Chapter 2 The Betrayal

“Do not expect the child will use the surname Pratama ! I will cancel our marriage religiously and countryally,” Sebastian said with a face full of emotion. His gaze was fixed on Mr and Mrs Susanto.

“What do you mean, Bastian ?” Mr. Herman furrowed his brows while returning Sebastian's gaze.

“That child is not my child !” sebastian shouted quite loudly. Even Sebastian used formal language in his father-in-law.

. “Even I have never touched Shera more than I should. So I make sure that the fetus is not my child,” he stressed back.

Madam Mira's face looked very surprised. He shut his mouth.

Mr and Mrs Richard simply watched without comment, while Dion was already outside contacting some of the people who would help her cancel Sebastian and Shera's wedding reception.

“So you're really going to cancel this wedding ?” Mr. Herman drew closer and looked at Sebastian with an angry face.

“You consider my daughter a haphazard woman ?” Mr. Herman's gaze looked full of anger.

Sebastian smiled cynically while returning Mr. Herman's gaze was no less fierce.

“The one thing in life that I can least afford to forgive is betrayal, whatever it may be. I will still cancel our marriage with or without Om's consent !” Strict Sebastian. The man was even reluctant to call Mr. Herman papa as he was a few hours ago.

Mr. Herman took a step back. Sebastian's assertiveness and angry gaze made his heart shrink. He was shocked when Sebastian called him Om. It flashed in his mind that indeed Shera had betrayed this son-in-law.

“This marriage cannot be canceled until it is proven that this child is indeed not your child,” reject Mr. Herman with a high enough voice.

Sebastian smiled again.

“If you mean Om I have to wait until the child is born, don't expect ! Om only thought about the kindness of the Susanto family. Then what about the family name Pratama ?” sebastian's voice sounded slower but stressed.

“And so Om know, if the DNA test can be done even for a 12-week-old fetus. So I make sure that the fetus is not my child,”

Sebastian spoke his words as he brought his face closer to Mr. Herman.

Mr. Herman rewinded his steps and got Sebastian's sharp gaze. Sebastian's cynical smile reassures him that the fetus in Shera's womb is not Sebastian's child.

“As a fellow man I will be gentle on Om.” Sebastian held out his hand. “If it is proven that the fetus Shera conceived is my child then I will be responsible. But if not,” Sebastian deliberately paused for a moment and squinted his eyes.

Sebastian looked up at Daddy Richard. Understanding the intent of his son's gaze, Daddy Richard immediately nodded his head. Mommy Amelia frowned at the interaction between her husband and son.

“If it is proven that the fetus is not my child, then Om must leave the company and go as far as the Pratama family. All cooperation and all forms of relations between the Om family and us, will break up by itself,” Sebastian said as he looked back into Mr. Herman's eyes.

Mr. Herman's face was getting pale. He hesitates to return Sebastian's hand as a sign of agreement. Daddy Richard, who saw the two of them, was silent and looked at each other, approached them and stood between them.

“So that fair, DNA test will be done in 2 places., Herman. You can choose any hospital, as well as our family will do tests outside this hospital so as not to arouse suspicion. And for the cost, don't worry. I'll have Dion take care of the payment.”

Mr. Richard who had just been a spectator had finally spoken. Seeing the confidence and decisiveness of his son, Mr. Richard was sure that his son did not mess with his statement.

Mr. Herman fell silent and lowered his head. It's hard to dispute what Mr. Richard said, which had only been made in a few hours. Not because of an authoritarian leader, but Mr. Richard is famous for his wisdom. Therefore, Mr. Herman understands very well that the words of Mr. Richard just now are the result of careful consideration.

Mr. Richard took the phone from his pocket and contacted Amir, his assistant.

“Then what about the reception later tonight ?” asked Mr. Herman in a soft voice and a condescending tone.

Mr. Richard looked at Sebastian, hinting that all decisions were in his son's hands.

“I don't want to be at the reception tonight, Daddy. I could have sworn to mommy and daddy that I never did anything out of bounds let alone to make her pregnant.”

Daddy Richard just smiled. Mommy Amellia finally approached as well and rubbed her son's back, trying to provide support for her son's disappointment and heartache.

Not long ago Amir came along with Dion who had taken care of the problem of cancellation of the marriage.

Mr. Richard gave orders to the two assistants to take care of the cancellation of the reception event including information to reporters covering.

Food that has been cooked will be sent to orphanages and halfway houses that usually receive donations from the Pratama family.

Business colleagues who come from out of town and have already come to stay entertained in a smaller room. All gifts that have been received are returned to the sender with an apology.

Amir and Dion call upon the confidants of Mr. Richard and Sebastian to help them solve this unexpected problem. It was quite a strenuous and dizzying task, but Mr. Richard promised that he and his wife would come to meet guests who would be entertained in the smaller party room.

The conscious Shera was eventually transferred to a regular ward.

Her bridal clothes that had been stained with blood had been replaced with hospital clothes.

Madam Mira approached her daughter and helped her to be in a half-lying position. Shera also asked for a drink.

Staring at the faces of the people in the treatment room made Shera shudder. He believes they already know the real situation that he is two-bodied.

Mr. Herman approached his daughter and directly slapped her face. Madam Mira who had just placed a glass of water on the table next to the bed immediately turned her head and shouted. Shera looked surprised. She did not expect that her pampering papa would be able to slap her.

Mr. Herman, who has been feeling tremendous emotion, is unable to say much. Moreover, Shera still chose to silence when asked about the biological father of her fetus.

Madam Mira is still crying with her daughter. The two embrace each other. Mrs Mira is still trying to persuade Shera to tell her the truth.

The canceled wedding drama finally ended that afternoon. Mr. Richard and Mrs Amelia returned to the hotel to fulfill their promise to meet the invitees from out of town accompanied by Dion and Amir.

While Sebastian who just shut up and did not say anything more even to Shera, chose to leave the hospital and go home to the Pratama mansion delivered by driver daddy Richard.

Sebastian rubbed his face violently while leaning his head in the back seat. His feelings were chaotic and mixed. The car slowly left the hospital.

Sebastian closed his eyes and hoped that if all this was just a dream, Sebastian fell asleep in the car.

Two weeks after the cancellation of his daughter's marriage, Mr. Herman chose to sell all of his assets and move his family to Australia.

Without waiting for the results of the DNA examination, she was convinced that her daughter was pregnant not because of Sebastian. Mr. Herman who understands that Sebastian is not playing around with his words will break all relationships in any form with the Susanto family, will make it more difficult to work in Indonesia, especially Jakarta. As a member of Mr. Richard's legal counsel for 7 years, Mr. Herman has memorized the extent of the conglomerate's commitment to doing things.

Finally 3 months later, gradually the problem of the cancellation of Sebastian and Shera's marriage began to be resolved.

The news was successfully muted and the process of annulment of marriage was approved by submitting evidence and witnesses, including the results of DNA tests that stated that the fetus was not Sebastian's biological child.

Mr. Richard and Mrs Amelia simply gave their support in their attitude without much admonishing or comforting Sebastian with words. They already knew very well the character of his only son.

Sebastian stared out the window from the 15th floor of the MegaCyber office building. The night view was amazing and helped to calm his heart.

Sebastian took a deep breath and threw it away violently. He feels completely fooled by Shera. Sebastian's extraordinary love for the beautiful woman was not able to keep him from betrayal.

Heartache ? That's for sure.

Angry ? Don't tell me how many maki poisons have been thrown out of his mouth.

Disappointed ? I don't know when Sebastian will be able to rebuild his trust in women.

Sebastian got up from his chair and started getting ready to go home. He himself was not sure it would be easy to open his heart back to the creature named woman.
