34. Run late

"Tonight is the High School reunion" he exclaimed

Adam began to realize that time was moving very fast and oriented towards the Underground Prison System, with it being his main focus.

However, it is not always a bad thing and he is happy with his ambitious and determined mindset and is the main reason he is developing as well as he is.

Adam is now beginning to feel the satisfaction of his hard work.

After a long bath, Adam changed his now sweat-soaked clothes, left his room and found Sarah had left a lot of food for him on the table and was working on documents on the kitchen table.

Adam feels a little awkward after what Sarah saw him go through, but he knows he has to move on that day and knows that a high school reunion will take his mind off the pain he's going through.

"So, are you excited to see Cole and Emma again?" adam asked calmly, as if nothing had happened before.

Sarah jumped up suddenly and had an excited expression.

"I completely forgot about that" he cried happily.

Sarah is too focused on developing and forming their company, so she also forgets about the High School reunion.

"Do you still want to go" asked Adam who did not care at all.

"Of course we go, I'll finish all my work now, then we'll leave at 5 o'clock exactly" he said excitedly.

"Okay, I don't have a problem with that, but I have to go home at 10" Adam replied casually as he sat down and started eating the large breakfast Sarah had prepared for him.

Sarah was a little disappointed by the fact that she was going to leave early and also discovered many things about her that were very abnormal, but all of that was nothing in his eyes compared to what he had done for her at the lowest point in his life.

That fateful day, is the day Sarah becomes so desperate to earn an income that she enters a nightclub in search of a way to earn money she knows she will never be able to return.

However, Adam, the knight in armor, not only saved him from the man who tried to attack him, but also paid his father's medical bills and invested in his company.

For Sarah, it was a debt that could never be repaid, but for Adam who had opened his eyes to reality, it was just a small favor that he did not care to return anything.

After eating, Adam lay on the couch and thought about what he could do for the next 4 hours before he had to get ready to go to the high school reunion.

Relaxing for a few minutes Adam suddenly jumped up.

"Where is High School Reunion?" ask Adam.

"China Star Restuarant is about 20 minutes away" he replied with his eyes still fixed on his work.

Seeing him working so hard, Adam also wanted to finish some work and decided to research about the area around the restaurant where the reunion was held.

She returns to her room, leaves Sarah in an open living room finishing her work, and sits at her desk as her computer turns on.

When he started researching, he noticed that it was a family-owned business, yet as he continued to search deeper, the largest shareholder was the Maxwell Family.

[The family owns almost everything in Brooklyn and is everywhere. I have to be careful around them next time] Adam thought to himself, knowing that he couldn't mess with such a strong family.

So, in a place where such dangerous weapons were common, he was still not safe and the threat of the existence of cultivators was another thing that Adam had to take into account.

The only thing he could find publicly about the Maxwell Family was that they had some big business, but he could not find a single bad review or anything negative against them.

They seem to have the whole of Brooklyn wrapped around their fingers as they stand above the law and do as they please.

The more he searched, the deeper the hole he entered without finding anything about the Maxwell Family that seemed to be everywhere.

"I really have to be careful" he murmured as frightening thoughts began to seep in.

"Having and maintaining so much power is simply because not only are they financially strong in this armed world, but they must also have great power" he told himself.

"They must be cultivators" he guessed.

Assuming that, Adam became a little nervous and worried whether his little quarrel with their security guards would make them chase after him.

After a while, he calmed down and started searching for any martial arts manuals and started memorizing as many fighting techniques as he could put into his mind.

Instead of worrying about the future, Adam has a very active mindset where if he needs to get things done, he will do it right away without putting it off at a later date.

He decided that he would find a way to increase his strength before something happened in the future rather than worrying about what would happen in the future.

The first martial art that Adam focused on was karate and he continued to research it and learn its basic attitudes and techniques through videos.

In a trance to study, she completely forgot the time when Sarah breezed into her room.

"Hurry to get ready, it's 5:30 and the reunion starts at 6, we shouldn't be late" he said hurriedly as he grabbed Adam's arm, prompting him to change clothes.

"We have 5 minutes to get ready" he cried excitedly as he rushed out of Adam's room and left to change clothes.

Seeing Sarah happy, Adam also felt quite excited when he saw how he could help her and reform himself with the help of the Underground Prison System.

Waking up from his chair Adam opened his wardrobe and pulled the suit he bought with Sarah.

Adam is not a fan of suits because he feels they are uncomfortable and has always been someone who focuses on comfort in terms of clothing rather than being fashionable, but for this occasion, he said, he decided he would do it for Sarah.

He tied his slippery black hair into a small ponytail and replaced it into a 3-piece black suit.

Adam's black hair and sharp features are perfectly correlated with the sleek, dark suit he wears that accentuates his muscular, sculpted figure, as the red tie accentuated its bright glowing red eyes and attracted everyone's attention.

Looking in the mirror Adam was pleased with his appearance because before he was not ugly, but always thin and never fully confident with his appearance.

Walking out of her room, Sarah is once again struck by Adam's handsome appearance, but Adam is also quite surprised to see the white dress Sarah wears and her long, unraveled brown hair,

The two looked at each other awkwardly as Sarah began to become a little embarrassed, Adam was still calm and seemingly unperturbed, until he broke the silence.

"Should we go"
