LET ME BE HAPPY

LET ME BE HAPPY
chapter 42

Adinda POV

"I'm-I'm pregnant." I stared at the small, flat object that was now in my grasp.

"No, no way." I shook my head. I still can't believe the real evidence in my hands.

I took another strip testpack and dipped it back in the urine I had stored in a clean container. Again, the result is the same. Feeling unsatisfied, I repeat. This time not one, but all the remaining eight testpacks I dipped together.

"God, why did all this happen? What am I supposed to do now?" shirihku.

I stared at all the testpacks in my hand with mixed feelings. My body slid to the floor with a stifled cry. It's not that I don't want any other life in this body. I'm grateful, very grateful, just that for now I'm not ready. Moreover, my psychic condition is still not fully stable. I am still traumatized by this incident.

How do I hide my pregnancy from Devin? This stomach will get bigger as my pregnancy continues to grow. I didn't want Devin to find out and make it an excuse to tie me back. I don't want to be entangled again by a love that only makes me hurt.

I flushed this body. Let me think about all that later. For now let this be a personal secret.

At breakfast together, I don't know why my appetite just evaporated. The food that looks delicious on my plate is just quilted without any intention of tasting it. My mind wandered far away, somehow I ended up having my pregnancy without a husband. If most women out there get pregnant after marriage, but it's another case with me who gets pregnant after separation.

"Well, haven't you eaten yet, honey?" asked opa when she realized my plate was still intact.

I flinched from my daydream. I saw them looking at me questioningly. I smiled towards them. Should I tell them about this pregnancy? Because there's no way I can hide it from them for too long.

"What's up, hmm? Is there anything that bothers the mind of Oma's beautiful granddaughter?" ask oma while stroking the mane of my broken banner.

"Nothing, Oma," I replied. I took a breath and exhaled slowly.

"Then eat. I don't want you to get sick anymore" said Dad.

"Yes, Dad." In the end the food on this plate I eat because I do not want to mubadzir. I bribed little by little this food into my mouth. It feels bland when the mind is wandering in an uncertain direction.

After breakfast, I decided to take a break in my room. I don't know why my body lately feels tired. Is this because of the effects of my pregnancy? I smiled as I stroked my flat stomach.

Tok tok tok tok

The knock on my bedroom door instantly diverted my attention from the thought of this pregnancy.

"Darling, can Oma come in?" ask oma.

"Yes, Oma, just a minute." I walk towards the door. I accidentally locked the door because I was still afraid Devin was acting recklessly when no one was in the house.

I opened the door and shifted my body a little. I let oma into this room. Oma stepped in and sat on the sofa that was in my room. I also sat beside me.

"Honey, Oma knows, there must be something you're thinking about. Try to tell the same Oma. Oma is ready to be a loyal listener," he said.

"So, are you pregnant?" ask oma. I nodded and ran into oma's embrace.

"What should Adin do Oma? Adin's not ready to get pregnant yet, but Adin doesn't want to have an abortion either." These tears I can't hold anymore.

"Hust, what are you talking about? There is no such thing as abortion, sin. Don't worry, honey. There's Oma, dad and opa who will always be there for you. So, never have a thought to abort your womb. Oma hasn't heard a baby's cry in this house for a long time." Oma broke her embrace and wiped the tears that were still running down my cheek.

I smiled happily. I feel lucky, when I am down there are still people who love me so much. Moreover, oma, it can be said that he is a person who will always be in my joys and sorrows.

After a day of silence in my room, I decided to take a short walk in the garden for a breath of fresh air. Soon I went to the bathroom to refresh myself.

However, just now that I entered the bathroom I suddenly felt dizzy, this head felt spinning. My body feels weak and not powered. I fumbled through the wall to find a handle. The longer the pain becomes unbearable. In the end, my body was frozen in the cold bathroom floor.

When I opened my eyes, it looked like this room was in a dominating white color. The smell of drugs filled my sense of smell.

"Darling, already conscious," asked oma.

Oma then pressed the button on the side wall of the cage to call the doctor. I tried to sit up, but my head still felt throbbing pain.

"Honey, here Oma help." Oma helped me to sit from my fall.

"Thank you, Oma," I said weakly. I don't have the energy to just talk.

Shortly after, a doctor entered the room. He smiled at me, then started to check on me.

"How's Doc, how's my grandson doing?" oma asked the doctor I knew named 'Ivan Nickolas Pradana' from the name tag on her great outfit.

"The condition has improved a lot, but it is better to stay for a few days first," replied Ivan's doctor, "Don't think too much of his health to recover quickly," said Ivan's doctor to me.

Doctor Ivan looked at me with an inexplicable glance. I looked down not wanting to sit too long with a doctor who has a facial line that makes women melt. Firm jaw, thick eyebrows, thin sideburns, and thick pink lips that look tempting in my eyes. I shook my head to expel the thought that began to be contaminated by the good looks of one of God's creations before me.

"Why, is anyone sick?" ask doctor Ivan worried.

I raised my head. Doctor Ivan looked at me with such a charming smile. I was wrong with his behavior.

"Ehem." I looked at the thumping oma. I almost forgot about the oma in this room. I saw oma smiling meaningfully. I must have thought I liked Doctor Ivan because it looked wrong. Oh, of course not!

"Oma stay first, honey. Oma's gonna go get a little meal. Father and opa are still on the way, soon to arrive" said oma after Ivan's doctor came out a while ago.

I nodded in agreement. I tried to close my eyes after the oma passed from this room. Soon, however, a creaking door sounded. I opened my eyes and looked at the door.

"You ...."
