Chapter 7 The Trial Period

It doesn't feel like a month has passed. Kirana smiled as she looked at the numbers printed on her account. Although not the first salary from her first job, Kirana felt happiness because she got a salary that was quite large for her size.

The status is still a probationary employee, but Kirana feels that Sebastian is changing slowly. There had been no normal conversation like a boss and a secretary, but it was no problem for Kirana. For him, Sebastian's acceptance of his work is more important.

This morning Kirana came earlier than usual and seemed immediately busy with routine work.

Dion took 2 days off from today because she had to take care of her mother in the hospital.

As per Dion's message, Kirana must accompany Sebastian for 3 meetings outside today. Before 8 o'clock Kirana had already finished her routine work. Sebastian arrives at 7:15, earlier than usual, so Kirana can take care of the files that require Sebastian's signature.

In addition to leaving the file, Kirana has also given Marsha info that she will accompany Sebastian meeting outside because Dion is on leave. The 15th floor room will be empty until they return.

Kirana is still nervous when she has to take an elevator with Sebastian to the ground floor. There was no conversation in the elevator. Until the lobby, the car with the driver was ready since 15 minutes ago.

“You sit in the back,” Sebastian commands when you see Kirana open the front passenger door.

“Eh...me...” Kirana looks confused and hesitant when she hears Sebastian's orders.

Kirana remembers Dion's message to have Kirana sit in the front while traveling with Sebastian. But seeing her boss turn towards the door behind the driver, Kirana finally complies and opens the rear passenger door.

She was nervous sitting next to Sebastian. Every now and then he glanced at the man who started to open his phone.

“Where are the files that Dion has prepared?” Sebastian reached out his hand asking for the document in question while turning towards Kirana.

Kirana who had been feeling the cold heat and nervous was surprised to hear Sebastian's voice talking to her. Kirana took out a black bag containing documents and a laptop. He pulled out 3 maps containing files that Dion had left yesterday afternoon.

Sebastian receives the map from Kirana's hands and opens one by one to confirm the contents of the document.

“Everything has been arranged according to today's schedule. Do not get upside down,” Sebastian handed back the three maps.

“Good Sir,” replied Kirana stiffly.

A 30-minute trip takes them to their destination. Kirana did not think that the name of the cafe that was informed by Dion was in one of the 5-star hotels in the center of Jakarta.

Kirana rushed down with a document bag and followed Sebastian who had stepped in the hotel lobby.

Arriving in front of the cafe, there was a man in a suit uniform welcoming Sebastian. Kirana guesses that the man is the cafe manager and already knows Sebastian quite well because the man welcomed Sebastian like an old customer.

The man also drove Sebastian to one of the tables that were a little backwards and side by side with a glass wall with views to the beautiful garden and swimming pool.

Kirana originally wanted to sit opposite Sebastian, but the man looked at her and gave her a code to sit next to him.

Kirana complied and her hands came back cold with a feeling of nervousness. After ordering a drink, Sebastian asked Kirana to release the first document that had been prepared for this morning's meeting.

“What Dion already told you what you should do ?” sebastian asked without looking.

“Hmmm. Mr. Dion just asked me to bring this file and prepare your laptop,” replied Kirana a little stammered from nervousness.

“Where is your phone ?” Sebastian looked at Kirana with his hand out.

Kirana pulled out her phone from the document bag and placed it on the table.

Sebastian watches Kirana's phone and looks to take a deep breath.

“Can't replace your phone with a more advanced one?” tanyanya flat.

“Eh..ngg..I...” Kirana is confused not knowing what to give an answer.

“Then record the key points of this meeting by manual,” Sebastian's command.

Kirana nodded and took out the agenda book as well as the pen from inside her bag. Not long ago the client in question came with an assistant.

Kirana also listened to Sebastian's meeting that morning with a client from Kalimantan. His company wants to work with MegaCyber to build internet networks in several remote areas that are still minimal with technology.

Kirana herself once stole a glance at Sebastian. It is not strange that the man is quite famous as a young businessman who succeeded and had entered a magazine. Sebastian looks really awesome when he talks about business. Besides being handsome and dashing, her charisma was able to make it difficult for Kirana to shift her gaze.

At 11 hours the first meeting was over and ended with an agreement to be followed up later.

Kirana and Sebastian are back in the car for the second meeting.

Sebastian was busy with his phone and 2 times received phone calls. But from her talk, Kirana is not sure if the second phone came from a client or investor. Sebastian's tone sounded relaxed and the language used was slang.

Kirana's stomach started to feel hungry because it was time for lunch. But since Sebastian only ordered coffee, Kirana also only ordered juice. Kirana hoped that the worms in her stomach would not ring until they sounded out.

The second meeting was shorter than the first. Sebastian is not too enthusiastic about this second client, to shorten their conversation without a final agreement.

Kirana followed Sebastian's steps wide and fast. Kirana herself was left behind because of her shorter steps plus a hungry stomach and 3 cm heels that slowed her pace. Kirana is not used to wearing shoes.

Up in the car, Kirana looked out the window until she fell asleep leaning against the door. Sebastian turned his head when he heard the sound of Kirana's head clashing with the side of the car door. Kirana fell asleep quite fast. Unknowingly, Sebastian was fixated on looking at Kirana's face that was closed and not disturbed even though his head could not stand still leaning because of the movement of the car that was traveling. For some reason, Sebastian felt like he saw a shadow of Shera on Kirana's sleeping face.

Travel longer than before. 1 hour later, the car entered a restaurant that is quite luxurious in the northern area of Jakarta. Restaurants near the beach with a view of the ocean that is quite fascinating.

Sebastian asks Mr. Tomo, his driver, to wake Kirana up while he himself has gone down to the restaurant.

Kirana was surprised and quickly sat back in an upright position.

“It's arrived, Non. Mr. Sebastian has gone down first,”, said Mr. Tomo when he saw Kirana staring at the bench next to him that was empty.

“Thank you, Sir. I directly follow Mr. Bas first.”

“Good Non.”

Kirana rushed down and entered the restaurant. He first looks for a toilet to tidy up before approaching Sebastian. In addition to adding powder and lipstick and tidying up her blazer, Kirana also combed her hair ties a little messy. The watch is still at 14:45. The next meeting is scheduled at 3pm. Kirana hopes Sebastian will take her to lunch before the meeting this afternoon.

Finished tidying up, Kirana walked over to Sebastian's desk. As before, Sebastian chose a table on the side of the window, and this time a vast sea view was plastered in front of them.

Kirana glanced at the cup of coffee that had been served on the table. He put the bag on one of the empty chairs and sat down next to Sebastian. The man did not turn his head in the slightest as Kirana sat down.

Looking at the glass of coffee in front of her boss, Kirana instantly shifted the cup and made Sebastian turn to look at her with a frown.

“Do not drink too much coffee, Sir,” Kirana said. “Mr hasn't had lunch yet. It's not good to drink too much coffee. Your stomach can be disturbed. It's good to have lunch before the meeting. I'm hungry too, Mr.” Kirana immediately raised her hand to call the servant without caring for Sebastian's gaze.

The man himself was stunned and fixedly stared at Kirana's face which was staring in the other direction.

Kirana's words just made her think back to Shera when her ex came to the office after college first.

The flashback

“Honey, don't drink too much coffee. This must have been the third or fourth or even fifth glass. It is not good for your stomach if you drink too much coffee. Moreover, Dion said you haven't had lunch.”

Shera who had just walked into Sebastian's room immediately reprimanded him when she saw 2 cups on his lover's table. Although he had not seen the contents, Shera was sure that the cup was a used coffee drink.

“Let's not sleepy, baby,” Sebastian stood up and walked closer to his heart. Without asking permission, the man immediately hugged Shera lovingly.

“But your arrival seems to immediately encourage and keep drowsiness away,” Sebastian with a sparkling face directly kissed Shera's cheeks blushing shyly.

“Just you have to eat yes ! Do not drink coffee. I do not want to urucinate if until stomach pain due to drinking too much coffee,” threatened Shera with a spoiled voice that makes Sebastian more anxious and re-hugging him.

“Pak Bus,” Kirana calls Sebastian for next time.

The man was indeed looking at her, but Kirana knew that her mind was drifting somewhere. Many times he called his boss' name but Sebastian's position has not changed. Kirana took a breath because she realized that she had been to ge-er an when Sebastian looked at her so deeply.

“Pak Sebastian Primary !” call Kirana out loud enough while patting the guy's shoulder hard anyway.

Sebastian jolted from his daydream. His gaze turned sharply at Kirana while touching her shoulder which felt a bit painful from being patted by Kirana.

“Why do you look at me like that ? Is there something strange about me ?”

Kirana raised her eyebrows while holding Sebastian.

Kirana's question embarrassed Sebastian into throwing his eyes in the other direction. Sebasrian realized that he had looked at Kirana long enough.

A waiter delivers food ordered by Kirana.

“I don't know what your favorite is. Dion just told me that Mr. Bastian does not like spicy food. I've ordered this.”

Kirana puts a dish of seafood fried rice without chili in front of Sebastian.

“Father must eat so that stomach acid does not rise. Earlier I dreamt long enough, proving that my brain needs nutrition because it is only filled by coffee,” said Kirana origin.

Sebastian immediately turned his head and glared at Kirana. His secretary did not touch him. Kirana brought the spicy fried rice closer to herself. In addition to hunger, Sebastian's long enough gaze makes his brain more difficult to think well. Sebastian was still staring at Kirana with his two eyebrows together.

Sebastian snorted in annoyance but his face blushed in embarrassment at Kirana's words. He cursed at her who dissolved in memory of Shera while looking at Kirana.
