Legend of the Heavenly Fruit

Legend of the Heavenly Fruit
Eps. 72 — Kusanagi Sword

Zhou Yuan was standing right in front of the city palace, a tall and large gate was before him. With a deep breath he opened the gate of the palace.

The first glance Zhou Yuan saw was the palace courtyard which was quite spacious. There is an ornamental garden there that all the plants are now dead and bald, the garden was like abandoned by the owner just like that.

"If the city is still alive, I'm sure seen from the architecture of the building and the arrangement of the city, this place is not much different from the beauty of Riva City..." Zhou Yuan looked at the city more closely.

The reason Riva City is the most beautiful city in the Moon Empire is because of its very neat and symmetrical building arrangement. The streets of the city, the market, or the park in such a beautiful layout like a jewelry.

Zhou Yuan felt that this dead city was also almost similar to Riva City, only what distinguished the city in front of him was unkempt or dirty.

Zhou Yuan continued forward until he reached the palace door, the size of the door was almost as big as the previous gate only it was made of gold.

Actually, this palace is almost half made of pure gold, making it look richer and more memorable.

Zhou Yuan could not imagine how much wealth the people who built this palace had until the residence was made of gold.

Zhou Yuan pushed slowly the door, he then entered into it and found the main hall of the grand and majestic palace.

In the main room Zhou Yuan saw there were several throne chairs. One of the most magnificent thrones is placed slightly above the other throne which is usually used by the leader or king while the rest of the throne is usually used by subordinates or ministers of the king.

What attracted Zhou Yuan most was not the grandeur of the palace or the golden throne chair but someone sitting on one of the thrones.

Called someone is actually not right because the one sitting on the throne is a skull. Yes, the Skull, which was still fully clothed with a robe as well as a golden crown on its head.

Zhou Yuan guessed the crowned skull was the King of this dead city.

Zhou Yuan came to the skull only after a short distance he realized the skull was hugging a sword.

"Whoever you come, you can see the aura emanating from this sword, a sword shining with its dark light..." Zhou Yuan read a piece of paper that was placed under the feet of the king's skull. It seems to be intentionally read by others.

From the paper Zhou Yuan obtained some information but there was not the slightest information as to the reason why the city lost its inhabitants.

Zhou Yuan scratched his head. "Who wrote this, the writing is terrible..."

Zhou Yuan could not read the paper any further because of the increasingly difficult letters.

Zhou Yuan's attention then focused on the sword in the skull, from the letter he read that the name of the sword was referred to as Kusanagi Sword.

A sword that had a black-colored sword sheath with some gold carvings around it. The sword that is touted as the sword of darkness, is wrought by silence and voidness.

Besides the beautiful appearance of the sword also emitted an unusual aura, it was because of the sword aura that Zhou Yuan was able to get here.

From the paper written by the skull he said that the sword he was holding was a high-level heirloom but when Zhou Yuan looked at him he did not feel the sword was truly an heirloom.

"Use this sword that is covered in darkness with thousands of lights, understand the sword as you understand yourself then it will be yours forever..." Zhou Yuan muttered that reading the letter with some difficulty.

Zhou Yuan felt that the traits were pointed towards him, this meant that the skull had already guessed what sort of swordsman had come to his city.

Slowly Zhou Yuan picked up the sword, he could feel as he held his sword that an unusual air had spread throughout his body.

Zhou Yuan pulled the sword out of the scabbard slowly, appearing to be a pitch-black blade. Zhou Yuan who often met similar-colored swords but only this first saw such a black-colored sword

When the sword was perfectly plucked out of its sheath, Zhou Yuan's gaze suddenly became blurry followed by his almost lost balance.

The incident only happened for a few seconds but it was enough to make Zhou Yuan surprised especially when he realized the cause was the Kusanagi Sword in his hand.

Without himself asking, the sword sucked in Zhou Yuan forcefully. Zhou Yuan who had not expected it to happen like that instantly reflexed releasing it.

"What sword is this, he's really dangerous!" Zhou Yuan set his chest that was flattening because he thought his life energy would be absorbed by the sword.

Zhou Yuan had only first seen a sword that could suck power in its use like the Kusanagi Sword, it managed to shock Zhou Yuan to death.

It took a few minutes for Zhou Yuan to calm down, he looked at the sword before trying to take Kusanagi Sword back but this time he was a little careful in doing so.

When his hand came into contact with the hilt of the sword, the power within Zhou Yuan was sucked in again but this time Zhou Yuan was ready when he sensed it.

Although it did not drain the power in the sword, Kusanagi Sword sucked the power in Zhou Yuan in a surprising way.

Had his current inner power not reached a hundred circles or not been in top condition, Zhou Yuan was confident that his life energy would have been absorbed by that sword.

Zhou Yuan looked at the Kusanagi Sword which was so extremely sharp, far sharper than the heirloom sword he had obtained from his teacher in his first life.

Zhou Yuan swung his sword at one of the nearby pillars, the pillar was made of solid gold, its hardness no doubt.

When Zhou Yuan thought he would need several times to slash the golden pillar into disrepair, his guess was wrong.

In one not-so-powered swing, Kusanagi Sword cut through the golden pillar like tofu.

Zhou Yuan gulped as well as broke out in a cold sweat, aware that a human who hit him would be cut off easily.

"Truly an heirloom..." This time Zhou Yuan believed the words of the skull.

Indeed, the energy in Zhou Yuan continued to decrease even though he did not use it but on the other hand the sword gave a price that was worth the power of a very sharp sword.

Zhou Yuan felt his mind dizzy as his inner strength continued to drain, only a few seconds had he held the sword but the profound energy he had taken was already close to a quarter.

Zhou Yuan again sheathed the sword, precisely Kusanagi Sword was tightly gulped the energy in Zhou Yuan stopped being absorbed.
