Ch. 83 — Final Fight Ray Vs Regulus

SRING! CLANGS! SRING!

The sparks of the two metals clashed in a place called Endless Dream. Endless dreams are only had when one's body is trapped somewhere.

The Eternal Ice that imprisoned Ray and Regulus inside, then the hidden ability of the freeze was to bring their inner selves into this world, Endless Dream. An almost impossible place to accept interference from the outside world, the reason Regulus brought him here was because he did not want to get interference.

“I admit you are so strong that I am sure I will lose in a few exchanges. And therefore I have no hesitation in bringing you here using Eternal Ice. Honestly, there's a part of you that scares me.” Regulus said while clashing with Ray.

With this world that was his, Regulus was able to use his surroundings to attack Ray. There was no doubt that Endless Dream was the strongest card he had.

“You are quite a coward, yes-!” Ray shouted and fused his two blades, a golden light shot out and shattered the ice that suddenly appeared protecting Regulus.

“So what you said. Using dirty and cowardly means is a devil's skill. Even if you prostrate and cut off your head, I will not hesitate to do it!” Regulus reaches out a fist and hits the air, a giant ice hand appears and hits Ray.

Luckily he reacted quickly. Ray spun and avoided the ice fist perfectly. Although annoying because Regulus began to keep his distance from him but he was not able to do much.

‘I have to do something.’

Ray is not confident if he has to fight from a distance. He was terrible at using magic and among his weapon skills there was nothing really useful for long-range attacks, most probably close and medium.

The only thing he could do was to create a state where he was able to take a steady distance with Regulus.

‘Imagine it is really easy but the execution is more complicated.’

Ray clucked, he cursed at his weakness in the use of long-range attacks. He only had one capable of attacking from a great distance, but useful or unknown.

“What's a Hero? It's so unpleasant if you play as samsak.” Regulus smiled cynically and enjoyed it so much.

Favored to see the Hero struggling and struggling so hard to live, the sight was irreplaceable. A little regret arose because he did not invite Seraphim but whatever the circumstances he had to still enjoy.

Ray took a foothold then jumped, Regulus attacked with ice pillars sticking out into the sky. This is troublesome but also profitable because Ray does not have to worry about getting a hidden attack from Regulus. He can take shelter at any time when the time comes.

But it's bad that if he just dodges on he can never get out of this place. Attacking is the best defense, if he can make a streak of attacks that overwhelm Regulus, victory will switch sides.

Strengthening his resolve and maturing the strategy in his head, Ray hid behind the ice pillar Regulus made. Discovering the shocking act, Regulus taunts but raises his vigilance.

He is not naive who will loosen up just because of it, in the long time he has lived. Humans always do lowly tricks but very annoying if trapped in it.

“Have you given up? Heroes are just like this, yeah. You guys are so disappointing. Ah, I'm really bored with you, I'll kill ya?”

That cheap provocation will never work for Ray, no matter what anyone might talk about, Ray will never fall for mere words. He is not an impatient man, his speech will not affect him as someone speaks to a deaf man.

Closing his eyes and crossing his dagger, Ray begins to perform magic which takes a long time to activate. Not only was he not good at using magic, but his own setup took time.

‘Beyond the Hero skill and magic of the dagger technique, only this magic is completely outside the dagger, and the only one I can.’

There was no way to shorten his setup, he was not a Leo who was so intelligent as to do so many things, even being able to perform this magic as it was with breathing.

“Hahaha, you're really desperate, huh? Hiding like a mouse but not realizing you are trapped in a trap. There's only one exit from this place, which is me. I am the key as well as the gate of this place.” Regulus starts talking, he finds out Ray is doing something and tries to mess it up with words.

He was the key and the exit gate of Endless Dream, his sentence might not make sense but it was quite possible so. So far, Endless Dream is like a Territory without anyone being able to get in and out of it. There is no place without a way out.

If one could enter then one would definitely be able to exit. Otherwise, how could anyone know there was such magic? Even Regulus would not be foolish to throw his life away just for the sake of a Hero. Surely, somewhere there is a way out, or it is Regulus himself.

“I'll tell you narrow-minded. In this place, the only way to get out is to face me but everything is not that simple. I am the gate to get out, on one side I am also the key to open the gate. If you kill me and get the gate, as long as there's no key, you'll never get out. The key of the gate itself is me.”

To find a way out of this place, Ray must kill Regulus and create a gate to get out. But the biggest problem is to open the gate Ray must get permission from Regulus, as the gate opening key.

Of course, it is impossible to get the key because somehow they are enemies who must kill each other.

“In short, you will never get out even if you beat me. You will weep for life in the eternity of Endless Dream.”

Regulus spread his arms while smiling triumphantly. He was sure he could shake Ray with those words. End in this place one would not die of age but it was still possible to die at the hands of others or even commit suicide.

“From Endless Dream, this place is more appropriately called Unlimited Prison.” Ray finally responded to the statement Regulus made.

He was quite grateful that Regulus started talking and gave him time but still not enough. For that he needs to buy more time by serving this ridiculous talk.

“But didn't you realize you had revealed important information to me? I'm sure you're trying to hide it but not smart enough in the word game.”

“What do you mean? Could it be the desperate steps you took? It was too pitiful for a Hero classmate.”

“Certainly, huh? I think the sad thing is you for revealing this information.” Ray said with a mocking intonation, “If what you say is true, that you are the only way out, then it will be very strange.”

It is strange that the user is the only way out of this place. If so Endless Dream was the most terrifying power of many kinds of strength. With the Endless Dream Regulus is quite capable of trapping the Seraphim, even Rigel is most feared by Lucifer.

But he never did. No, he just can't do it. There was one small crack that became the most fatal weakness of Endless Dream. Although this is still speculation but Ray believes it because of the fact Regulus is still here.

“If you are the only way out, why don't you go and leave me here? If I were you, instead of trying to kill here, it would be better to leave him alone. With that, this place would be perfect. But you didn't do it. You can't do it. There is a disability from this place that cannot be ignored.”

Why would it be necessary to enter this place Regulus have to freeze himself and Ray? What was the reason he was willing to trouble himself dealing with her and not leave her alone in this place??

Ray felt stupid for thinking about it deeply. If only Rigel were in his position, he would easily discover the secret behind this place.

Hearing Ray's words made Regulus wary. But he did not act immediately, if he became angry then it confirmed Ray's suspicion was a fact.

If only Rigel or Ozaru were here, with the insane power they have it is very likely to destroy this place. With Endless Dream destroyed then it is most likely to return. But that way is not as easy as it sounds.

“Eternal Ice!” Regulus immediately exerted his attack in anger, for a very long time he had not become this angry.

“It looks like it's true, yes!” Ray immediately jumped out and lunged towards Regulus, “Ilusion Magic— Seven Shadow!”

A dazzling light emerged from Ray's place. Seven shadows resembling Ray appear, they jump and zigzag near Regulus. Regulus seemed troubled looking for the real one, he chose to attack everything at once but they moved very agilely. Running out of patience Regulus shouted out loudly.

“Ice Thorn!”

Hundreds of purplish ice-shaped spines appeared and left no gaps for Ray's seven shadows to dodge. The seventh was stabbed right in the chest and there was even one in the head. They also bleed but their faces are flat and soon they disappear.

Regulus was wide-eyed because none of them were real. He looked around without ever finding anyone.

NAH!

The ice underneath cracked and Ray emerged from underneath, his two daggers outstretched and giving a long wound from his stomach to his chest.

“FARAT!” Regulus raised his hand high, with the elbow he smashed Ray's head.

Fresh blood flowed, he felt confident of his victory. But the sight of her eliminating another illusion appeared. The one who attacked him just now was also a shadow.

“Where is the original?!” Regulus searched the surroundings again, again finding no one.

“This is your end-!”

Hearing the loud noise, Regulus looked up and found Ray free-falling towards him, with both blades shining brightly.

‘Once, he made use of the bright light from his illusory power to jump high!’

Ray also secretly keeps his illusory shadow underground where Regulus rests. Seven Shadow, Ray deliberately said so because there were actually eight shadows. He had previously created one shadow with the lower type of Seven Shadow that was — First Shadow. This magic is really useful because Ray is able to create a certain amount of shadows.

“Aria Of Destruction!”

Regulus' body split in two, along with Endless Dream which split into two halves in a perfect cut.

“Cannot ... lose.” The last words Regulus spoke before losing consciousness for good.

Ray sat down limply, breathing gasp. He stared at the slowly shattered world, its parts starting to disappear as if they had never existed. Soon a golden light came from the sky, a warm feeling enveloped him and pulled himself out of place.
