I HATE YOU, BUT

I HATE YOU, BUT
#70

Davian bowed his head as the pain stung his heart, leaving him indifferent to anything else including anyone who entered his room

.

“You must rest, son.” Alena's mother looked at her daughter-in-law pity. It had been 12 hours that Davian was in that chair, sitting while holding his daughter's hand. He didn't even care about his already messy appearance.

Davian turned his head, he immediately got up and bowed his body realizing his mother-in-law was coming.

“Good morning, Bu.” He forced a warm smile after rushing to wipe away his tears.

The middle-aged woman smiled wryly. He knows Davian loves Alena very much but that does not mean ignoring his own condition. He saw dark circles around Davian's eyes, a sign that the man was not getting quality sleep.

“You can go home and sleep. I'll take your place to look after Alena. I promise I'll let you know as soon as she wakes up.” Davian quickly shook his head, though,

“No, I'll stay here. Even though I forced myself back, I was sure I still could not sleep.” he was very sure, his thoughts were fixed on his wife make it difficult for him to fall asleep no matter where he was.

He sure will not be hungry or sleepy, but a rumbling stomach can not be hidden. Davian was stunned when his stomach so presumptuously rang, making him have to endure embarrassment as his mother-in-law chuckled.

“Your love for Alena won't save you from an empty stomach, son. I'm not going to kick you out, but you have to eat,” He thrust a bag filled with food when Davian almost refuted. This time Davian could not reason anymore. Waiting for Alena made him forget to fill his stomach. He forgot the last time he ate food.

“Have you investigated the perpetrator who stabbed Alena?” mother's question made Davian concentrate on the food diverted. Her mother-in-law looked curious and anxious. Davian stopped his activities for a moment. At once he also remembered Malvin's words on the phone about the development of the stabbing case. He did leave Jeane's handling to Malvin so that he could focus on keeping Alena.

“Malvin has secured him to the police station. I got a report from him this morning,”

“Really? Very relieved to hear it. Whoever he is must get punished for his actions. She almost made Alena and her baby die.” Mother breathed a sigh of relief. He looked at his daughter who was still sleeping. His arm that was hit by a knife was bandaged.

“Poor child, you are too kind to let that criminal into your house.” Mother touched Alena's cheek with tears welling up. However, as a mother, she felt sad that this happened to her daughter.

Davian could not comment much but sigh, regret for being negligent was still felt. He didn't say anything about Jeane, but the police in charge of the case explained everything to his parents yesterday. He exhaled a heavy breath when he remembered what his father had said about Jeane, a fact that shocked him to death.

“What?”

Davian stared at the policeman, who was accompanied by a psychiatrist in front of him. He has asked Malvin to take Jeane to the police station. After careful examination revealed a surprising fact.

“Jeane is a Schizophrenic?” he was stunned by the police who had just explained the case of his wife's attempted murder. He turned his gaze to Malvij who sighed then nodded. Davian looked at the man in the official suit who had introduced himself as a specialist in psychiatric diseases. Understanding Davian's face-demanding-explanatory intent, he explains.

“Schizophrenia is a kind of psychiatric disorder that affects the functioning of the human brain, affecting the normal functioning of thoughts, feelings as well as behavior. In general, sufferers have traits such as loss of affective feelings or emotional responses, often followed by delusions or false beliefs and hallucinations.”

“But Jeane looks like a normal girl in general.” Davian objected, he did not believe the perfect-looking Jeane was hiding such a terrible disease.

“In some cases the sufferer may act normally. The disease will return when the anger of something is so overflowing and restrained. Usually the sufferer will blow his emotions by doing something unconscious such as throwing things, or it could kill. Hallucinations occur when the sufferer tries to resist his negative emotions so that there is conflict in himself.”

“Do you mean to say the stabbing of my wife happened because Jeane was hallucinating?” davian said he couldn't believe it. The two people in front of him nodded.

“We still have to investigate the case further before deciding to detain the perpetrator or send him to a rehabilitation parlor.” The police then withdrew after explaining everything.

Davian knitted his own forehead after hearing the police's explanation instead of being relieved he was even more frustrated. He is desperate to sue Jeane, he is angry at the girl and hates her for dying for almost killing Alena. But after hearing all this, he felt sorry.

“Jeane said to me that he was not strong with himself and wanted to leave the apartment, but somehow he suddenly lost control and when he realized, he just lost control, Alena was already lying in front of her and her hand was grasping a knife.” Malvin says.

He listened to Jeane, who tried to explain in a trembling voice at the police station.
