"Is it good?" evelyn asked as she looked at Alvin who had just bribed a spoonful of chicken porridge into her mouth.
Alvin nodded steadily.
"It's so good, Miss. My favorite food since High School."
"Is that so?"
"Yes, I eat this almost every day first."
Evelyn gave a brief nod in response then looked back at the bowl before her with a difficult-to-art look.
They are both sitting in a small shop on the side of the road.
They were enjoying the chicken with a hearty taste. Errata. Not them, only Alvin seemed to enjoy it. Evelyn has been silent since, holding a spoon in her hand.
Alvin who realized that Evelyn was just silent immediately stopped her eating activities and looked at Evelyn confused.
Since then the girl was just stirring the porridge in her bowl, looking doubtfully at the chicken porridge in the bowl.
"Why doesn't the lady eat the porridge?" ask Alvin then.
Evelyn regained her senses from her little daydream and looked at Alvin with an awkward smile.
How to explain to this young man before him. How could he have blatantly told Alvin that he was hesitant to eat the young man's favorite food.
Ah, let alone to eat food like this, seeing it in person is only today.
"Isn't it good for porridge?" ask Alvin again.
Evelyn smiled wryly. How answer? I can't even say if this food is good or not.
To be honest, Evelyn did not even know how this food in front of her felt. Call it Evelyn exaggerated, but Evelyn had never eaten food like this for as long as she lived.
As a matter of fact, from childhood he lived abroad until the age of fourteen. And once in Indonesia, none of his friends ever invited him to eat chicken porridge.
"Miss doesn't like it, does she?" alvin asked once more with an unpleasant look on his face.
Evelyn could clearly see Alvin's changed face.
The young man must have felt bad for having made Evelyn have to eat in a place like this.
Evelyn hurriedly shook her head.
"Like! Obviously I like it." he replied originally while bribing the chicken porridge into his mouth.
Evelyn's face immediately turned strange.
'Ok, it doesn't feel as bad as I thought. It's just a little weird on my tongue.' Evelyn's inner.
Alvin could see the unpleasant look on Evelyn's face. "Miss doesn't have to eat it if you don't like it."
"I.. like." Evelyn replied quickly.
"Miss' face doesn't say that." Alvin said with a smile.
Evelyn slightly lowered her head. It's kind of embarrassing for him. He shouldn't have made Alvin think that he was picky about this kind of food.
To be honest, he doesn't like it. According to Evelyn, the taste of this meal is just a bit strange on her tongue.
"It's delicious, really!" Evelyn. Well, after all his tongue can also accept the taste of this food.
Evelyn secretly insisted that from now on she too would eat it or perhaps would start 'getting used' to eating it.
"i like. Take it easy." said Evelyn who was replied by a nod by Alvin.
"Alright then." said Alvin as he again scooped his porridge.
Of course Evelyn would love it. If he goes with Alvin, wherever and whatever it is, he will like everything that the young man likes. Because this can make Evelyn have the right reason to continue to be able to go anywhere with Alvin.
Evelyn suddenly smiled at herself imagining it would be as fun as if she could continue to be with the young man.
Evelyn suddenly remembered something. He then rose from his seat, making Alvin look at him in wonder.
"What's up, miss?"
"I just remembered," Evelyn said suddenly. "Wait here for a second, okay."
"But where is the lady going?"
"I'm going to my car, there's something I forgot."
Evelyn soon returned with a bag of groceries that contained nothing.
"This, yours. I give it back." Evelyn said as she pulled out a jacket from the grocery bag.
Both of Alvin's eyebrows suddenly frowned when he saw the jacket. Wait a minute, why is the jacket on Evelyn?
"How can
"I found it in my room."
"This is in my room. The morning after you delivered me when I was drunk this jacket was already in my room."Evelyn explained. "It's your jacket, right?"
Alvin nodded his head after remembering what happened. He put down his tablespoon and grabbed the jacket.
"Oh, right. I gave it to Miss myself that night. Nightclub parking, yeah. Hehe. How can I forget." said Alvin while chuckling awkwardly.
Alvin was embarrassed after seeing this jacket again. This jacket made him recall the events of 'it' again.
Right after he put this jacket on Evelyn's body, this girl immediately kissed her.
Meanwhile Evelyn looked wryly smiling. He was disappointed again. Alvin said he forgot.
How could Alvin forget what he did that day? Is their meeting not that important so it is easy to forget. 'Why is it so easy for Alvin to forget the memories with me, anyway?' his inner.
"Thank you by the way." Evelyn said later.
"Yes?"
"I'm glad you helped me out that night. So, thank you. And also, sorry for the trouble."
"Oh, yes, you're welcome. No need to think about it anymore. I'm glad I could help.."
Evelyn sighed.
Staring closely at Alvin who is now putting his jacket in the bag. He pointed at the jacket with his chin.
"By the way, it doesn't need to be washed anymore. The jacket is clean. I asked the waiter to wash it before taking it."
"Ah, then thank you very much..." Alvin nodded and smiled as a thank you.
"But you're very kind to lend me your jacket."
"It was actually already night. Miss's clothes are too thin. And I just didn't want Miss to get cold, so I lent her." explained Alvin.
Evelyn smiled faintly looking at Alvin who looked so nervous. He knew Alvin must have remembered the 'shameful' incident.
"That's what it looks like." Evelyn replied nodding.
The two of them then continued to eat their own food.
Not long after that Alvin pushed his bowl which turned out to be empty. He had finished his chicken porridge and just waited for Evelyn to finish.
"I'm sure, miss has never eaten chicken porridge before, right?" guess Alvin while wiping his mouth with the tissue on the dinner table.
Evelyn flicked her eating movements and smiled awkwardly at Alvin, then shook her head slowly.
"This is actually my first time eating food like this."
"Then why would you even want to go to lunch here, with me?" Alvin frowning.
"That's because I want to."
Alvin smiled confusedly. "Huh?"
Evelyn smiled back then put down her spoon.
"I just want to have lunch with you" Evelyn explained. "Actually after our previous meeting, on the balcony, I felt comfortable chatting with you. And I want to be friends with you."
Alvin seemed surprised by the straightforward words. It looks different to Evelyn. The girl looked ordinary, even impressed relaxed when saying it.
"Miss wants to be friends with me?" Alvin looked confused. "But why?"
"Why?" This time it was Evelyn who was confused by Alvin's question.
"I mean. can't you find a friend who's even better than me? Then why me?"
"Does being friends with someone need a reason?"
"Of course."
"All right then..." Evelyn let out a long sigh, seeming to think for a while. He looked at Alvin for a moment.
"Don't I just say it, because I feel comfortable talking to you. I don't know why I just want to be with you."
Alvin termangu's.
"Want with me?"
Evelyn was shocked by her own words. Geez, he shouldn't have said that. Alvin could have misunderstood this. It is like a person expressing love. Yes, just blame his incongruous mouth with his mind and even express his heart.
"I mean, I want to keep making friends with you." Evelyn chuckled awkwardly.
"Oh.." Alvin nodded in understanding.
"So, can we continue to be together after this?" ask Evelyn again.
