Towards Eternity

Towards Eternity
Ch 628's. Lake Weng

One month later, in the north of the border of the Lin Family territory with the Wang Family.

Three shadows flew at high speed over a meadow that had a width of tens of square kilometers.

In the meadow, there can be seen some livestock with shepherds who are ordinary humans. They were not the three shadows that passed over them, due to the movement of the three of them that were extremely fast to be captured by the eyes of an ordinary human.

There are several small streams flowing in the meadow, which become the source of animal life and also the humans who live in it.

Occasionally it will be seen some fairly large human villages with several tens of families living in them. They live as farmers and ranchers in this place.

The soil makes the plants grow very well. This was because the southern region of Mainland controlled by the Lin Family had many volcanoes that could be seen almost everywhere.

Although it often causes disaster when it erupts, volcanic ash vomit that comes out of volcanoes has the benefit of fertilizing the soil and becoming a natural fertilizer for plants.

Weng Lou could see, the ordinary human life that was far from all the interference of Martial Practitioners in this place was quite prosperous when compared to some villages that he had come to before.

It seemed like the Lin Family had arranged some matters related to the lives of ordinary humans in their territory.

Grasslands like this are very good for humans to live in, but so are the wild animals who like to prey on livestock. But so far, Weng Lou had not seen a single wild beast roaming the prairie.

At most only a few wild wolves or snakes would appear occasionally. And they were all not beasts that possessed strength comparable to a tier 1 Foundation Martial Practitioner. Just a natural enemy of ordinary people.

"Keu realized? This entire prairie region was under the rule of the Lin Family. Some unskilled family members would be assigned at the frontier of the prairie to guard the savage beasts that could harm ordinary humans from going inside. That said, we, the Lin Family govern almost all ordinary human lives within our territory, though not directly. This was all in accordance with the old rules of the Lin Family which strictly prohibited Martial Practitioners from interfering in the lives of ordinary humans, in the sense of commanding them.

All ordinary humans living within our territory must obtain prosperity for their merits which results in Martial Practitioners within the Lin Family's territory. In each village, if there are children who want to become Martial Practitioners, then they will be brought by some members of the Lin Family who have been assigned to recruit and teach ordinary human children.

The children would be trained for several months, if they had sufficient talent in martial arts training, they would be taken towards the Lin Family branch families located throughout the southern region. For those who do not have enough talent, then they will be returned to their village. And so on every few years.

There were already many Martial Practitioners in the Lin Family who came from ordinary human villages, but most of them would not be able to break through the boundary of the Foundation Formation realm. It has to do with their natural talents. So at most they would only be warriors in some small town that the Lin Family ruled."

Lin Bei explained everything in a calm voice while occasionally pointing at the few villages they passed by.

Although Weng Lou did not ask anything, he chose to still listen to her explanation. He liked to listen to Lin Bei, it helped him understand more deeply about the system that worked in the Mainland, especially in the southern region controlled by the Lin Family.

"If they have an extraordinary talent in martial arts, can they get a good position in the family?" Weng Lou asked curiously.

From what he knew, the system within a large family like the Lin Family was heavily tied to the bloodline system. People who come from outside the family will find it difficult to compete with those from the family. This is related to the martial resources they can receive, and also the teaching they have received since childhood, in contrast to people who come from outside the family.

Lin Bei could understand Weng Lou's thoughts. He also went back to explaining.

"I shouldn't have told you this information, but since you're the guests the Head of the Family considers important, then I'll explain it to you." He paused for a moment, before then returning to talk.

Those who chose to become members of the Lin Family would be blessed with the Phoenix blood bestowal done by some of the Lin Family Elders who had obtained the bestowal permission from the Family Head. The Phoenix blood would enter their bodies and they would have the power of the Phoenix bloodline within their bodies just like the rest of the Lin Family. However how much Phoenix blood their bodies could absorb, all depended on the person himself.

There had once been some extremely rare cases where someone who chose to become a member of the Lin Family managed to absorb over fifty percent of the given Phoenix, which he was given, and he has about sixty percent of the blood of the Phoenix blood in his body."

Weng Lou nodded in understanding, it turned out that there was such a thing. He did not expect it. After all, he himself did not know too much about the specific bloodline strength matter.

Even he only knew a little of the big picture for having seen some bloodline powerhouses.

Lin Bei did not explain any further, Weng Lou did not ask anymore either. They continued on their way and crossed the meadow at full speed.

When it was late afternoon, they had long since left the meadow far behind them and finally arrived at the boundary of the Lin Family and Wang Family territory which turned out to be a vast lake.

This lake was the boundary of the Lin Family which was in the south with the Wang Family which was in the south.

The area of the lake was so large, that Weng Lou who had used his Eagle Eye technique still could not see the end.

"Hey, is this a lake created due to the raising of the Weng Family territory hundreds of years ago?" Weng Ying Luan asked curiously.

Lin Bei nodded and immediately descended to the ground. Weng Lou and Weng Ying Luan immediately followed him and landed on the ground behind Lin Bei.

"We will spend the night here, it is not safe to fly over Lake Weng at night. There was a curse scattered all over the lake and made anyone who flew over it during the night would find themselves lost and become directional blind," Lin Bei said.

He swung knocking on the ground and made a small hole above the ground.

Swung his hand and unleashed his Phoenix Flame into the hole he made. The fire was blazing with a reddish glow and had a piercing hot sensation.

"We'll spend the night here tonight. The journey will continue in the morning. With my Phoenix Flame, there will be no ferocious beasts that dare to approach us. So we can rest without fear of being disturbed by the attacks of beasts."

After saying that, Lin Bei chose one place to sit and meditate.

Weng Ying Luan also looked for a place she considered comfortable, then sat down and took out a bottle of poison. He started drinking the poison and meditating.

On the other hand, Weng Lou did not choose to sit down. He chose to walk towards the edge of the lake and sat there looking at the vast lake before him.

The location that was where the Weng Family used to be, has now turned into a vast lake, almost looking like an ocean. If people first arrived at the edge of the lake would definitely think that they were on the outskirts of the beach.

Weng Lou who sat staring at the lake for a while finally decided to meditate. Tomorrow will be a long day, so he should rest well.
