The Grief of the Two Red Lines
Extra3

"You're not married yet?" Ask Zaira.

Gio shook his head, "I keep getting rejected."

"Times, anyway?" Zaira tilted her head, looking at Gio next to her.

Gio was laughing. "Yes, in our 30s, it's like finding a girlfriend in college?"

Zaira nodded her head, as she herself felt that her life had also gotten worse.

"You remember Dina, the little girl we helped back then?"

Zaira thought for a moment, she remembered, a 14-year-old child with heart disease, due to economic deprivation, Zaira and Gio helped her with surgery for free. After Dina regained consciousness after the surgery, she thanked him and prayed for the two doctors to mate.

"He's grown up, and a few years ago bravely met me when he was 19. She asked me to be her boyfriend when I found out I broke up with you".

Zaira widened her eyes. "Correct?" he said while giggling.

Gio nodded then laughed, "Yes, he is even still bothering me until now. He got a scholarship and is currently studying medicine".

"Well, isn't it great? how old is he now?"

"Maybe 25 years".

"Haha, why not just go with him? isn't she pretty?"

Gio shook his head while giggling. "I'm better suited to be her father than her lover". He then got a big laugh from Zaira.

Yara came to Zaira, "Mama, Ala wants the ice".

"Well, cute.." Gio said then squatted. "What's his name?"

"Pearl".

"Beautiful.., would you like to buy some ice cream?"

Yara shakes. "You bought me the same mama". He hugged Zaira's leg.

"That's sad. You see, even a little boy rejected me". Gio said in a sad manner and Zaira laughed, as before, Gio is a funny person.

Zaira and Yara go in search of ice cream leaving Gio who is still accompanying his nephew to play. He then receives a call from a coworker who is also his co-worker with Zaira.

After a long conversation, he suddenly gave word. "Oh yeah, I just met Zaira in the park."

~

"What's? Are you serious she's separated from her husband?"

~

"really? That's not a real child? Hah, why did I miss this important news, damn it."

When he remembered he did not know anything, but it was a good opportunity for him.

...*****...

After being satisfied playing, they went home, Zaira drove her car at night. Yara is asleep, the air is cold outside, it seems that it will rain tonight.

In the middle of the trip, Zaira's car suddenly broke down on a not-so-busy road, only a passing vehicle.

Zaira starts her car again, but it's not alive. He got out of the car, tried to open the front hood and look at the engine he did not understand.

A drop of water fell on his nose, Zaira gazed up at the blackened sky.

"Ah, rain." He was so upset that his car couldn't even walk.

Zaira immediately ran away and got into the car when the rain suddenly hardened. He turned on the wipers, then thought for a moment, who would be the person he could ask for help.

"Huh.." Zaira had her head on the wheel, she didn't know who to call.

"Sister, Hello."

"Yes, Ra?"

"Sister, please send a mechanic to Hero Street, my car broke down, brother".

"Montir? Wait a minute, yeah".

Andre then disconnected. Zaira breathed a sigh of relief, she only waited a few minutes until the mechanic came and fixed her car.

A few minutes later, Ziara's car glass was knocked several times, making the woman gasp.

He saw someone with a hoodi in his head go straight to the front hood of the car and fix it.

While Zaira saw the person soaking wet, she immediately looked for an umbrella for the man.

Zaira came out with an umbrella, she headed ahead, wading at the man who was busy fixing his car engine.

"Sorry, it's an umbrella.." Shouted Zaira in the noise of the rain.

The man didn't say, he kept fixing the machine. After that, he stood up and looked at Zaira who was paddling him.

Zaira was shocked when she saw the man in front of her was her ex-husband.

"Bas..bian?"

Brian took off the hoodie that covered his head, looking at Zaira who was now an umbrella with him.

"I'm sorry" he said in a soft voice.

Zaira nodded though she didn't hear, but she could see Brian's apologetic lip movements.

"You've apologized repeatedly, ma'am. I have forgiven you for a long time. So, stop." said Zaira slightly up, offsetting the sound of rain.

Brian closed his body. He can't hold himself back anymore. For three years he never once thought of Zaira.

Now, the woman is in front of him. He will try again, asking for the hope and love that Zaira once gave him, no matter how hard it was. Just like her old self, fighting for love that has not grown, she is now fighting for love that has withered.

Brian put his body together, "I miss you so much." He said, looking into Zaira's eyes. The woman simply silently returned Brian's gaze in silence.

"I miss everything that's on you". Brian held onto Zaira's waist with one hand, hoping that the woman would comply as she hugged the body.

"I can't forget you for a second." Say it with teary eyes. He began to pull Zaira's body into his arms, but Zaira clasped Brian's hand on his waist.

Zaira clasped Brian's finger and led him to the handle of the umbrella, handed the umbrella to Brian, while Zaira moved, walking towards the door of her car in a rain shower.

"Bec.." Brian threw out his umbrella, holding Zaira's hand that was about to open the door.

"Please, give me a chance." He said in a high tone in the midst of the torrential rain.

"I can't, ma'am. Please respect my decision". Shouted Zaira who was now drenched.

"Again, Ra. Just this once. I beg. I'm so tormented, Zaira. Please". Brian held his hands together under his chin, begging Zaira to grant him.

Zaira just shook her head.

"I still love you so much, really. I'm tormented by my feelings, I hurt you I know, I'm gonna fix it, Ra. Please..." Brian cupped his hands together on Zaira's cheeks but the woman quickly parried him and got into the car.

"Bec.." Brian tapped on Zaira's car glass. "Ra, give me one last chance. I promise, I promise I won't let you down again."

Zaira starts her car engine and sticks gas without caring for Brian who follows her pleading in front of her car's door glass, until the man stops chasing, Zaira rests her body which starts to shiver and she starts to cry, his shoulders went up and down because of the sobs that were not strong he could stand.

Brian came again, he had already guessed the possibility of meeting Brian on Andre's show. When he met, he felt Brian also seemed to have really accepted because he had never contacted even once. Later that night, Brian returns, though Zaira thinks Brian did it because he was drunk, but he doesn't, but he returns and asks for his former position, which Zaira doesn't even need anymore. For him, the existence of Yara in his life has helped him greatly. Yeah, he's sure he won't need Brian in his life again.

Zaira stopped the car on the side of the road to just finish the tightness in her heart. He cursed Brian in his heart, how dare he come again and ask for a chance. Brian did not appreciate his decision and his struggles over the past few years trying to live without the man beside him.
