole world was successfully removed from its power."

***

Early morning.

It was still dark and the sun had not shown its existence in the least.

At the inn where the Weng Lou group was located, the atmosphere was bustling with Weng Lou and others who were busy eating their food.

It seemed that they were all greedily eating their own food without anyone talking to each other in the slightest. Not because they don't want to, but they're focusing on the food they're eating.

In a few more hours, all of them, except Pang Baicha, will be in the semifinals. Their stomachs should be well filled, so that they do not burn out later.

While Weng Lou and the others were busy eating, Pang Baicha and Jian Qiang who were sitting together were seen not touching or eating their food at all. Their faces were currently looking very serious and like they were thinking about a lot of things.

What the old man of the inn had told the two of them a few hours ago had completely bothered their minds at this moment, even as Weng Lou and the others called out to the two of them, which was very disturbing, they don't budge one bit.

At this moment, inside the heads of the two of them, there was a process of digesting every word for word that the innkeeper had spoken to them.

Why did they get like that? It happened because what they had heard, was something they had never even imagined before.
