The Grief of the Two Red Lines

The Grief of the Two Red Lines
Seven Years Ago

Zaira tells Andre not to tell Brian that she saw him with Rina this morning. He asks them to shut up because Zaira wants to find out the connection between Brian and his past.

But now, Zaira has not been able to return home. Because his eyes still look puffy. He decided to meet Revi alone. Want consult. To him, more Revi words entered his mind.

Revi still has a long queue. He can't take a weekend off. Many patients come because on that day, the family can take them to consult, which according to Revi, must be accompanied by the closest family.

Zaira chose to wait in her room. He could not absorb anything in his mind right now.

Her HP is ringing. He grabbed it on the table. Lazily, he picked up the phone from Brian.

"Hello, honey. You where?" Brian's voice sounded like a kitten looking for its mother.

"I'm in the hospital. There's patients. Uhuk". Zaira made a coughing sound so that Brian did not suspect her voice.

"You sick, honey?" Ask attention.

"No. It's just the flu. It'll get better soon."

"Darling, are you okay?" Brian's voice sounded really attentive. However, the swear words came out from within Zaira's heart. 'How can I be okay, damn it!'

"Yes. Fine."

"Write, Zaira. I'll listen to you."

That's Brian. The most sensitive man, according to Zaira. He can't even lie. Brian is very good at seeing from the gestures and treatment of Zaira which he thinks has changed a little. One form of favor that Zaira was most grateful for when she met him. But not anymore.

Zaira's tongue wanted to ask about the status of the woman who kissed her this morning. But he broke his intention. He wanted to know what the man would do next.

"I'll be home soon. It's a long time ago, there's a patient." Zaira diverts the conversation and lets Brian know that his wife is not doing well.

Brian was silent for a moment. "All right, sweetheart. I'm waiting for you."

Zaira put her head on the sofa. His mind is completely dead-end. Don't know what to do next.

Ting!

He opened his HP. A notification sound from her Hp album suit that tells her what memories were stored there a few years ago on the same date and month.

He's opening. There are memories in the form of photographs seven years ago from his HP.

Zaira looked at the photos. He remembered those memories. Photo by Andre. Memories of Brian expressing his feelings for the umpteenth time and accepted by Zaira.

At night, Zaira had just finished her operation. He was approached by Andre who looked panicked and reported that Brian was sick and needed treatment. But the tired Zaira asked 'Is the pain in the chest?'

If it's not that area, he doesn't need to go there, right?

Andre shook his head quickly.

'Bring to the nearest clinic, sis.' Hearing that, Andre froze. He's not good at making up stories. Finally, he asked Zaira to accompany him alone.

Arriving there, Zaira was confused why Andre's brother even brought her to a building. Lonely and dark.

"Sir, why are you here?" Zaira asked confusedly while wearing her teak. The night is very cold.

"Okay, I'm confused too". He answered while loosening his tie. Andre was just told Brian without being told anything. Because he was also very busy with the problems of the people he faced. "Already, come on, just go in first." Take Andre.

Since Andre's car, Zaira has been suspicious. Because, if it is sick, it should go directly to the clinic, right? Andre just laughed and said, from the beginning Brian would be crazy if he liked someone.

They went upstairs with street lights from outside and HP lights.

"Patience...  Ra." Said Andre whose breathing had gone up and down. "Roof. This kid. huh. one more ladder, Ra.." Andre invited Zaira first.

"Sir, this is the sixth step".  Zaira just shook her head while laughing. Fortunately he often climbed down the hospital stairs that were up to five floors. If suddenly the patient needed and the elevator was full, he would have run up the stairs.

Arriving at the top, Zaira was amazed by the atmosphere of the night. The lights of many homes and offices were lit in various colors, as well as the wind that gently brushed her hair. 'Ah. so fresh'.

Zaira stretched out her arms and closed her eyes at the end of the barrier until she forgot her original purpose of coming to this place.

The sound of someone shaking jerked him. 'Ah, Brian's inner voice.

"Come here for a minute". Brian grabbed Zaira's hand. He took her to the right of the building. There is still room there. It was decorated with many candles and beautiful flowers.

"Gee.. Sis, this is amazing." Zaira looked around. "It's so beautiful" cried Zaira happily who seemed to want to jump.

Brian laughed happily at Zaira's reaction. It means he managed to please the woman. "I am looking for a place where there is not much wind so that the candle may light up". Brian looked at Zaira. "Do you like it?"

"What kind of question is that? Of course I like it." He said while still looking around him. Real pretty. Who decorated this? Is it Brian's brother?

Brian approached and grabbed Zaira's hand. "I try so hard to make you like everything I do". He took his breath. The words he had just neatly arranged in his mind, did not even appear.

"Thank you". Zaira. He saw the nervousness in Brian.

"No, don't thank me".

Zaira raised her eyebrows. Signs he doesn't understand.

'What am I talking about!!' Brian cursed himself in his heart.

"I want you to answer and say what I've been waiting for. I'm...". Brian hung up his words. He took one more hand from Zaira.

"Zaira, I really like you. You helped me to dampen my past. I've longed to get rid of that and you come, scrape off one by one the shreds in my heart." Brian slowly took his breath.

"Zaira, I. don't want to force you, but it is my heart that says that I must make you see me. Until any time, please, never get tired of my behavior. I will keep fighting until you accept me. Ah, naw. Until I realized that you didn't want me at all."

Brian threw out the breath he had been holding ever since. "Zaira, I'm not a great man but let me be your friend. I'll try to be the best man for you".

Brian tightened his grasp, closed his eyes, and his voice was raised. "Zaira, please, marry me."

"A.what?" Andre's voice that was not even loud was heard until Brian cursed him in his heart. Didn't Brian say all this time, 'Zaira date me, Zaira open your heart and look at me as your lover, Zaira, Zaira, Zaira..! But why did he propose to her tonight? Ah so busy I, to not know the progress of this child' Inner Andre did not expect. I forgot to take pictures of them from behind.

"alright". Zaira's voice sounded relaxed.

Brian opened his eyes. "All right?". It's like he's not conscious.

"All right? Zaira, you..." Brian widened his eyes. Staring at Zaira was like asking for more explanation.

"Zaira, did you accept me?" Brian asked, whose eyes could not be separated from Zaira's face.

"Yes. Alright. I want to." Zaira said casually as she removed her hand from Brian's grasp.

"really that? Zaira did you really accept me?" Ask me not to believe. "Andre, did you hear that? You hear?" A big smile on his face.

"Yes I heard. I congratulate you on your hard work that bored Zaira to finally accept you." Andre said softly but in his heart happy, Brian finally married someone who helped him forget Rinnada.

Brian did not care about Andre's words. The only thing that was kicked in his ear was the words of Zaira who received it.

Brian ran small towards Zaira who was already at the end of the barrier. He hugged Zaira and turned her around.

"Thank you, Zaira.." He screams gleefully. Welcomed Zaira who shouted cheerfully in shock at Brian's sudden action.

Andre smiled at them. Andre knows Brian's struggle. From the beginning he set foot into this city, hoping to forget about Rinnada. But the girl's face remained in her eyes. Until he meets Zaira and intends to approach her. He hoped that by doing so, Rinnada could be eroded away in his heart.

Really, Zaira's charm is slowly able to distract her from the shadows of the past. However, unlike conquering the unimpeded Rinnada, Zaira did not even glance at him. If not with the help of Hani and Andre, I don't know, maybe now Brian is only able to look at it from a distance.

Zaira closed her eyes, leaning her head against the sofa again. 'Huh. Turns out the memories of the proposal' murmured in his heart. 'No one knows, that 7 years after that proposal is today, the most wrong day of my life. Seeing firsthand he was snubbed by his ex-girlfriend. The past that he said eroded away because of my presence, was not really exhausted'.

"Bian, why don't you get eroded along with your fucking past!" He threw his cell phone on the table.

Seriate....
