The Dungeon System

The Dungeon System
105. training in dungeons

It would take weeks, months or even years for some cultivators to learn and be able to use such basic techniques, but Adam did not know about it and thought that if it was a base, it would be impossible to do so, then it is simple and everyone knows how to use it.

Focusing hard on his body and energy, he tried his hardest to become more adept at using it as he sat cross-legged for hours without moving, circulating his energy and trying to control it.

As his master had said, he lacked the basics and he knew that he needed to understand the basics completely and lay down a strong foundation for his progress and strength.

Not like the others, though, Adam did not have to worry about the need to find energy and resources to be absorbed into his body as he could increase his strength and cultivation level by killing ferocious beasts without having to worry about anything else.

He also did not need to worry about the bottlenecks that others might reach while trying to breakthrough, which could hold cultivators at a certain rank or cultivation level for weeks, either, months or even years.

With so many advantages, all that was left was for him to practice.

[Why don't I practice this technique in the basement where I have double the time. I'm just using the basement to hunt and increase strength, but I haven't used the slower time for anything else] Adam thought to himself.

[I will enter the dungeon and run to the edge of the dungeon where there should be no more Wood Python after I hunt on stage] Adam's plan.

[Hopefully master doesn't think I'm lazy and incompetent while I sleep because I'm actually in the basement and if he asks how I learned if I just slept, I just slept, I can tell him that I have a mindscape in my mind that allows me to learn things in my head. Although it was unusual, it was the only thing I could tell him to explain what had happened without revealing the dungeon system] Adam told himself, be prepared for any questions from his master.

[The system took me to the basement] communicating Adam to the system.

The system tells Adam that he will be taken to the basement and after waiting for a few seconds he feels his soul being sucked out of his body.

Adam had walked to the side of the dojo and leaned against the wall, so that when he entered the basement, his body would remain in the same position and his master would believe that he would still be cultivating.

12 Hours in fact, which was 24 hours in the basement, was the optimal amount of time Adam could spend in the basement. Less than that and he will not be able to achieve much, and more and he will suffer tension and counterattacks for leaving his body for too long.

He knew he could spend at most 48 hours in the basement, but that would push him too far past his limits and he was unwilling to test what would happen if he did.

However, he could last at most 32 hours in the dungeon without starting to feel weak in his Dungeon Form inside the dungeon, which was the most time he had spent in the dungeon so far.

Looking at his surroundings in the basement there seemed to be no ferocious beasts in the specific area he was in, but he was quite close to the center of the Floor and he had to be careful.

[After studying and becoming proficient in both techniques, I will head to the middle of the Floor and face the Boss Beast of Floor 2] that Adam planned.

He is LVL 16, but has a power that is close to the usual LVL 20 and he is confident in his current abilities.

After he learned the basic defense techniques, then matched them with the 3 E+ Rank Monkey Fur Coat, he said, which would allow him to increase all of his stats by 3 points for 10 minutes if he wore them all at once, his strength would be incredible.

Using all of his trump cards and strength, Adam felt confident enough with his strength to face the Boss Beast of the 2nd Floor.

Bursting towards the edge of the Floor at his full speed, Adam had the expected speed of a LVL Beginner Cultivator 21 and was 3 times faster than an average human. Avoiding any beasts he encountered, not wanting to waste time fighting against them, Adam rushed towards the edge of the 2nd Floor.

The Dungeon form felt the same way as his physical body in reality, but he could still tell that it was not his physical body and was an astral form and an extension of his body and soul.

However, it was still suitable for him to be able to train and what made him curious was whether his training would give him EXP. He was also curious about how exactly he would reach the dungeon and where it really was, because if his body got everything he got inside the dungeon, it could not possibly be a space within his mind.

He knew he would retain memories and experiences of what happened in the dungeon, so sure if he understood the concepts, skills, or techniques in the dungeon, he could also use them in the real world.

{Any progress the host makes in cultivation will count as EXP and it can come in any form, either way, but I would not recommend the host to seek knowledge that is too deep for him} stated the system, confirming that he could gain EXP from training the techniques in the dungeon, but not dissipating his curiosity.

[Excellent] Adam thought to himself when he realized how close the relationship between his original body and the Dungeon Forms were identical in every way, shape or form.

Sitting cross-legged, Adam suppressed his curiosity and continued what he was doing in reality as he began to circle his energy and feel its flow.

Adam became more attuned to his energy currents and the invisible power he possessed.

Adam did not realize it, but it was the intelligence stat that determined his skills and abilities in terms of using energy and currently the skills and abilities that he was capable of were superior to a rank 2 cultivator.

However, he had yet to learn how to use his abilities and it would require him to become more proficient in energy usage before he realized the abilities provided by his high intelligence stat.

But his Energy Storage surpassed his Intelligence Stat and he would find it difficult to control and use large amounts of energy with his limited experience and proficiency.

Adam begins to realize that statistics do not determine the final outcome of a battle and that without one's skills, experience, and abilities, raw strength and strength would not mean much.

Adam became increasingly accustomed to the use of his energy over time and since he did not exhaust his energy and only tried to manipulate and control it within his body, he did not need to stop to recover his energy.

However, Adam discovered that he started having headaches because he felt as if his skull was stiffening around his brain due to mental tension.

Quitting, Adam used the Ethereal Recovery Skill to relax and calm his mind while also recovering a bit of mental tension.

Despite his determination and drive, he, there were limits on what he could do and he knew that in some circumstances exceeding his limits would only cause him to get a counterattack and hinder his progress in the future.

After using the Ethereal Recovery Skill for an hour, he felt that he was ready to continue training his control over his energy. Adam plans to train his basic ability to use his energy and can move it to different areas of his body before he starts trying to learn the technique.

Although it was a very tedious process and difficult to repeat, Adam was willing and did so to improve his abilities as much as possible before he continued to increase his strength.

If he continued to increase his strength and forgot to lay the foundation with good fundamentals, he would suffer in the future as his skills and prowess would be left behind from his strength if he did not stop to practice.

Adam continued that cycle many times and had been sitting in the same position exercising his control over his energy for 12 hours and he had only stopped 3 times to use the Ethereal Recovery Skill, for an hour at a time, to lower the mental tension he was experiencing.

After 9 hours of training, he finally felt comfortable using his energy until he was ready to start trying to learn the technique.
