Evelyn quickly sat herself down and leaned onto the head of the mattress.

"Why did you just call now?" evelyn asked annoyedly.

There was the voice of Mr. Anderson who chuckled when he heard the nagging of his daughter.

"Dad just called you but has to get a scolding like this?" said Mr. Anderson, his tone was a little amused.

Evelyn sighed lazily, "Of course I nagged. That's because I was too hasty to go abroad to take care of business. Don't even want to wait for me to come home first."

"Hey, what's going on? Don't you usually have no problem leaving me alone?"

"Yes, indeed. But the thing is, we haven't met at all this month, Dad. We should have met and talked first. But I have to go again for the next few months." Evelyn said listlessly.

"You're coming to catch up here, Eve?"

"For the time being I haven't been able to come see Dad. I'm a little busy for now." Evelyn explained. Of course, Evelyn was eager to go see her father as soon as possible. But whatever the power, he still has a lot of business in Jakarta.

"By the way, didn't you go on vacation to Bali. How was your vacation there?"

"Bad." Evelyn replied. "boring too. I have been to Bali several times. So it's not much fun anymore." Evelyn replied casually.

Mr. Anderson remained silent for a few seconds before returning to speak.

"How about you get married, baby. As I told you before." said Mr. Anderson softly.

Evelyn raised her eyebrows when she heard her father's words. His father was back to discussing marriage, again.

"Dad, we've talked about this before, right? I won't get married unless I find a suitable man." Evelyn said.

Mr. Anderson chuckled.

"Yes, I know you're gonna refuse to talk about this."

"Then why are you even talking about it again now?"

Evelyn could not help the small smile that appeared on her face.

"Don't feel guilty like that. Honestly, I'm not lonely, Dad. I have a lot of friends here. Dad don't worry. I can take care of myself.

"No, you know that's not the point" Mr. Anderson said.

"Then what's the point?" Evelyn fixed her sitting position and leaned on the head of the bed. "Didn't my father's wish be that I be happy and not lonely even in the absence of him?"

"really. I just want to make sure of that." said Mr. Anderson.

"I'm happy here dad, really. I'm not lonely here at all."

"Yes, I hope you're honest and not lonely. I don't want you to lie so I don't worry you."

"No. I mean it, Dad.." Evelyn said steadily.

"Well," said Mr. Anderson, giving up, speaking in a soft voice, "Dad will believe your words. But still, I still wish you had a lover you could count on there."

Evelyn took a deep breath and shook her head while smiling.

"Dad, I can do anything alone without anyone's help" Evelyn said. "That's why I don't need a man yet, for now."

Mr. Anderson chuckled.

"Okay, baby, I think I've got a meeting and I'm leaving. Be happy there." said Mr. Anderson.

Evelyn nodded.

"Goodbye father." Evelyn said by disconnecting the phone call.
