“Di Etoile dear, don't be late!”
Davian hung up his phone with a smile as bright as the sun on his lips. He walked to his car parked in the basement of the office building. His steps stopped when a few more steps arrived next to his car. His eyes were fixed on the figure of Jeane who had just gotten out of the car.
“Good afternoon, Mr. Fernandez,” greetings Jeane formal while bowing her head. Davian put on an alert pose as the girl walked towards him. The sweet attitude he showed made Davian even more suspicious.
“What do you need to come here?” Davian tried to keep his tone to impress ordinary. Jeane raised the map in her hand towards Davian.
“I just want to hand this over.” Davian accepted it even though the level of suspicion had not been reduced,
“What is this?”
“That's a project proposal we submitted last month. Didn't you ask us to recreate?”
This time Davian had to gasp in shock because Jeane spoke to him in formal language. What's the matter with Jeane today? Is she planning something or has she changed since her birthday party? Or perhaps the figure standing before him was not Jeane but someone else who resembled him?
“Today you look different.” Davian said while looking at the contents of the map that Jeane handed over earlier. He glanced at her as the girl chuckled.
“I've given up, Mr. Fernandez.” Jeanne.
“I won't chase you anymore. I was thinking of making peace with you and your wife.”
For the sake of the leaves that fell from the twigs, Davian was surprised not to hear Jeane's confession. He looked at the girl with round eyes and he was at a loss for words to reply.
“I've been thinking about it all night. I thought my life would be in vain if I continued to be in the shadows of the past. Therefore, I try to move on from you.” Davian still doesn't believe in his own ears. He tried to overcome his astonished face with a thud.
“Nice to hear it,” shriek Davian, still surprised.
“Well, I won't bother you. You'll definitely go to lunch with your wife. Say hello to her,” Jeane bent her body for a while and then returned to her car.
Davian was still glued to his place. Has the girl really changed? But it feels too much for a Jeane to change. But who cares. If that's true, isn't one problem solved. Davian smiled knowing it.

Davian couldn't help but tell his wife when they had lunch that Jeane was already waving a white flag in other words, she had given up on disrupting their married life again. Alena nodded in relief hearing that. He knew Jeane would eventually understand the situation. Sure enough, Jeane wasn't as bad a woman as she thought she was.
“I want to know the reason why Dad hates Jeane so much,” Davian said suddenly. Alena raised her face to look at Davian.
"Dad never said it,” Davian added as Alena looked at him with round eyes.
Alena fed the asparagus into her mouth in a weak motion. Hearing that, he remembered his problem with Malvin. The tightness in the throat that had forgotten it again choked him.
“Daddy must have a strong reason,” Alena said slowly then sipped water to relieve the pain in her throat. He just hoped that the reason his father-in-law hated Jeane was not the same as the reason his father hated Malvin.
“Hallo.,” reply Alena quickly.
“What is this with Alena Kezia?” a heavy voice sounded at the end there.
“True. You who?”
“I'm Fahri Radhian,” Alena's eyes widen hearing that name. He had already memorized Malvin's father's name out of his head. He immediately straightened his body and bowed respectfully even though he knew the old man would not see him.
“Ya, Uncle. What is it gonna take?” alena asked nervously. Davian looked at her confusedly then asked without making a sound,
“Who?”
“From the hospital,” Alena answered him without a sound as well. Next he focused on listening to what Mr. Radhian had told him. Occasionally he nodded obediently with an anxious look. Davian watched him until Alena finished her conversation and breathed out.
“What does the hospital need to call you?” Davian couldn't hide his curiosity anymore. Alena took another sip of water, then put her phone in the bag.
“I'm done eating.” he said while tidying up his appearance a little.
“Loh, where are you going?” Davian's surprised.
“I have business with the hospital. There is something to talk about Malvin.” Somehow Alena can't tell him that she's meeting Malvin's father with Davian. He's not ready if Davian wonders any further.
Davian grunted sebal. He does not like to hear that all the business about Malvin managed to interfere with his friendship with Alena.
“This time for what other business? Is Malvin dying?” muttered Davian in an irritated tone.
“Davian!” sela Alena was shocked by her husband's original remarks,
“Not too important.just want to discuss about his health.”
“Don't Malvin still have his family?! Why call you and interrupt our lunch?”
“Oh come on, we can have lunch like this next time,” Alena pleads for understanding from Davian. Feeling defeated, Davian sighed resignedly and nodded his head in a sign that he was allowing Alena to leave. Alena jumped happy.
“You’re the best. I love you.” Alena kissed her forehead before leaving Davian alone there. Davian looked at his wife's back with a helpless face.
“Huh, he didn't even mince words to take me away with him.”
