Eps. 12 — Riva City
"Mother?"
Zhou Yuan did not expect that the person approaching Xiao Rou's residence was his mother, it seemed that her mother had come planning to meet her.
Zhou Yuan paid his respects as well as Xiao Rou, after a few days in the Zhou Family residence, the girl already knew Lin Ruyue including her status as Zhou Yuan's mother.
"Did Mom bother you, Yuan'er?" Lin Ruyue smiled as she greeted her son.
Zhou Yuan shook his head, he or Xiao Rou were both resting right now.
"How's Yuan'er doing, Rou'er? Has his swordplay increased?" Lin Ruyue then greeted the red-haired girl.
"Brother Zhou studied well, Auntie." Xiao Rou replied with a faint smile.
Xiao Rou had already asked Zhou Yuan to cover up the fact that he was teaching himself, therefore he was now pretending to be Zhou Yuan's teacher in front of Lin Ruyue.
Lin Ruyue nodded slowly then she expressed her intention and goal of taking her son to the city market.
"Rou'er, if you want to come, you can go with Yuan'er?"
"No Aunty, thank you, I have to practice my grandfather's sword techniques here..." Xiao Rou rejected him slowly, he still wanted to learn the sword after being instructed by Zhou Yuan earlier.
Lin Ruyue nodded, no problem, whereas earlier she wanted to buy something at the girl in the city market.
"Mother, is it true we're going to the city market?" Zhou Yuan asked to make sure.
After seven years of being reborn, Zhou Yuan never came out of his residence because Zhou Yuan himself was not interested in going out.
Lin Ruyue nodded before explaining her intentions. "I think you're old enough to see the outside world, Yuan'er, it wouldn't hurt to do it now, would you like to come with me?"
Zhou Yuan did not refuse, his mother's words were right, there was no harm in him seeing the city that the Zhou Family led.

In the Northern Continent there were four Empires that controlled each of its territories, the Moon Empire, the Sun Empire, the Star Empire, and the Earth Empire.
The place where he now lived was the Moon Empire. The smallest empire of its territory from the other three Empires.
Every territory of the Empire would be led by an Imperial Family, that status indicated that their family was higher in rank than the Noble Family.
If the Noble Family only led the city then the Imperial Family led one Empire as a whole. You could say the Imperial Family was the leader of all the Noble Families.
In the martial world the Noble Family or Imperial Family was indeed part of the government that led the territory and ordinary citizens. They are also the doers who create rules and laws.
"Mother, why does the system of government have to have rules, isn't it better for someone to be free of anything?" Zhou Yuan asked, pretending to be confused.
