Towards Eternity

Towards Eternity
Ch 597's. Back to Conscious

In a large river located within the Mainland continent.

The steamer Weng Lou moved by being pulled by a giant crab from the water and against the river currents so easily.

Lin Bei who had been unconscious ever since his fight against Weng Ying Luan finally regained consciousness. His eyelids moved as sunlight entered through the window where he was lying, until it finally opened and he looked at the ceiling of the room with a confused look.

"This...where am I?" asked Lin Bei in confusion.

He blinked then turned his head to the side and saw a man who looked to be in his forties sitting while closing his eyes by his bedside. The man reacted to Lin Bei's eyes and opened his eyes, looking back at the young man.

"You realize it too at last. I thought the Pursuit Army would get a new Captain again, but it seems like fate still loves us all" the man joked to Lin Bei.

Lin Bei just silently responded to the joke. He turned his gaze and stared at the door of the room where he was currently, where it turned out that some people from the Pursuit Army were looking at the two.

"What are you guys doing there? Come in if you have anything to say!" The man who was with Lin Bei came to face the door and called out to the members of the Pursuit Army with a small smile.

They all smiled widely and hurriedly walked into the room resembling the room. The room ended up being crowded and narrow because it was filled with Pursuit Forces who wanted to see the condition of Lin Bei who had just awakened after being unconscious for two full days.

"Captain, how are you feeling? Do you feel pain in a certain part of you?" asked one of Lin Bei's members with a curious face.

Lin Bei replied to that question while touching his body and fumbling over whether any part of it hurt. He immediately shook his head in response.

"Not at all, I feel very healthy. Much healthier than usual! It was as if my body had been reborn and not as it used to be" she said after feeling the sensation.

Hearing that, the faces of the other Pursuit Squad members immediately turned into faces of relief. They nodded at each other. The man sitting beside Lin Bei's bed finally opened his voice again while explaining his true condition.

"Captain, there's something I have to, no, we're telling you." The man spoke in a calm tone.

Lin Bei turned to him, he blinked. Unlike usual this man beside her was taking a serious attitude when with her and the others. The Deputy Captain of the Pursuit Army was usually only serious when they were on an important mission, and according to Lin Bei they were not in such a situation.

"We have seized a ship that we suspect is connected to the traitor we're after. Right now we are inside the ship, and moving towards our headquarters. The tracking force will inspect this ship and search for traces of the traitor. This way the Captain won't receive punishment from the superiors and Elders." Lin Gou, who was the Vice-Captain of the Pursuit Army explained the situation to Lin Bei.

"Ship? Ah, so we're on the boat! It's worth it that I feel a little shock every few moments. Have we entered the territory of the Phoenix River of Life?" asked Lin Bei who quickly moved towards the window and saw the scene outside.

"Em, we just got in. My guess is we'll arrive at the main river when the sun sets."

The scene that Lin Bei saw from the window of the ship was a huge river whose breadth might already be equivalent to the area of a medium reduced lake. This ship he was riding on seemed to be in large shape, he thought. Seen from some other ships they passed only looks the size of a third of the size of the ship he boarded.

In fact, as he remembered the ships he saw were supposed to be patrol boats that had a size of at least fifty meters long and a width of about twenty meters. But this Weng Lou steamship looks much bigger. Probably because of his height adjusted to the height of the Black Ape Fighter.

"You're saying this is the ship you suspect has a connection to the traitor, and what about the owner? Did you catch him?" Lin Bei asked after realizing something.

Lin Gou shook his head. He turned to the other members of the Pursuit Army and told them to get out of the room.

"Captain, come with you for a moment, there's something the Captain must see."

"Hm? Whatisit? Is that the evidence we're looking for from that traitor?"

"No, it's not that. It's something more serious than that. It'll be hard to explain, you better see for yourself."

Lin Gou immediately went out of the room while Lin Bei was silent in his place. He was confused by everyone's attitude and was curious. Finally he decided to follow where everyone was going which turned out to be moving towards the center of the ship where there was a very large metal door locked by several metal padlocks and also some talismans the one that was stuck to that door.

Lin Bei who saw him became more and more confused, but the look on his face immediately changed completely when he felt a savage aura from behind the door.

"I-This.....what's behind this door? The aura of killing him was truly incredible, and was like a ferocious beast that had gone through hundreds of fights. This aura is unmistakable, an extremely powerful ferocious beast must be behind it," thought Lin Bei quickly.

Lin Gou did not say much after bringing Lin Bei to the front of the door. There was a door that was much smaller. The door was opened and a suffocating air immediately seeped out of the door, hitting the bodies of Lin Bei and the others.

Lin Bei's face had already turned very serious. He didn't know what kind of monster was in there, but one thing was certain, his army was truly great at being able to lock him inside.

"Lunches...." Subconsciously Lin Bei swallowed his saliva. He chose to walk slowly closer to the door and enter into it, accompanied by Lin Gou walking behind him.

The other Pursuant Force looked at each other, they did not have the courage to look at the monsters inside there once again. It was enough that they felt the desiccation a few days ago. After all, they didn't know what to do in there, so enough of their chairman and vice-chairman just walked in.

Meanwhile, inside the room that Lin Bei and Lin Gou entered. Lin Bei's footsteps had stopped the moment he arrived in front of a large, black-bodied creature that was sitting on its back to them and lowered its head.

His ears could clearly hear the sound of the breathing of a creature that was none other than the Black Ape Fighter.

The Black Ape Fighter who sensed the arrival of the two only turned his head slightly before grunting softly.

"What do you want? If you think I want to open my mouth even if you have done all the torture, then you are wrong. I had gotten used to receiving those torments before, even more terrifying. You better get out of here, you're just wasting my time." The Black Ape Fighter spoke in a slightly displeased tone. But he showed no signs of hostility at all, instead he looked like he was bowing to Lin Gou.

Lin Bei's forehead shriveled. He ventured to walk forward and could finally clearly see the figure of the Black Ape Fighter before him.

"I-It....how is it possible?" Lin Bei asked in a tone of confusion and disbelief at the same time.

Hearing Lin Bei's voice, the Black Ape Fighter turned his gaze to him. He was like scanning Lin Bei's body in that gaze of his. Lin Bei felt like he was stripped before the gaze of the Black Ape Fighter's eyes, yet he did not feel strange. After all, the eyes of a savage beast had their own way of working.

"Hmp.there are two owners of Phoenix blood here, it's ridiculous. Why don't the two of you fight each other and determine who is the strongest?" said the Black Ape Fighter indifferently before then turning his body back.

"Cera....Black Ape Fighters....bu-not that they have been extinct for hundreds of years? Why would such a monster be here?" Lin Bei couldn't believe what he saw.

A hand touched Lin Bei's shoulder, the owner was Lin Gou. The Vice-Captain of the Pursuit Force calmed down its leader who looked a little panicked at this moment.

"The Black Ape the victorious Fighters had long since gone extinct, but that was only in the Mainland region alone." Lin Gou advanced and stood beside Lin Bei.

Lin Bei looked at the representative with a puzzled look, what was he trying to say? Sometimes this vice's thought he could not guess at all, making it difficult to follow his mind path.

"What I want to say is, even though the Mainland Black Ape Brawlers have long been extinct, but not necessarily elsewhere the same thing happened. Captain, do you remember the history of the Inter-Clan War?" asked Lin Gou.

Lin Bei nodded. Although in the Lin Family men are treated less than women, but the lessons of history are accepted by all members. Especially about the history of the Great Clan Family war that lasted for hundreds of years and ended hundreds of years ago.

In the lesson he received, it was told that the war occurred because the Mainland was not enough to accommodate the Five Great Clan Families and resulted in a fight between the five.

In that war, the strongest family who is the leader among the five families decided to separate from the Mainland so that the war could end and no more lives were lost just because of the seizure of the territory.

They were the Weng Clan Family. Led by the head of their family at that time, who was none other than Weng Lou in his previous life, he divided one hundredth of the territory belonging to the Weng Family and kept it out of the Mainland area.

He brought in people he considered to be still completely loyal to the Weng family, including several branch families from Yang, Ying, and Wang who chose to change their clans and form a new family. Especially the Lin Family, who had moved in with the Weng Family was one of the Two Main Factions found within the Lin Family in the Mainland, which was the Lin Mei family, heir to the bloodline of the Phoenix Destruction.

All the Clan Families in Mainland Utamq signed an agreement, that they would not disturb each other again starting from the separation of the Weng Family. They were also forbidden to disturb the Weng Family who had broken away, and if violated then the war that had ended was forced to start again.

"So...you want to say that this monster comes from the Weng Family's place? How could that happen? Do you know how far this place is from the territory that the Weng Family owns? It'll take months, no, years to get there!"

"That's still my guess. For that we will bring it to the higher-ups. They decide what to do next. One thing is for sure, the matter of the traitor will be covered because of this achievement of ours, I am sure we will at least be given a big reward," explained Lin Gou who patted Lin Bei on the shoulder. He left the room.

Still inside the room, Lin Bei chose to stare during the several Black Ape Fighter figures in front of him. The monkey just kept silent without any concern for him at all.

After being satisfied to see it, Lin Bei finally left, and left the Black Ape Fighter who had turned his head back towards the entrance to the room where he was locked up.

The eyes of the Black Ape Fighter looked unfocused, he recalled the incident a few days ago when he was caught by those from the Lin Family Pursuit Army.

"Haahh. If it wasn't for the bird's blood, I would've killed them all, huh....." The Black Ape Fighter could do nothing but sigh at length.

The main reason he lost against the Pursuit Army led by Lin Gou that night was because Lin Gou also had the power of the Phoenix Bloodline Descendant within his body, which was why he had the power of the Phoenix Bloodline within his body, and it was only slightly inferior to the one Lin Bei had before he fought against Weng Ying Luan.

Even so, the power of the Phoenix bloodline still suppressed the Black Ape Fighter and forced him to submit without being able to fight back at all. In the end he had to end up locked up like he is today and taken to a place he did not know.

In the silence in the room, the Black Ape Fighter recalled Weng Lou's face and chose to close his eyes.

"Son, I don't care what you're gonna ask of me, which obviously you're gonna have to get me out of here."
