Malvin smiled lightly, “This is as a sign of my gratitude to the Father who raised me.”
Davian rolled his eyeballs while Alena nodded her head, satisfied and proud of her brother's answer.
“How can you two have such wise thoughts?” davian added, I don't think it out.
Not waiting until one of Alena and Malvin replied, Davian continued, “Oh of course because you guys have the same Dad.”
Alena and Malvin compactly laugh. “My father is obviously much wiser than us,” said Alena proudly. He again found his pride in his father after some time ago was disappointed by him.
“What do you want to talk to me about?” Malvin returned to the initial topic of conversation.
“It's about the company Father.” said Alena started. Malvin was rather surprised to hear Alena mention the company.
“Is there a problem with our cooperation? I've managed to convince Dad to work with your company,” obviously Malvin was afraid Alena came with the aim of canceling the cooperation deal they had made before.
“No, not that. It's about the will that Dad left behind. He wants the CEO seat occupied by you.”
A second later there was silence because all Malvin's body froze in shock. Alena had predicted it because she was silent until Malvin could master her shock.
When Malvin was able to normalize himself, he turned his attention to Alena. With a dumbfounded face mixed in confusion he said, “Why me? Shouldn't that be your right?”
“I don't mind if you take over this position. You are my father's son. Of course Dad has always wanted to have a son who will continue his business. I'm sure what Dad meant was you.”
Malvin did not answer. Now he's staring. Everything is too sudden. He was afraid that if he decided this complex matter rashly, his family would be offended.
“This is not easy to decide,” cleanly with a serious face.
“Think about. We are waiting for your answer, soon.” Davian had to talk.
“Why did you hand this position to me just like that?” Malvin looked at Alena full of question marks. Hasn't Alena been known to people as David's only child? It would be surprising if the chair of leadership was given to someone else.
“This is what Dad wanted. I am pregnant now anyway. Davian didn't let me get tired of taking care of the company.” Malvin still looked pondering even after Alena said in a pleading tone.
“I hope you agree. Me and Mom are looking forward to your help.”
Malvin looked back at the face full of Alena's pleas. He was full that second too. He knew that he would never have the heart to reject Alena if she had shown such a clear face.
Malvin's dilemma between agreeing or not. He was just worried about how his father felt. It is undeniable that he was actually happy with Alena's request because it means, since his biological father never forgot him. But he did not want to forget the good of his family.
They were also his brothers, especially his father.
He had already made up his mind, if this was the wish of his biological father and Alena and his mother agreed, then there was no reason for him to refuse. He can talk to his father about this when they meet again tonight.
“Alright,” suddenly Malvin raised his head and then uttered words of approval. Alena and Davian were shocked and looked at each other. It was clear they were amazed and could not believe Malvin finally said yes.
“I know I can count on you, Malvin!!” alena exclaimed, her eyes sparkling. He looked at the smiling Davian as brightly as he was. Davian got up and shook Malvin. It was a friendly act that convinced Malvin that his decision was not wrong.
“Thank you for helping us,” Davian said.
“This is my job,” Malvin smiled. Alena was eager to embrace Malvin as an expression of her gratitude but she was not sure if Davian would be happy with such treatment.
Ever since Malvin knew her husband it was so easy to be jealous. Alena is not sure once her relationship improves the man will eliminate her jealousy levels. So he paused and chose to shake Malvin's hand.
“Thank you very much, Malvin.”
“Don't hesitate, please. This is all I can do for our late father.”
Malvin saw the smile Alena liked reappear. That was the smile that made her fall in love first. But now the smile already belonged to Davian, her husband. Malvin could only look at the smile for a moment before Alena turned her gaze to Davian and hugged her husband. Malvin smiled knot. Yes, maybe he could find a woman who could give him that kind of smile someday. Alena was not a woman to be loved by him from the beginning.
