The Grief of the Two Red Lines

The Grief of the Two Red Lines
Extra13

Brian looked at Zaira fixedly, Zaira said.. Does he regret the divorce between them?

Zaira smiled slightly, she lowered her head. "I'd also love it if you found your happiness, mas". He said without seeing Brian.

Zaira wiped away the rest of her tears. "Go, you'll be late." Zaira stood up, followed by Brian who was still staring and full of question marks in her mind.

But if you hear Zaira's words, even though she is sorry, you don't want to go back to her.

"So, this is the last time we met, huh?" Zaira asked with a faint smile on her lips.

Brian grabbed Zaira's hand, "Ra, answer my question honestly.." He said as he looked at his ex-wife with a look of hope. "Is there still a feeling of love in your heart for me?"

Zaira raised her face and just silently looked down at Brian.

"Tell me, because I'm so hard to get away from you. I can't imagine you with anyone else. I've also been very tormented all this time because of my feelings that can't just disappear. I didn't forget you for a second. If there's still a chance for me, I'll use it as best I can. I love you so much, Zaira." He told Zaira, who now began to shed her tears again.

"I'm sorry. I'm starting again. Unknowingly I.."

Brian was aghast when Zaira suddenly hugged him. Clenched his body tightly and made Brian's heartbeat firmer.

"I'm sorry, ma'am." Lirih Zaira in Brian's arms. Her hand was held behind her ex-husband, as if she did not want him to leave.

"You're not wrong, Zaira. You're the best woman I've ever met." Brian returned his embrace, stroking Zaira's hair gently.

"I'm a fool who has wasted a woman like you.."

"When it comes back.."

Brian let go of his embrace, reassuring the word he heard from Zaira.

"What did you say?"

"I was also alone. I think parting with you can make me better. It turned out that I was wrong." isak Zaira and Brian looked at him with a throbbing heart.

"I'm hurt because of what you said to me. But it's not as painful as I've spent three years alone and at war with my own heart that you want to stay by my side."

Hearing Zaira's words, Brian was enraged. How could Zaira have felt that too. He thought Zaira was living well and happily.

Zaira admits it, she tells Brian clearly that she still needs her ex-husband.

He admitted his mistake, he should have listened to Revi's words from the beginning to tell the test results straight away. Zaira is also somehow difficult to accept even though the photos are a trap from Dinnara.

"Zaira, it's you.."

Zaira's phone rang, she wiped her tears and picked up the phone from the hospital emergency number.

"Yes. Alright. I'm there now." Zaira said to the person who called her.

"Mas, I'm sorry. There was a big accident and I have to get there, a lot of patients I have to check".

Zaira steps up but her hand is held back by Brian.

"Wait, Ra.. "

"I have to hurry, mas." He said with a panicked face and left, leaving Brian who still had big questions in mind.

Brian stared at Zaira's slowly disappearing back and his phone shook.

"Yes, Ndre?"

"Yes, I'm there." Brian stared at the old screen of his phone. Confused by his current situation, Zaira also did not convey clearly what his words meant.

Brian got off, and got into Andre's car that was nagging because Brian was too bogged down.

Zaira let out a long sigh, she stared at the clock on the wall and already showed the number 1 in the morning. He had many operations and it was time consuming.

He quickly climbed onto the roof of the hospital, though he felt Brian must have gone from there.

Arriving at the top, his eyes swept to every corner and did not find Brian there. Zaira walked towards the wall, the cold night wind fluttering her hair around. His mind began to show Brian's face.

"He's gone, yeah". Zaira bowed down, after all, separation was her decision and many times Brian begged her to come back, but she refused even though her heart wanted it.

Zaira walked out, her chaotic thoughts this time too following to her heart. Although he was a little relieved to have told Brian, whatever the outcome, he tried to accept it.

Zaira opens the door and finds Yara asleep. He took a breath, all this time he was heartbroken alone because of his decision, but the little girl before him had helped him a lot to stay happy.

Zaira pulled Yara's blanket, gently stroking her daughter's hair. Then his eyes caught a watch on the table next to Yara's bed.

He furrowed his brows, the watch was his gift to Brian five years ago. Why did Brian leave her on purpose?

"You done yet?"

Zaira was aghast, turned her head and saw Brian rise up from the corner sofa of the room. He yawned and then stepped closer.

"You tired? Can I help you massage?"

Zaira was unmoved, she looked at Brian who was somehow there and let out the words she used to hear while complaining of fatigue after a long operation.

"You.. don't go?" Ask Zaira.

Brian grabbed Zaira's right hand, "I don't want to go. Zaira, say. What am I supposed to do to get you to accept me again, hm? Tell me, I'll do whatever it takes for you to take me back. Just so you love me again."

Zaira looked at Brian with a puzzled look. His heart was pounding due to the presence of Brian who he thought had left since earlier.

Brian stared at Zaira's fingers which he held. "You remember, we used to joke around and you asked, how about I leave you? I replied, it can't happen. What if it happens?"

Brian exhaled his long breath, his eyes starting to glaze over. "I'll do anything, anything. Just so you'll forgive me. Now, if you want me to bow down, I will. If you want me to crawl up and kiss your feet, I'll do it with pleasure as long as you really let me be with you again. There is nothing more painful than losing you, Zaira. There's no..."

Zaira hugged Brian again, her eyes were sore, she cried remembering the words. Even though he and Brian were just joking, but everything became real. Even Brian's words not to leave him, will also continue to love Zaira to death.

"Zaira, give me one last chance. I'll use it as well as I can.."

Zaira nodded in Brian's arms, causing the man to clench Zaira tightly, peeping her head repeatedly. He wept for Zaira's sincerity to take it back, crying happily because now the suffering in his heart was over.

"Thank you, Zaira. Thank you." whispered to Zaira and the woman tightened her arms.

"I love you, I love you, Zaira. I love you so much". Whisper Brian again. He then let go of his embrace.

Zaira wiped Brian's tears and nodded.

"Thank you for still loving me today." Zaira's reply to Brian.

Brian pulled the nape of Zaira's neck, then kissed the woman's lips, took a soft sip. The thing he misses so much, all the things that are related to Zaira, now he can feel it.

Zaira closed her eyes, her heart pounding, something she used to do with Brian but not as beautiful as it is now. Today, they started again, something that used to crack and fix it back.
