The Grief of the Two Red Lines
Surgical procedure
Zaira held back her sobs. He quickly wiped his tears.
"Call doctor Eka". Tell Zaira to the nurse.
"Doctor Eka is operating on another patient, doc. We have to hurry.."
The nurse looked agitated and confused because Zaira was too stalling.
"How's Brian doing?"
The voice that Zaira recognized appeared. The woman turned to the mastermind who made her unable to pucker up now.
"The patient who was in an accident, doc? We're gonna operate on it, doc. But.." the nurse glanced at Zaira who was coldly staring at Vinda.
Dinnara sobbed hysterically when he saw Brian who was being fitted with various tools from behind the glass door.
"But what?" Ask Winda to panic.
"But no doctor operated on it". Answer with doubt.
Hearing that, Dinnara became more and more. He then held the hand of the Winda.
"Mother, please. Please save Brian. Please, Mother. Save her". His screams at the worried-looking Winda looked towards Zaira.
"W-Is there another doctor?" He stuttered as he saw Zaira clasping tightly onto the paper which he marked as an order to move tasks away from him.
"No one, doctor."
"Please, Mother. Don't let Brian die". His roar on the silent Winda.
Zaira looked at Dinnara with a sad look. The woman in front of him sobbed begging her love not to die. His behavior even exceeded that of the current Zaira.
"Zaa-zaira.." Winda started crying, he couldn't even do anything seeing his daughter miserable.
"Only you can do it." Winda looked at Zaira with a pleading gaze.
"You're a heart doctor, too, right?" Said Zaira in a raucous voice. He held back the tears that almost came out.
"Mother, perform the operation, Mother. Please, save Brian." Dinnara. He cupped his face with both hands and cried a mouthful.
"I-I haven't had an operation in a long time." Winda squeezed his finger. He now started glancing towards Zaira who somehow looked calm.
"Zaira, please. Do it for your husband". He turned to Zaira. The winda then approached. "I believe you, save Brian." His words began to cry.
"He's your husband, don't you feel sorry for him?" Strangled Dinnara to Zaira. Tears poured down his face, making Zaira hate him even more.
"You have to operate it. You should see now his life is even on the edge!" Shouts again. Some people and nurses are confused by what they see.
Zaira was the wife of the victim, but it seems that the doctor did not want to perform the operation. Then, the son of the hospital leader now shouted hysterically, is Brian crying? Did something happen between Dr. Winda's son and doctor Zaira's husband that made her reluctant to operate on her husband?
"Hurry up Brian! You're gonna be a crazy doctor who won't operate on a patient! Look Mother, look! Just fire the doctor like him!" Pekik Dinnara again. Now the anger is beginning to take hold of him.
"I can't." Zaira answered briefly. His gaze was now sharp towards Dr. Winda.
Zaira's reply enraged Dinnara.
"You're a woman with no heart!" His screams made Winda shut his daughter's mouth.
"Dinnara, relax!"
Zaira squinted her eyes when she heard another name that Winda mentioned to her son.
Winda then approached Zaira. "Do the operation. I'm begging you."
Vinda then snatched the paper in Zaira's hands. "This, I know this is what makes you unable to do" he said, pointing out the letter and then tearing it into pieces.
"No moving letters. I'll cancel it. So, please, help Brian." Winda looked down again and again.
"Doctor, patient..." Nurses try to remind that there are patients who really need to be treated.
Hearing that, Dinnara faced Zaira. He knelt down and hiccupped.
"Please, have an operation. For Brian's safety. Forgive my mistake. I am the guilty one. I ruined her life, I'm not pregnant, Zaira. I lie. We didn't even do anything. He's a good man who loves you very much. I'm leaving, Zaira. I'll leave Brian as long as you save him." Dinnara bowed, sobbing.
Hearing her current words, it was very desirable for Zaira to kick and grab her hair. He has made his household a mess because of his actions that claimed this was against him.
Zaira without saying anything moved into the operating room followed by several nurses behind her.
Zaira cried while cleaning her hands. She herself still hates Brian, is she able to operate on her husband?
Revi and Hani who witnessed Dinnara's confession felt sad. It has been so far done to make their best friend's household a mess.
Dinnara continued to cry. Winda then raised his son, helping him sit on the waiting bench.
Winda was embarrassed because it turned out that the incident had just been seen by many people.
"Come, we're going". Winda pulled Dinnara's hand.
"No, Mommy. I'll leave after Brian has surgery." He answered and wiped his tears.
"For what? Did you promise to leave him?"
Dinnara fell silent, she then shook her head. "I can't leave her, Mother. I love Brian".
Hearing that, Winda widened her eyes. "You really are too late!" It's on Dinnara.
"But Mother.."
"Go quickly!" Winda pulled Dinnara's heavy-looking hand out of place. He finally left after the coercion from Winda who kept pulling hands while grumbling at him.
A few hours later, Zaira was done with the operation. He then cornered as the nurses took Brian out of the operating room. His heart was a little relieved as Brian's surgery was successful.
Zaira squatted down on the corner of the wall. He was still wearing his operating shirt, sighing. This is the first time when doing surgery his heart is very upset and scared. He was barely focused. Somehow he remembered all these back occurrences that made his heart so hurt.
Hearing Dinnara's words earlier made him want to do the operation that he was supposed to do to emergency patients, not because of the woman's confession.
True to his expectations, the woman did not conceive Brian's child due to Brian's infertile status. She made up so that Brian would marry her, and seeing her cry earlier, the woman really loved her husband.
"Doctor.."
A nurse surprises Zaira. He stood up and started taking off his clothes.
"I have put the patient's things in the doctor's office." He said and bowed and passed.
Zaira stepped on gontai. Suddenly feeling dizzy, later he had difficulty sleeping and rarely ate. Especially surprised by Brian's current condition, even though Brian betrayed him, still he was sad to see his condition earlier.
Zaira came out and saw that no one was waiting, not even the woman was there.
A nurse came up to Zaira who was holding her handel by the door."Doctor, I'm sorry, Dr. Winda is asking you into his room right now."
"Tell him I'm busy!". He said it out loud and went straight into his room. There was no respect for a person like him, if he wanted to move it though, he was already not afraid. People like him, it's very poignant.
