Chapter 8 - Acting Professional

Without feeling the time to walk into the 3rd month Kirana worked on MegaCyber.

With a gontai step, Kirana returned to her room after meeting Ms. Yuli, Pak Rano's representative who handled employee administration issues.

Kirana slightly slammed the map she brought from the HRD room. It contained a contract of employment agreement between him and MegaCyber. Sebastian did not immediately appoint him as a permanent employee after passing a 3-month probation period.

Kirana took a deep breath and felt heavy. Although not in accordance with his expectations, but the decision made by Sebastian is the full rights of his boss. Whether for personal reasons or indeed the quality of Kirana's work does not meet Sebastian's standards, Kirana must accept the fact that she can still work as Sebastian's secretary with contract employee status.

Sebastian and Dion just got back from lunch. Kirana herself was back at her desk. He refuses Echi's offer to have lunch together at a cafe near the office. Kirana chose lunch in the pantry with her order bought by Mansyur.

“Ki, you why ?” Dion stood in front of his desk with his eyebrows knitted. Since then he had seen Kirana restless and unfocused.

“You again have a problem at home ?”

Kirana looked up at Dion and then shook her head.

“I want to talk to Mr. Bas. Want to ask what my problem is until Pak Bas decided not to appoint me as a permanent employee but only as a contract employee.”

“Truly ?” Dion.

The man could not believe hearing Kirana's words. A week ago, Dion and Sebastian had discussed Kirana's probation which was coming to an end. Given Sebastian's positive response, Dion believes that Kirana will be immediately appointed as a permanent employee.

“I want to ask directly to Mr. Bas,” Kirana moved from his chair. “At the very least I will know where my shortcomings can be fixed in the future.”

Dion nodded and let Kirana knock on Sebastian's door. In Kirana's hands there was already a map containing her employment contract agreement.

“Sorry I interrupted, Sir,” Kirana said as she entered Sebastian's room.

Sebastian looked up and looked at Kirana, thinking that Dion was knocking on her door.

Sebastian simply gave the code telling Kirana to sit in front of his desk and the girl followed his boss' request.

“I have signed a contract agreement with Bu Yuli,” Kirana put the map she brought on the table.

Sebastian just kept silent as he looked at Kirana and folded his hands in front of his chest.

“I just want to make sure that the decision of this Father is solely because of the results of my work that has not met the standards of the Father,” Kirana pause while breathing. “Not because you have personal problems with me, right ?”

Sebastian knitted his eyebrows together hearing Kirana's last sentence.

Kirana smiled bitterly as she saw that her boss was silent and responded to her question with only body language.

“I know that from the beginning you did not approve Ms. Widya's request to hire me as her replacement. Even during these 3 months, you don't want to talk to me much. Almost all messages and instructions I received through Mr. Dion.” Kirana started to get emotional and raise her voice. His breath slightly stifled withstanding emotions.

“Are you so sure that you deserve to be Widya's replacement in just 3 months ?” Sebastian opened his voice in a cynical tone.

“Even the first 3 weeks you still live with the help of Widya and Dion,” continued Sebastian.

His gaze seemed to dislike Kirana's attitude.

“Then can I know why you do not want to talk to me ?” Kirana lowered her tone back to normal.

“That's my right !” Sebastian is upset.

Kirana took a deep breath and re-regulated her rumbling chest due to emotions. For some reason he suddenly felt very upset when dealing with Sebastian. Kirana feels that her boss brings personal feelings into their relationship as a boss and employee.

“I know that you have checked my background with details. And I'm sure the reason I quit the company before has also been heard. But as a wise leader, it's good if you find out the truth of the people directly involved in it.”

Sebastian just kept silent and still looked at Kirana with a flat face.

“I also know the reason you don't really like to build relationships with women,” said Kirana in a rather cynical tone.

“What do you mean ?” snapped Sebastian. His face turned red with anger.

“It's none of my business to remove the bitterness in your life. But please stay professional in the office even if I am a woman.”

Kirana got up from her chair and bowed her body.

“Wait !” sebastian's exclamation made Kirana step aside after turning around.

“Do not interfere in my personal affairs !” Sebastian blocking Kirana's arm was strong enough to make the girl grimace.

“Then you also mix personal problems with my work. Have you found out the truth of my status labeled as an actor ? Is it because of the issue that is not sure is true, you consider me as a woman who is not right ?”

Kirana's tone of voice remained relaxed but it turned out to provoke Sebastian's emotions. Sebastian's gaze was filled with anger.

“I thank you still given the opportunity to work at MegaCyber even with the condition as a contract employee. Only I ask that you see me as a Kirana not a female actor that you hear.”

Courteously, Kirana let go of Sebastian's hand that was still blocking his arm. It hurt but Kirana tried to act ordinary.

“I'm sorry, Mr.” Kirana bowed before leaving the room.

Kirana immediately closed the door of Sebastian's room and stood leaning against the door. Kirana held her chest that was pounding as she tried to be calm in front of Sebastian.

Dion stared as he frowned from behind his desk. Seeing Kirana breathing like a marathon runner, Dion wakes up from her seat while Kirana walks back to her desk.

“You why Ki ?” Dion stood in front of Kirana. The girl took a glass of water and downed the contents.

“It looks like I should be prepared to accept the worst possible,” Kirana looked at Dion with an anxious face. “I just woke up a sleeping tiger .”

Dion who was originally so worried so laughed softly. Bianca's anxious-looking expression was very contradictory to her words. The girl in front of him was unique. It occurred to Dion's mind that Widya had seen the uniqueness of Kirana would be able to make Sebastian out of his slump, so Widya insisted on asking Kirana who replaced her position.

While in the room, Sebastian was back in his chair. He squeezed his temple, then propped up his face with both hands holding his temple.

The words of Kirana just now. What he said has a point. On the job, Kirana has shown quite good quality for the size of a beginner like him. But somehow Sebastian is a bit difficult to build a good relationship with him.

Kirana is not the type of woman who likes to seek attention, but is attentive.

Several times Kirana's attention reminded Sebastian of Shera. Kirana's treatment of him makes Sebastian feel like de javu about his good time with Shera.

Sebastian has yet to find a compelling reason to cut off his working relationship with Kirana. It must be admitted that Kirana is a smart girl who is passionate and determined. Dion also admitted that Kirana had mastered almost all Widya's work. Dion was quite helped by Kirana's light-handed attitude and was able to give opinions as a solution when Dion needed friends to exchange ideas.

Sebastian rubbed his face violently. What Kirana said was true, that she should not mix her personal feelings with her decision as a company leader.

There is no reason for Sebastian to hinder Kirana in her career. With the status of contract employees, some opportunities and facilities of the company can not be obtained.

On the other hand Sebastian who saw great potential in Kirana, did not feel willing if Kirana darted fast and became far from him.
