Ch. 10 — Curses And Exchanges

The pride rose, a golden lion shield appeared and blinded the eyes. His face and body were drenched in blood yet there was no pain he felt, for now. The mysterious lines that were fed by the cold power spread into his pores.

Hazama feels an excruciating pain, but it is accompanied by a great strength that he has not yet felt. Even so, her lips curved up, she smiled happily. He had long been yearning to use it, his feelings were very mixed.

Accompanied by mixed feelings in his chest, Hazama raised his shield high and was ready to withstand the oncoming attack.

"For you who have been removed from the world, O pride, you who are arrogant even to the gods, give me the way of salvation!" Hazama shouted and activated his Pride Curse Skill.

Hazama knows she can't use the curse of Pride for a long time, given what happened to Takumi, she doesn't expect the side effects to be light.

As the name suggests, the curse series is a power that takes negative energy and curses its user, be it a Hero weapon or a Skill like Rigel, it is impossible not to get the side effects of relying on curses.

A huge ball of black and white light struck the Hazama shield, their huge clash smashing the ground and throwing all sorts of objects around it.

Everyone could only watch in silence when looking at the clash, they had the same hope for Rigel to rise faster and overcome this situation.

They were all aware that there was nothing they could do if there was no Rigel, the only person who might have the most powerful attack power of them, especially at the power of the strange runes that they thought only had three lines but in reality there were other lines.

“Defend Rigel, I do not allow death to come to you.” Takumi looked sadly at the ball of light that covered Rigel.

How could he possibly let his best friend die a second time, Takumi realizes that he and the others are too dependent on Rigel, to forget that Rigel is also a human who can experience fatigue and death.

“Do not let your guard down, prepare for the next clash!” Sylph enhanced with a loud voice.

Hazama manages to withstand his attacks with all his might, lucky that he still has a lot of power, but even with the power of the curse, Hazama will not be able to withstand as many as six attacks.

‘It seems like this one human is using negative power, he is even able to withstand it without much effort but there is a limit to how much he can do it.’ Acnologia thinks maybe he'll throw another attack to find out how human this one is.

He gathered even more powerful black and white power, immediately he threw it at Acnologia and secretly he intended to approach her.

Hazama lifts his shield with the same posture, the difference this time he was pushed a few meters for holding it, all of them realizing that Hazama could not last long.

“You think I didn't notice it?" Hazama snorts and taunts Acnologia, who secretly intends to stab him.

The light that enveloped Hazama's shield began to envelop Acnologia's attack, in the next second, Acnologia's attack again hurtled several times stronger towards Acnologia itself.

“Avert attack?!” Acnologia was shocked at his attack being returned to him.

‘No, its own strength is stronger than I put out..’ Acnologia realizes that Hazama is not only holding back, but has tricks that make him absorb the opponent's attacks and return them many times stronger.

Acnologia stepped back and dodged his own attack, he did not think he wanted to get hurt with his own attack and dodging into a path that was not entirely wrong.

He did not plan to linger with other humans, he wanted to immediately stop a human named Rigel who was swallowed by the light and kill him for having an unpleasant feeling.

But unfortunately with the existence of many humans and even the Fairy Queen being by his side to protect him, it was not easy to face them together.

‘I don't plan on using it because it sucks, but there is no other option.’ Acnologia had made its decision and immediately activated its power before it got a nuisance.

Acnologia began to be shrouded in the power of light, while the shadow that enveloped his body became faint before disappearing completely and being replaced by light.

“Hikari, Sun God Worshipper.” Acnologia uses its power and goes from its initial darkness to light.

Hazama doesn't care about any changes Acnologia makes, even if Acnologia's use of super seiya won't scare him away, as long as the time he limits himself to using the Pride Curse is still available, he will keep on blocking.

’One minute..., I'll end it in one minute!’ Hazama and Acnologia thought the same thing in the same time frame.

Hazama who was supposed to take a defensive position shot up fast, leaving a trail of strong winds in his place.

Acnologia also did the same and used the claws to split the Hazama into five pieces. Hazama understands his intentions and succeeds in holding him back, the Shield Hero title is not an empty title, defense matters will never be his weakness.

Claws and shields smashed into each other, causing small sparks and violent tremors that ravaged the ground, thanks to their lunge.

Acnologia suspected his attack would be repelled but he had another claw, which was why he had two hands that were his weapon.

A split second later, Takumi lunged and held the other claws, “Unfortunately this is not a one-on-one fight!" Takumi pushed his spear even stronger.

Acnologia was about to curse, but a loud bang on his head, "Ergh!" Acnologia groaned, planning to let out his breath but the person who gripped his head with his small hands was not a careless person.

“Fucking little girl!” Acnologia swore and tried to attack him, but strangely both hands could not be moved.

“The Pride of the Lion curses you through the right hand, as long as it is connected, your body will slowly rot!" Hazama enlightens Acnologia a bit, intending to make her decide her own hand.

“The Dragon Crystal in your body also harnesses the energy of nature and unfortunately I am the master of that energy and will absorb it all the way to its shell!" Sylph clutching Acnologia's head grew stronger and drained her strength.

As the Fairy Queen who was number one in the mastery of natural energy, it was not difficult for her to absorb that energy as long as her strength could reach its place.

Sylph needed time to search for the Dragon Crystal within Acnologia's body but after finding it she immediately sucked up a large amount of her energy.

“Yamikari!” Acnologia uses the forces of light and dark that fuse and blast the surrounding area within a radius of 20 meters.

Acnologia managed to break away, with immediately he launched another attack to buy time for him to pull out his hand.

“Full Counter!" Hazama swallows his entire attack and returns it.

Acnologia only curses in the heart because it does not have time to just remove the right hand that is slowly rotting, not only his right hand, but slowly spread to his body.

“Low-humans are so annoying to gather!” Acnologia gathers its energy, until it drains the remaining half of its strength.

Acnologia no longer cared if the foolish dragons that he originally wanted them to worship him were wiped out, now all he needed to do was destroy the entire life that existed, he said, including Rigel who still absorbs light from other life.

‘Where is that snail? Was he really just watching this fight?! I no longer care if he dies against this attack.’ Acnologia released super strong energy around his body, ‘I'm not sure that Rigel's human will die with an explosion, it looks like he really needs to be taken care of.’

Acnologia fused with the wind in the blink of an eye, having been in place of Rigel who had a defenseless blind spot.

No one had been able to keep up with the pace before, everyone was shocked and with all their might trying to stop, but no matter how strong they tried, it would never have been.

“Last here!” The lightning-fast acnologia used its claws to stab Rigel's body.

In a split second, the shadow of the girl came to the trajectory of the Acnologia claws, moments later her body was hollow and drenched in blood, along with it the other Hero simultaneously severed Acnologia's hand.

Luckily Rigel survived, Acnologia's claws only needed a few centimeters to reach the ball of light, but it was not to be proud of because they needed to exchange Rigel's life for someone else's.
