LET ME BE HAPPY

LET ME BE HAPPY
chapter 23

"Aaahhhh," cried Adinda.

Gegas Devin came out of the bathroom when he heard Adinda's scream. Devin walked over to Adinda who was sitting crouching on the bed.

"Why Din?" ask Devin.

"Kecoak Dev," Adinda replied without looking at Devin. His eyes closed tightly.

"Where are the cockroaches in this room Din," refuted Devin. Where might he believe, while the room is clean and tidy.

"Don't Dev, it was escaping there," said Adinda, pointing under the bed, where she had seen the ludicrous insect blur.

"Where? There was no Din" said Devin.

Adinda opened her eyes and saw where the cockroach had been, but she found nothing. Adinda breathed a sigh of relief. Adinda turned to Devin, but a second later she screamed loudly.

"Aaaahhhh, cockroach," point Adinda towards Devin. Sontak Adinda jumped out of bed and ran into the bathroom.

Devin could only gawk at the behavior of Adinda. Out of curiosity, he followed the line of sight that Adinda had pointed out.

"Aahhhh." Devin also shouted no less loudly when he realized the cockroach that Adinda meant was not the actual cockroach, but the Black Dragon who escaped from his cage. Lucky room Devin soundproof. So, he did not have to worry that the whole house would be stirred by his screams and Adinda.

Gegas Devin ran towards the closet. He grabbed his clothes and immediately put them on. Adinda ran away, because Devin came out of the bathroom without a thread.

"Basic sloppy." Devin cursed to himself.

Devin really lost face in front of Adinda. He could have done something so embarrassing repeatedly. Even though their status is a halal couple, it is still embarrassing.

Devin walked towards the bathroom after finishing putting on his clothes. He had not had time to wudhu because he was in a hurry when he heard the cry of Adinda. In fact, the towel forgot to wear.

"The boy had escaped Din" said Devin, knocking on the bathroom door.

Adinda opens the bathroom door. He looked at Devin carefully. Adinda lowered her gaze when she faced Devin. His face warmed up in light of the incident.

"Hmm, I-I want to take Din's wudhu," Devin stuttered. Shame, of course.

She came out of the bathroom and walked into the closet. He chose the clothes he would wear. After that he took her to the next room, the room he had occupied while in this house.

It did not take long, now Adinda has finished with her lightning bath ritual. Gegas Adinda wears the clothes she was carrying. Not to forget he polished thin powder and lipstick to perfect his appearance.

When she finished, Adinda stepped towards the door. However, he had not yet opened it, the door had already opened. Devin's head poked out from the direction of the door that was slowly opening. Devin stood in the doorway with an awkward looking facial expression.

"Hmm, you're done with Din?" ask Devin nervously. Oh come on, why is this situation more stressful than facing the clients.

"I-iya Dev," replied Adinda no less nervous.

"Down yuk," asked Devin, "Mama must be waiting for us."

Adinda just nodded. It was difficult for him to speak when his mind went crazy somewhere. Adinda followed Devin's steps who had gone up the stairs. Then they went down together to the family room. Mama Intan who was sitting relaxed while reading the newspaper.

"Have you not come home yet?" ask Devin to his mother.

"It's not a pity, he said he was still on the road, maybe soon to come" said Mama Intan.

"Yes Ma." She smiled at Mama Intan. He is happy to have in-laws as good as Mama Intan who already considers him like his own child.

Devin sat on the other sofa facing Adinda. He must admit that Adinda looks beautiful even though she always looks simple. In fact, when compared with Liona, Adinda is no less beautiful even without a thick makeup polish.

"Have there been any signs of love?" asked Mama Intan as her hand stroked the mane of the son-in-law.

"What signs are Ma?" ask Adinda. He did not understand what Mama Intan meant.

"You've been married for two months, are there no signs of a future grandchild for Mama?" mama Intan asked expectantly.

Adinda and Devin looked at each other. They know that Mama Intan is very much expecting the presence of a grandchild from their marriage. However, it was an impossible wish they had realized.

"Ma, it's still two months, right. We still want to enjoy our time as newlyweds. Is that right, sweetheart?" tanya Devin glanced at Adinda.

Adinda blushed with the affectionate call Devin said. If this is a dream, it feels like Adinda does not want to wake up quickly. Ah, too bad this is not a dream, but it also cannot be a reality.

"Yes Ma, Adinda and Devin still want to adjust first Ma," said Adinda. Adinda could not bear to see the look of Mama Intan's hopeful look, but let time will answer everything.

"All right, it's up to you. Whatever your decision as long as you are happy, Mama will always support it" said Mama Intan. Actually he was a little disappointed, but he also did not want to force his will.

There was a roar of the sound of papa Bima's car engine parked in the garage. Soon papa Bima entered the house and found his wife, children, and daughter-in-law gathered in the family room.

"Assalamualaikum" said papa Bima.

"Waalaikumsalam," they answered in unison.

"It's been a while?" ask Papa Bima who addressed Devin and Adinda.

"New Pa," replied Devin.

They took turns to greet papa Bima. Shortly afterwards there was the sound of adzan maghrib reverberating. They pray together in the family mosque, except Adinda because she is idolatrous.

After praying, they gathered in the family room, while Adinda helped bi Inah prepare dinner. Adinda is happy to be in the middle of the Devin family. He will enjoy every moment of family that he may never be able to enjoy again in the future.

When they finished, Adinda called them to dinner. They eat in silence. There was only the sound of clanking plates and spoons clashing.

"Ma, Pa, I'm the same as Adinda coming home" said Devin. They are now gathered in the family room.

"Well, don't you want to stay here Dev?" ask mama Intan.

"Yes Dev, this is also your home" said papa Bima.

"No Ma, Pa. I'm the same Adinda wants to go back to the apartment" Devin said.

"Eatya quickly make Mama and Papa many grandchildren, so that these parents do not feel lonely," said Mama Intan.

"Yes, therefore, Ma, we want to return to the apartment to be more free to produce grandchildren for Mama and Papa, "as well as Devin.

Adinda was embarrassed. Devin could talk that casual discussing something personal to his parents. Adinda was just silent, not daring to make a sound. Let Devin be the one who creates lies for the sake of lies.

Deep down, Adinda hopes Devin can accept her as a real wife. He only wants to get married once in a lifetime. Like the mother who is willing to widow until the end of her life. But he can only hope. He goes wherever the current will take him.
