LET ME BE HAPPY

LET ME BE HAPPY
chapter 18

My sister preferred to be quiet throughout the trip. Devin was still trying to temper his emotions. However, Candra had alluded to her status as a husband.

The car they drive enters Devin's parents' yard. Mama Intan who stood on the terrace to welcome the arrival of his favorite son and daughter-in-law, while papa Bima still works in the office.

Adinda get down first. Then he approached the mother-in-law. Grabbing Mama Intan's hand and kissing the back of her father-in-law's hands reverent. Followed by Devin who did the same.

"Let's go in, baby." Mama Intan held Adinda's arm, leading her to enter her house.

They sat on the couch in the living room. Mama Intan really misses the atmosphere of family warmth like this. In the past, when Mother Mila was alive, they often spent time together. The face of Adinda is so similar to the mother, at least it can treat the longing of Mama Intan on her best friend.

"Said Devin, you're going to live in an apartment right?" mama Intan asked to confirm what Devin said a moment ago by phone.

"Yes Ma," replied Adinda nodding steadily.

Actually, Mama Intan was very eager to tell Devin and Adinda to stay in her house. But Devin remains adamant about staying in the apartment on the grounds of being independent.

"Stay here last night, honey. Mama still misses you at all," persuaded mama Intan while stroking Adinda's back.

"Next time, Ma. We still want to enjoy time together mumpung still on leave." Devin said so because he did not want Mama Intan suspicious about her marriage relationship that is not in accordance with the expectations of the mother.

"Huft, fine, but you must often tengokin Mama and Papa and do not forget, quickly make Mama a lot of grandchildren so Mama is not lonely anymore." With a heavy heart, Mama Intan allows her son and daughter-in-law to live together in Devin's apartment.

Adinda and Devin looked at each other. What a request of Mama Intan this one is difficult to realize by Adinda and Devin. Let alone a lot, just one they can't seem to grant.

 ---

A few days later Adinda and Devin have returned to their usual activities. During the holidays, Adinda uses it to fall and draw. While Devin? I don't know. Every day I always go out of the house. The reason is, want to meet clients. Even though Adinda knew that Devin was given a vacation for a week.

This morning Adinda struggled with all the ingredients and kitchen utensils. Prepare food for their breakfast. After she finished, Adinda called Devin for breakfast.

"Dev, breakfast first!" yelled Adinda from the kitchen.

"Yes for a minute!" devin replied from the direction of the room. Devin put down the tie he was wearing. Then step into the kitchen to eat the dishes that have been served by Adinda.

Devin sits himself on the dining table chair opposite Adinda. Devin was actually not used to eating heavy meals at breakfast. I don't know why all the dishes that Adinda serves can not be missed. As now, Adinda's cooking seemed to arouse her taste.

Adinda took a plate and filled it with rice along with side dishes. And then he handed it to Devin. Then take it back for himself.

They eat in silence. There was only the sound of clanking plates and spoons clashing. Every now and then Adinda steals a glance towards Devin. Adinda was happy to see Devin so greedy to eat his cooking.

"Where does Dev feel?" Every time he presented his work in the kitchen, Adinda always asked Devin about the taste of his cooking.

"That's always good to you." Devin put down the spoon he was holding. Then he held his two thumbs up towards Adinda.

"Din, can you just stop working?" devin asked after they had breakfast.

"Why indeed?" ask back Adinda.

"It's okay Din. Is it wrong for a husband to tell his wife not to work anymore? Moreover, I don't like you getting too close to Candra." Devin was not willing. Moreover, seeing the appearance of Adinda today is simple but impressed s**y. It is certain that the p******n male will look at him like a hungry lion. Even Devin had earlier continued to steal a glance towards Adinda.

"Well, there's nothing wrong with Dev, but if I don't work, where do I get the money to pay for my life after a year of marriage? Yes, even though you promised to provide compensation, but I still want to be an independent woman" explained Adinda at length.

"Some of you are weird Dev. Why talk about Candra? Candra is my past, but that doesn't mean I can't be friends with her, right? After all, not one of the points of our agreement is prohibited from interfering in each other's personal affairs. I've never even protested every day being left alone, whereas you'd rather be with Liona spend the whole day" Adinda continued. He was very surprised by Devin's attitude that was too possessive after marriage.

"Is Devin jealous? Ah, it's impossible," said Adinda.

"All right, it's up to you!" Devin moved from his seat. Step into the room to get ready to go to the office.

She cleaned the dining table and washed it. Devin enters the room. Adinda grabbed the tie that Devin thrust and put it on. Afterwards Devin drove Adinda to the boutique.

 ---

"Why loe?" tanya Aditya looked at Devin who checked the report file occasionally exhaling a long breath.

"Wrongly, if I'm not letting my wife work?" asked Devin while massaging his forehead.

Aditya shakes his head, but for what Devin forbids Adinda from working even though he knows that this job is one of Adinda's dreams since childhood.

"Gue had forbidden Adinda from doing work, but he even mentioned the agreement that had been agreed." Devin really felt uncomfortable letting Adinda continue to work. His mind is not calm. Moreover, Candra increasingly aggressively approached Adinda.

"Where does the problem go? Loe knows himself being a designer is a dream Adinda since childhood. You should support Adinda dong Dev! Especially now that Adinda's boutique has begun to be known by many people." Aditya does not understand the way his best friend thinks. Whereas before they were married, Devin always supported every desire of Adinda.

"Gue just doesn't like Adinda being teased by her ex-boyfriend" I'm honest Devin.

"What's? So you're jealous?" ask Aditya.

"Gue's not jealous. I just don't like them getting too close." Devin denies that he is jealous. Jealousy is a sign of love. While Devin still considers Adinda is only a friend.

Devin could only sigh deeply. He also did not understand why he became this possessive. Of jealousy? Of course he denies it. His love for Liona is so great. In fact, he will be very happy to obey every desire of his lover.

"Thank God you're not jealous. That means I still have a chance to melt your sister's heart." Aditya imagined if that time had come. Sitting together in the pelaminan hand in hand with a loving friendly gaze. Aditya smiled so sweetly that Devin's pen-throw drew him from the reverie.

"Aaawww" ringis Aditya. The pen throw from Devin is right about the temple. No injuries but it hurts.

Devin stared intently at Aditya. Aditya can expect his friend's wife and say it in front of Devin directly.
