This morning Alvin was waiting for a bus at a bus stop not far from his house. He decided to go to the campus by bus because his motorbike was still in the workshop. He didn't have enough time to take it.
Alvin looked around, wondering when the bus he was going to ride appeared. Alvin sighed as he leaned his back against the stop seat, tired of waiting.
"Why long time has it come. I can be late to campus this way." muttered Alvin as he stared at the clock on his phone screen with an agitated look.
Alvin glanced at an old man who was sitting waiting for a buyer near the stop.
"Excuse me, what time does the bus usually come?" alvin stepped closer to the seller.
"Where are you going, son?" The seller asked back.
"I'm heading to Nusa Dua Road. I've been here ten minutes but no bus came." explained Alvin, looking at the old man curiously.
"What a shame, son. The bus passed twenty minutes ago. If you want, you can wait about fifteen minutes and then the next bus will come."
"Ah, I'm late apparently "murm Alvin. His body immediately felt limp hearing that explanation. Yes, if you know this, he should have come early.
The salesman looked at Alvin from top to bottom, as if feeling astonished about something.
"Have you never been on a bus before, young man?" ask the seller in surprise.
Alvin scratched his non-itchy nape while smiling awkwardly. "It's actually my first day on the bus, sir."
"It is appropriate not to know what time the bus leaves" said the seller was bemused to understand the situation. "You can wait for the next bus to come."
"Thank you, sir. But I don't think I'll have time if I have to wait again. I just ride the ojek." said Alvin smiling knot.
The seller nodded. "All right."
"I'm sorry." said Alvin.
Alvin immediately stepped away from the bus stop, heading to the ojek base not far from where he is currently.
There will be no time for him if he wants to order an ojek online. He had to wait until the ojek came first. So he decided to use the base only.
Alvin shook his head in disbelief. He didn't know something like this was going to happen. If he had walked since then maybe already half way to the campus.
But there's no time for Alvin to complain about anything anymore. He must hurry if he does not want to be late to arrive at campus.
And then suddenly Alvin's phone shook, someone called him. Alvin looked at his phone. That's a call from Dave.
Alvin quickly shifted the green button on his phone screen and stuck it in the ear.
"What?" ask Alvin.
"Where are you? Not usually you haven't come to campus at this hour. Is late? Have you left for college or not?" spray Dave.
"I'm at the stop."
"Halte bis?"
"true."
"What are you doing at the stop?" Dave was silent for a while before returning to talk. "You want to go to college on a bus?"
"Yes, that's it." replied Alvin scratching his non-itchy cheeks. The situation that happened was quite frustrating for him himself. "But I missed the bus. So I have to ride the ojek now."
"A bad day apparently." said Dave chuckling. "Where is your bike anyway? Why do you have to take the bus?"
"My motor is still in the workshop. There was a problem yesterday, you forgot?" obviously Alvin.
"Ah, right too. How could I forget when your most beautiful ex drove you back then." Dave insinuates his best friend.
"I just didn't get to take it. I'll get my bike later." Alvin ignores Dave's innuendo.
"Then come quickly. First lecturers don't like it when students are late." asks Dave.
"Okay, okay." replied Alvin.
Alvin disconnects the phone then continues his steps, but his phone rings again.
This must be Dave again.
"Otherwise? If you keep calling me like this I'll never get to college." Alvin said impatiently.
"Alvin?"
Alvin was stunned to hear the gentle cry.
That's a woman's voice. Alvin furrowed his brows. He stared at the screen of his phone and alluded to himself as he read the name 'Evelyn' plastered on the screen.
"Oh, hi?" greet Alvin with an awkward tone.
"Why are you angry with me?" evelyn asked in a confused tone.
"No. I'm not mad. That's because I thought you were my nosy friend. Sorry for yelling at me."
"No problem. Where are you anyway? Why do I hear the sound of a vehicle?"
Evelyn's question made Alvin realize that he had to continue his steps toward where the ojek base was located.
"I was on my way to the motorcycle base" replied Alvin again twisting his steps.
"Text? You didn't have a motor?"
Alvin was secretly tired of himself having to keep explaining this kind of situation.
"Actually my bike is in the workshop. I'll pick it up later in the afternoon after college."
"Do you want me to pick it up?" haggle Evelyn suddenly.
"no need. I'll be at the base soon. Thanks for the offer." Alvin quickly rejected the call. "But why did you call? Is there anything to say?"
"Hm. So look at it. I actually want to take you to lunch together later. Can't you?" evelyn said with enthusiasm.
"Lunch?" Alvin was thinking if he had any other business this afternoon.
"You busy?"
"Ah, no. I'm not busy. I'm gonna come. You just send me the address."Alvin agreed to the invitation without even thinking. Going with Evelyn is a gift. He can't refuse it.
"But your bike is still in the workshop, right? Just look. I can come to pick you up later."
"No. You don't have to pick up. I'll go there by ojek later."
Hearing the rejection, Evelyn fell silent for a few seconds.
"Are you sure?" evelyn asked doubtfully.
"Yes, sure enough. It's not that hard anyway, is it?" Alvin.
Evelyn chuckled, "Then I'll send you the address later."
"I wait." replied Alvin smiling.
"Emmm.. Alvin's." Evelyn said again.
"Yes, Miss?"
"It will be great to see you this afternoon" Evelyn told him.
Alvin was surprised by Evelyn's remark, but then he smiled in a knot.
"Me too" said Alvin replying in a soft voice. "I'm also happy to meet you later..."
After Alvin said that, Evelyn immediately turned off the phone. While Alvin himself blushed while staring at the screen of his phone.
"What did I do? Why am I even smiling indistinctly?!" Alvin suddenly woke up.
He immediately put his phone back in the bag before looking at the base of the motorcycle in front of him.
"Luckily the motorcycle is still there."
