Evelyn got down from Daniel's car with a faint smile on her face. He then closed Daniel's car door.
A few eyes stared at him. As usual, Evelyn's presence always steals anyone's attention.
After tidying up the clothes she was wearing, Evelyn stared at the watch in her hand for a while before then leaning over to look back inside the car window.
"You're late?" daniel asked as he looked towards the campus gate.
Evelyn stared at the campus gate and shook her head casually.
"No, it's on time" Evelyn replied, revealing a watch on her wrist.
"Good."
Evelyn smiled at her best friend in response.
"Sorry by the way that you've taken me to campus today" Evelyn told Daniel, clutching her sling bag.
"That's so sweet. It's not usual for your mouth to talk that sweet to me." Daniel quipped his best friend.
"What doyou mean. I've not always been so sweet."
"Be nice to Alvin, you mean?"
Eih, why are you even talking about someone else. Well, I'm just thankful for you." Evelyn flicked her hand, looking a shy smile as Alvin's name was called.
"You look ridiculous to be so embarrassed" Daniel said, chuckling "But it doesn't matter. I'm glad I could drive you this morning."
Evelyn nodded. I looked at Daniel with a bright smile today.
"And thank you for the breakfast" Evelyn said.
"You like it?"
"Lumayan." Evelyn nodded. "There are some foods that seem to be my favorite in the future."
"Then let's go there another time." take Daniel.
"No problem." Evelyn replied.
Daniel responded with a small nod while his eyes looked back at the campus Evelyn.
"Where's your faculty building? Is it close to here?" ask Daniel.
"Lumayan remote. I have to go a little far to get there. My faculty building goes in three to five minutes from the gate if you have to walk."
"You sure you don't want me to drive you straight to your faculty building?" ask Daniel to make sure.
"No need." Evelyn refused. "I can walk on my own from here."
"alright. Then I leave first." Daniel said and then restarted the engine.
"Again thanks. Good bye."
"Good bye."
Evelyn stared at Daniel's departure for a while until the car disappeared from her sight, before turning around and stepping into the campus.
Evelyn furrowed her brows when she saw that the one who called was her father.
"Geev!" mr. Anderson said as soon as Evelyn picked up her phone.
"Dad?" Evelyn exclaimed in wonder. Of course he was astonished. That's because his dad doesn't usually call him at this hour.
"You busy?" ask Mr. Anderson.
"Dad need something?" ask Evelyn.
"No." replied Mr. Anderson. A few seconds later Mr. Anderson spoke again. "There actually. There's something I want to talk to you about."
"Is there something you want to say?"
"true."
"Okay, what's this about?" ask Evelyn curiously.
"Look, I just met my dad's friend. He took his son to the meeting."
"Then?"
"Well, like you said. He's got a handsome son and I thought I could meet you when I went to Indonesia. So-so"
"Wait a minute, Dad!" Evelyn cut her father's words. "What do you mean, Dad? What are you trying to do?"
Mr. Anderson chuckled, "None. I just wanted to introduce you to this father's friend's son. You can go to dinner with her while she's on vacation in Indonesia, right?"
"No."
"Eve, this is just a regular dinner. What's problem?"
"This is no ordinary dinner. I know where our conversation is headed. Marriage, right?"
Mr. Anderson was silent.
"Come Daddy. There is no matchmaking in this era. Don't be weird, Dad. We've talked about this before."
"Eve, I just want to see you marry the right guy. That's all."
"If this right man is sought for me, then let me find him myself. Okay?"
"Eve, Dad just-"
"Dad, I'm currently on my way to my lecture hall. I'm kind of in a hurry now. We'll talk next time, yeah."
"But, Eve-"
Phone turned off. By Evelyn. Unilaterally. It was because he was tired of discussing the same theme every time his father contacted him.
Evelyn looked around. "Why does this matchmaking theme make me feel even more upset."
