LET ME BE HAPPY

LET ME BE HAPPY
chapter 66

Devin POV...

Last night I didn't go straight to my parents' house. However, I've already notified them if I slide straight into Adinda's place. After a long time I did not meet face to face with him, my longing for Adinda became even more passionate.

I stayed at a hotel not far from Adinda's residence. So I can be in time to meet him. Ah, it feels very impatient to meet and pin the ring that I have prepared with all my heart.

I set my foot on the balcony of the hotel where I was staying. I stretched my hand out to breathe the fresh air in the morning. Kurogoh my phone to contact Adinda, but still remain inactive like last night. I tried to call back repeatedly, but it stayed the same. I finally decided to have breakfast first.

After breakfast, I went back to my room. Open a gallery containing photos of the beautiful girl I miss so much. Finally after a long time can only stare at his picture, today I will be reunited with the owner of this heart. Who else if not Adinda, my ex-wife.

Aahh, why does it hurt when the former predicate is pinned? That's the truth, but can I turn back the clock and fix all that mess?

I can only hope that this meeting can reunite us. It is my hope that Adinda still holds the same taste in me as in the past.

I scroll through the gallery showing a portrait of the woman I love. Imagining a moment to meet him, making this heart beat erratically.

Then I pressed Adinda's number to call her back. Thank God, finally connected. However, my smile faded when my call was only connected but not lifted. I called back, but it still wasn't picked up. I finally decided to send him a message. Being read but not answered makes me feel anxious.

I was almost desperate for almost two hours, but there was no reply. But finally a reply message notification from Adinda made my smile back. He sent us the location of the restaurant as the place where we would meet. I was getting ready to meet him soon.

I immediately looked for the figure of Adinda when I arrived at the restaurant that Adinda had recommended. I smiled broadly as I looked at Adinda who was sitting by the window. I hastened my steps to get there. However, the sight I saw made me slow down my footsteps.

A baby? Whose baby is that? Is it possible that Adinda is married again and that baby is their child? Or maybe the baby is my baby? So many questions suddenly flashed in my mind.

"Din" called me when I was around.

My sister turned to me straight away. She smiled and of course that smile made my heart rustle happily.

"Dev, how are you?" she still had a smile that she offered to me.

"Good, Din. Th-this?" I was a little nervous while pointing at the baby who was in Adinda's arms.

"This little baby is our son. Her name is Devina Aulia Putri. Called Vina." Adinda stroked the cheeks of the little baby who was still asleep was full of affection.

Deg.

I really didn't think I was a father now. I was both happy and sad to learn this fact. However, I can understand the attitude of Adinda considering the incident. Even that incident made me feel sorry until now.

"May I carry it?" my many.

Adinda nodded and gave Vina to me. The little baby in my arms slowly opened his eyes and smiled sweetly as if he understood that he was currently in the arms of his biological father.

Without feeling I shed tears seeing Vina who warmly welcomed my arrival. I stroked the cheeks of the little baby I had neglected while in the womb.

Had I not obeyed my ego and realized my feelings earlier, I might have been the happiest man. Sitting together at a table like this with the status of a small family intact. However, I can only imagine that time cannot be re-created.

"Sorry, because I just told you this time," said Adinda who broke my daydream.

"I understand. Anyway, I should be the one apologizing" I said.

I wipe away the tears that slide freely on my cheek. I looked at my lady full of longing. Even though Adinda turned her face away, at least I knew that she had forgiven me.

"Thank you for bringing Vina into the world. Although I know for sure it feels very difficult," I added.

At the time all pregnant women should be accompanied by her husband, but Adinda actually struggled through all that itself. I feel like an irresponsible man.

"Then, what about my offer?" I asked again to make Adinda look at me.

"Give a whole family to Vina," I replied steadily. I don't want my little daughter to grow up in a broken home and become the subject of her friends later.

"I'm sorry, I can't" said Adinda. Now it's my turn to frown.

"Why Din?" my many. I'm sure that Adinda still loves me through those eyes, but why did she turn down my offer?

"Because, I'm married" replied Adinda, turning her face away.

Jedeerr...

Like being struck by lightning when the answer is said. I was stunned when I heard an answer I didn't want to hear. However, I tried to toughen up and received it with chest area. Even deep down, I still wish I could live with the woman who is now sitting in front of me.

"Congratulations, I'm happy if you're happy" I said.

There was a throbbing pain when I said that word. However, I will try to be sincere. If you are happy, I feel that happiness too. But in the end it wasn't me who made her happy.

"Dev, then I say yes," said Adinda after a long time we chat like friends.

"All right." I forced my smile even though I was not willing to go back to parting with him. Because honestly I still want to linger with him.

"I'll take you, yeah" I bargained.

"Thank you Dev, but my husband is waiting for me in front." I closed my eyes for a moment when the predicate of the husband was no longer for me.

"How about I take you forward. All right, I want to get to know our father, too." I want to know the lucky male figure chosen by Adinda.

"Alright" he answered. Yes Rabb, your smile has melted my heart.

We left the restaurant after I first paid our order bill. I will take Adinda to the place where her husband is waiting for her.

There was a man coming out of a luxury car. He approached us who were walking towards him. Maybe he was the husband of Adinda. I've seen it before, but where?

"It's over?" ask the man.

"It has. Oh yes Brother, meet me, this is Devin my ex-husband. Dev, this is Ivan's brother, my husband," said Adinda introducing us both.

"I am Ivan, the husband of Adinda," said the man named Ivan as he extended his hand to me.

"Devin," I welcomed the hand and introduced myself.

"We say yes, there is still other business" said Ivan.

"Alright, thank you for allowing me to meet with Adinda and our son" I said.

"Sama-sama. However you guys are good friends in the past and Vina should also know who her real father is. So, I have no reason not to allow." I am grateful that at least this man in front of me is a good man. Although it is undeniable that there is jealousy approaching.

"Then we say yes Dev" said Adinda.

"Yes, Din," I said.

I took turns shaking the hand of Adinda and her husband. Don't forget I also found my little baby full of love.

I stared at the four-wheel drive that was getting further and further out of sight. Now, I am alone who must fight again to calm this feeling. It hurts a lot, but I have to face a reality I never expected.
