Hero Creator: The Last Hero

Hero Creator: The Last Hero
Ch. 4 — Shape Compassion

The sight of everything on the battlefield was fixed on the sky, more precisely the thing that descended from the sky. A large rock that fell at high speed would hit the ground where Acnologia was located.

"While I say it often, is he really a human being?!" beat Marcel while maintaining a distance that is not affected by impact.

"If he's not human, it's impossible to get hurt. Instead, use your feet from your mouth!" scold Ozaru who led the escape.

Marcel would never know, they would never know the true form of power that Creator calls. Only he, Amatsumi Rigel, knew that power, after all, he was the only one who had that power in this part of the world.

"I hope at least this stone can inflict a little wound on him!" Rigel swung his hand and clenched his teeth as he threw the meteor towards Acnologia.

The higher an object that falls from the sky to the earth, the greater the time it has thanks to the strong gravitational attraction. The meteor was slowly heating up but before it could reach its target—

"Darken."

!!!

The black shadow swallowed it and turned it into ashes, the tiny particles raining down on the land felt like tiny sparks burning the skin. Surely all who witnessed it would be stunned that an object as big as a palace shattered so easily, so easily that it looked terrible.

Rigel knew that there was no way Acnologia would stand still against an attack that would most likely have left him injured, albeit only slightly. But still, despite suspecting that this kind of thing would happen he still insisted on trying it.

"It looks like it's a lot harder than I expected. Not even a single wound formed."

Surely from the beginning he did not think this would be easy, but the difficulty was far beyond his expectations. It was indeed impossible to defeat him just by utilizing a little bit of his strength from the start. He had to exert his full strength if he wanted to defeat Acnologia but still the figure gazing from a distance was alarming.

"Now what should I do... Solar Eclipse can be the way, but the fools there are the problem."

If only there were no whereabouts of Red and his comrades and the Combat Union, he had already launched a massive explosion-based attack with a wide range. Even a meteor before it can inflict a bit of loss of life on his side.

Rigel could have ignored their existence and let him die honorably but that would only cause other problems. Especially for those with a strong sense of justice like Hazama, it was entirely possible for him and the other Heroes to oppose his actions.

"It seems impossible to fight here, yes. Should we take him someplace far away?"

Rigel who had gathered with the others nodded in agreement to Ozaru's suggestion. Ozaru also finds it difficult to fight when he finds out there are other people besides Heroes.

"Yeah, from the beginning it was a mistake to bring troops. No matter how minimal we carry it remains a shortcoming."

Against Rigel who said cold words and seemed to not appreciate the courage of the troops, Yuri began to refute Rigel's statement.

"What do you mean by that Rigel? You should feel helped and grateful that they are willing to die just to help us but you say that it is a mistake and a lack? I really don't accept that!"

"I also agree with him, the courage of the soldiers is to be appreciated and their existence gives us an advantage!" Petra pressured Yuri, but they did not see what Rigel saw.

"I'll ask you guys this... How much profit do they get with their presence? Can a bunch of useless people change the situation? In the end they will die without helping much."

Which makes another reason he does not want to bring many people because with the number of deaths that exist, it will weaken the courage that the soldiers have. They will realize that every event in this world is beyond human reach.

But if only the Heroes fight and return safely, they will be even more motivated to take part in the final fight.

"What the hell are you, why are you so disrespectful?! Do you still believe in calling yourself a hero? Do you still believe you have a conscience? Treading the courage and determination of others so easily, you're really disappointing, Rigel!"

"Hero you say?"

He no longer remembered assuming that he was truly the Hero that humans expected him to be. With all his ugliness, his perfection, is it appropriate for him who is dirty to be a holy figure?

He just had to, from the beginning come to this world has got that title. Not even if he asks for it, wants it not. Although he did not affirm to the world that he was throwing away the title, all that came to mind was uncertainty.

"I never wanted that title, nor did this power. I just did what I had to do. Staining hands with blood, piling up sin after sin to buy a permanent ticket to hell, what hero is such a figure? Not once do I boast of that title, the bullshit I'm saying in front of them."

Through a hundred years of hell, killing those he could have built a relationship with, destroying the whole life he fought with in the Labyrinth, all thanks to the title of Hero.

Looking at those who were stunned and gazing with gazes as if looking at others within him, Rigel smiled. Not because of happiness alone, but a feeling that approaches emptiness without emotion.

His smile seemed beautiful with the combination of the wind that hit him, but could not be seen the emotions encompassing that smile. As a result, words were spoken softly through his lips.

"Consciousness? I didn't know it was still there or not, but... If it really disappears completely, I will not consider killing all of them or not, without your exception."

"Rigel, you—"

"Stop it, either way the words are not wrong. I didn't expect this title myself, but how else. Regarding the existence of the Combat Unity, the advantages we get are very few, the more flaws occur with their existence."

Ozaru certainly knows very well the meaning of Rigel's words because he is the same as him. Getting something that never once wanted to get, taking lives that never even once talked to him.

There is nothing more selfish than to impose will and responsibility, to bear the hopes of all men and their existence. It goes beyond the meaning of selfishness itself.

"There's no time for us to argue because the fucker did something during the conversation."

Hazama took steps to prepare for survival. While passing Rigel, he slightly showed a sad and hopeful look, but only for a moment.

Rigel was only indifferent to that gaze, no matter what he expected or thought, as long as it did not interfere with the work he was going to do then it did not become a chapter.

"Hahaha, really a bunch of stupid monkeys. All four of you arguing in the middle of a war, you underestimate your opponent too much. Even ignoring my whereabouts, makes me really sad, you know."

"It seems so, the lizard needs to be given affection. As a form of my love, I will give you a short death."
