The tears did not stop flowing. The mound of red soil that was still wet in front of him seemed to be a witness to how his heart was now overwhelmed. The mourners one by one stepped away. Now, only Adinda, Devin and his parents, Intan Wijaya and Bima Wijaya.
"Mother, why should we part like this? Adin has not been able to make Mother happy like Adin's promise. Adin does not know, if Adin can live Adin's life only alone," said Adinda in between sobs.
Intan squatted down beside Adinda. Bringing Adinda into his arms. He also felt very lost. Intan and Mila grew up together in an orphanage. However, Mila's fate was not as lucky as hers. Fathan loves Mila very much. However, their love is hindered by blessing, so the tragic accident that befell Fathan adds to their hate points against Mila.
"Propay for me, dear. Adinda is not alone. There's Auntie, Om, and also Devin. We will always be there for you, dear." Intan stroked that frail back with teary eyes. Intan took off his embrace and rubbed the top of Adinda's head. "Seeklaskan, so that your bunda quiet in nature there dear." Intan rubbed tears that did not stop flowing on Adinda's cheeks.
"God willing Adinda Aunty." Adinda likes a thin smile even though her lips still feel stiff just to smile.
"Then we'd better get home. It's gonna rain." Bima said as she looked up at the dark-looking sky.
They left the funeral. Intan and Bima walked side by side with their hands in friendly ties, while Adinda and Devin in the back were awkward. Devin occasionally steals a glance towards Adinda. His heart was also broken to see his friend sad like this.
Devin reached for Adinda's hand and took her in his. Adinda stopped her steps immediately. He turned to Devin and his hands in turn. Adinda let go of her hand in Devin's grasp, making Devin misbehave.
"Sorry," Devin shrieked as he scratched his non-itchy nape.
"Hm." The younger sister resumed her steps following Devin's parents who had arrived outside the cemetery.

A month has passed. Life must go on even if it feels no longer the same. Not to forget, but to keep it in the corner of the heart as a memory. Now, Adinda can rise little by little. Living busy taking care of the boutique with two friends during college first, Sinta and Alia. A moment of his busy life diverted him from feeling empty without a mother and most importantly now he no longer felt alone.
Tok to tok.
"Lake in!" Adinda allows someone who knocks on her room to enter.
"Din, it's lunch time. You bring supplies, do I want to order?" sinta asked as she stepped in and sat down on the chair in front of Adinda's desk.
"Later I'll order it myself. I still want to finish this first, the responsibility." Adinda replied with a smile.
Sinta scanned the papers scattered on Adinda's desk. He breathed out slowly. His best friend, if he has been working, is too focused. I often miss lunch.
"Rest first is Din. Me and Alia wait for you, you see," persuaded Sinta
"You two take a break first."
"But Din-"
"Assalamualaik." The sentence of Sinta was cut off by the call of greeting from the direction of the open door.
"Getishalight." They answered and turned to the origin of the voice.
"You haven't had lunch yet, have you? Coincidentally today aunty cooks a lot. So, we eat together. Sinta, please call Alia in front tell her to come here," Intan ordered while arranging food on the table.
Sinta nodded and immediately stepped out to call Alia, while Adinda stepped towards the sofa where Intan was waiting for her. Soon, they gathered to eat together.
---
"Adinda, there's something Aunt wants to talk to you about." Intan invites Adinda to talk after they only live together in the workspace.
"What do you want to say, Auntie?" ask Adinda.
"Then, when your aunt and your mother were still living in an orphanage, we were 2 inseparable friends, until we had our own lives. In the past, we promised to always be together in joy and sorrow. However, we realized that there was a time when we established a married life when our soul mate was found. And so, we changed the promise we made." Intan paused his sentence then smiled looking at Adinda who was still loyal to listen.
"You want to know what your aunt and her mother promised you first?" Tina asked Adinda. His hand stroked the beautiful mane of the daughter of the friend who had been calm in nature there.
Adinda nodded while guessing. The promise of what has been made between the mother and aunt Intan, so that he felt the need to talk to her about this.
Intan took a breath and exhaled slowly before returning to talk about the promise he had to fulfill immediately.
"Your aunt and mother promised to betroth our children if they were born with a different kind of k****n and Auntie's purpose came here to propose you to be Aunt's daughter-in-law," intan explained at length the contents of the unwritten agreement he had agreed with Mila.
Adinda shock digested word by word that was said Intan just now. Adinda is happy if you have to be betrothed to a man who has stolen her heart all this time. However, on the other hand Adinda is not sure that Devin will receive this matchmaking considering the incident at the cafe the other day.
"How, do you want to be Aunt's daughter-in-law? So Devin's wife?" Intan asked once again to see Adinda who was still silent.
"Hmm, but Auntie, Adinda and Devin were in office since Tan's childhood. So, how could we suddenly marry Auntie?" ask Adinda
"It is precisely because you have been friends since childhood. So, it will be easier for you to adjust to life after marriage later. It could be because you're used to it. So, what else are you worried about, honey?" Intan still insisted on persuading Adinda to accept this matchmaking.
She exhaled softly and then nodded her head even though her heart was still doubtful.
"Alhamdulillah, thank you dear." Intan carried Adinda in his arms.
"Yes, but Aunt ..." Doubtful Adinda said what was now on her mind.
"But what's the darling?" intan asked as he broke his embrace.
"Hmmm it ... What about Devin's own Aunt?" Adinda lowered her head.
"Devin loves you, Din. Devin is also a submissive child. Devin's business let Aunt take care of it. You calm down, dear." A smile never faded adorning the face of the middle-aged woman. The happy essence of his dreams and his friends will soon be realized even though now his friends are in a different dimension.
Will Devin accept the match? Or simply refuse the proposition of friendship?
