I HATE YOU, BUT

I HATE YOU, BUT
#53

“Your father has no intention at all to hurt you,” Mother's voice is heard again. Now the middle-aged woman was again the center of attention. Alena clasped her mother's hand, trying to channel the power.

“He promised never to hurt his son and would accept anyone the man you loved but everything changed when you came with Malvin that day. Your father was surprised when you introduced him, of course your father will never forget him. Malvin's face really reminded him of Sarah. Your father thought it might be a coincidence, but when Malvin told me about his family, it was all. Your father knew Malvin was his real son. Therefore he refused because whenever you will never be able to marry. You are bound by blood.” explained Mother with a disjointed voice because it was interrupted by sobs.

“What is the reason why Dad told me to marry Davian?” Alena asked carefully. Davian turned his head to look at her, somewhat surprised why Alena was questioning that.

“Your father immediately looks for a future husband for you so that you do not fall for his past mistakes. Although he could not bear to do this because it would definitely make you hurt, but he is very grateful to have a submissive child like you.”

Alena stared at her mother inside, “Why didn't Dad tell her this from the beginning?”

“Your father can't do it. Telling Sarah meant reopening the dark sheets she wanted to erase in her life. Your father was already quite tormented with the regret he harbored for over twenty years. Even he suffered from lung disease because of the guilt that makes his chest tight. Please forgive your father, Alena.”.

Alena quickly hugged her mother, “Of course, Mom. I must have forgiven Dad.”

She has never felt this much since her husband died. He felt so airy after the burden that had been carrying him all this time. He turned to Malvin and for the first time he could smile lightly at the man.

“Life is happy, son. You deserve to live happily. Don't get too hung up on the past. Love is not only in one place,”

Malvin smiled back. How could he be angry after hearing this story. It was enough that he suffered because he could not forget Alena. He did not want to waste his life as his late mother did. Alena's mother was right, love doesn't just exist in one place. If he can't get Alena's love, wouldn't it hurt to look elsewhere?

“I Understand,” Malvin looked at Alena's mother attached, making the woman blink because the look in Malvin's eyes really made her remember the look in her husband's eyes. Somehow she felt relieved because Malvin's eyes managed to make her sure that her husband did not really leave her.

Alena POV's

We said goodbye even though I didn't have the heart to leave Mom alone. I was worried that Mom would cry after being left alone.

I saw Mom turn to Malvin, go up to him and do the thing that surprised me, Mom hugged him. Malvin was surprised but the next second he hugged Mom.

“The door of this house is always wide open for you, son. After all you are still the flesh and blood of my husband,” said Mother.

“Thank you,” Malvin said in a light tone and at that moment I knew I was really aware apparently there were so many similarities between me and Malvin. Our attitude, the way we deal with problems, the way we smile, and the way we hug Mom. Same everything. Of course, because we have the same father.

I used to think I could fit in so well with Malvin because I was a match for him, apparently I was wrong. I realized my mouth was gaping if Davian didn't wipe my cheek immediately. I blinked my eyes and turned my eyes to her.

“Thank God everything is done,” I smiled seeing her smile. The dimple I like is etched back into her cheek. I hugged Davian back with all the relief I felt.

“From now on, can you stop hating Malvin? She is my brother.”

“It feels like there's no reason to be jealous of him anymore,” I was about to say when Davian's voice interrupts me again,

“Now it's time for you to focus on taking care of our son.”

My cheeks blushed along with it I just remembered that I had not had time to tell Mom this happy news. I then let go of Davian's embrace and approached Mother who was chatting lightly with Malvin.

I'm so happy to hear this news and so is Malvin. A bright smile emanated on the lips of everyone I loved after a while ago we shed tears. I smiled, thank God there was still a pinch of happiness for us on the edge of the problem that could finally be solved.
