"Alvin." cried Karina.
The girl hurriedly ran over, "You okay?"
Alvin did not answer. The young man closed his eyes because he could not open them. Seeing that Karina took the initiative to help the young man wake up.
Karina who had grabbed Alvin's arm had to round her eyes because she realized the temperature of the young man's body was high.
"You're hot, Alvin. You're feverish. It's worth your face looks pale." said Karina.
"What are you trying to do?
"You don't see. I'm trying to help you. Especially her?"
"I don't need your help. So stay away from me." said Alvin pushing Karina's hand out. He tried to get up while holding his head so dizzy.
Previously Alvin felt his gaze had blackened and suddenly he had fallen to the floor. Alvin was all about himself because he really didn't want Karina to help him but he didn't know why his body felt so weak at the moment.
"look, right? You rejected me again. You should have seen your condition first, Alvin. You can't even stand up properly but still want to be stubborn and refuse my help."
Karina again tries to touch Alvin but the young man again refuses.
"Stop refusing my help. I just want to help you." Karina said in a flat tone. "So let me help you this once, okay?"
"Karina-"
"Shut up!" cut Karina quickly. He was really upset right now because Alvin just continued to refuse his help even though he was sick
The girl quickly put Alvin's arm over her shoulder, wrapping it around her neck. "Can you stand still? If I can't, I'll get help from the people around me. It's four o'clock in the morning, maybe someone's passing by."
Alvin nodded doubtfully, "Can."
"Yes, come on, let me help you stand."
Alvin who felt a dizzy who chose not to say anything and just obey his ex-lover. He let Karina help and carried her into the room even with a staggering step.
"The neighbors will see you here" Alvin said between his steps.
Karina glanced at Alvin then scolded.
"I don't care about your neighbors" Karina said as she continued to help lead Alvin.
Karina wondered why this young man was so worried about what the surrounding neighbors would think.
"Where's your room?" ask Karina.
"Fin' there." Alvin pointed to one of the rooms in the house. "The room is at the corner."
Karina doesn't know where Alvin's room is. During their relationship, Karina never entered Alvin's house. Yes, he did know Alvin's house because he had delivered the young man several times when he came home from college but never entered like this.
Arriving at Alvin's room, Karina quickly laid Alvin's limp onto the bed.
"Be careful." said Karina helping Alvin slowly, as if she was guarding an antique.
Karina just wanted to cover Alvin's body with a blanket but stopped when she saw Alvin's clothes that looked wet from sweating.
"Your clothes are wet" said Karina.
No response from Alvin. The young man looked grimacing withstanding the pain. Alvin couldn't help it the most if he was sick, Karina knew that clearly.
"I'll change your clothes first." Karina muttered in the end.
Karina then runs to Alvin's wardrobe. He ransacked the young man's closet in search of a change of clothes.
As soon as she got what she was looking for, Karina immediately ran towards Alvin again to replace the young man's clothes with drier clothes.
But just as Karina was about to open the wet t-shirt she was wearing, the young man quickly opened his eyes.
"What do you want?" alvin asked limply but with a cold face.
Karina looked at Alvin for a few seconds before replying.
"I want to change your clothes. Especially her?"
"No need to change. Just leave my clothes like this. You just go home now. I can take care of myself from now on. I want to take a nap to ease my pain."
"Your clothes are soaked in sweat" Karina said firmly. The girl did not seem to care about the words of the young man who was driving her away.
"Karina listen
"You listen to me, Alvin!" karina Sentak. "I'm trying to help you. Just shut up for a second."
Alvin closed his eyes as his gaze blackened for a few seconds. He felt pain in his head. 'Sal, why should I be sick now?' inner Alvin.
Seeing Alvin who seemed silent, Karina continued her activities.
"Just calm. I'm just changing your shirt." said Karina slowly helping to remove Alvin's clothes and replace them with dry clothes.
"Look, it's not even long" Karina said after she finished changing Alvin's clothes.
Alvin was silent for a while before he looked at Karina and let out a long sigh.
"Karina, I thank you for your help tonight. But I think it'd be better if you just go." Alvin whispered in his voice.
Karina raised her eyebrows, "Why?"
"It's not good if anyone sees you in my room."
"You want me to leave you alone here, do you?" Karina asked in a cold tone. "You want me to let you in when you're like this?"
"I'm not alone. I can ask someone to come."
Alvin grabbed his phone from his pants pocket and typed something.
"What do you want?" ask Karina.
"Call Dave."
"Why did you contact him? Want Dave to come over here and accompany you?" asked Karina but not influenced by Alvin.
Karina quickly snatched the phone that Alvin was holding.
"What are you doing, Karina!"
"It's almost dawn and you're still gonna bother your best friend. You don't see me here. I can take my time to help you."
"But I don't want to be with you." declined Alvin.
Karina just shut up. He looked at Alvin. The girl put Alvin's phone on the nightstand and put Alvin's wet clothes into a dirty laundry basket near the door.
And, after changing the young man's clothes, Karina headed for the kitchen to pick up the basin filled with water and took out her handkerchief to make a compress.
As soon as he returned to the room he saw Alvin had closed his eyes. Karina sighed while putting the basin on the nightstand.
"Actually how was your life after we split up, Alvin?" Karina asked Alvin who was still closing his eyes after putting a compress on the young man's forehead.
Karina was shocked when Alvin's hand suddenly grabbed her arm. "Alvin. What are you-"
"Don't go. please..."
"What?"
"I miss you."
Karina.
"Is Alvin delirious right now?"
Karina checked Alvin's forehead with the back of her hand. This young man's fever was so high that it made him delirious like this.
Karina smiled. His heart was overjoyed after hearing Alvin hold him off.
"Calm down. I'm not leaving." replied Karina happily.
The young man said nothing more. It seems to have really fallen asleep.
Karina sighed then stroked the young man's cheek. "Well, I admit that I'm too cruel to you." he murmured.
After taking care of everything that Alvin needs, Karina checks the clock on the wall of Alvin's house. It's clear it's almost 04:00 in the morning.
Karina still seemed to be sitting next to Alvin's bed with tired eyes and a hint of guilt that inexplicably began to re-emerge in his heart even remembering everything he had done to Alvin.
Karina is really sorry and doesn't want to make Alvin feel hurt more than ever. He admitted that Alvin was very fragile. The young man would be easily saddened even if someone insulted him.
Quietly comes the idea in Karina's head that wants to keep Alvin as long as the young man is sick.
"I think I'll stay here tonight." He muttered to himself.
Karina stroked the top of Alvin's head.
"What's this. We've broken up, but I still care about you." she rubbed Alvin's cheek.
