Legend of the Heavenly Fruit

Legend of the Heavenly Fruit
Eps. 77 — Cave Light

When the Kusanagi Sword slipped out of its sheath, instantly the energy within Zhou Yuan was sucked into it.

The black color of the sword grew even more dense as it absorbed the power within Zhou Yuan, there was even a faint blackish powder surrounding his blade.

Zhou Yuan took a breath for a moment before using the sword technique he mastered.

"Flight Sword Technique — Thunderbolt Shadow!"

Zhou Yuan moved so fast that his body seemed to split into five. With the same technique, his five bodies moved simultaneously attacking the Silver Snake.

The Silver Snake was startled and could only hold one of Zhou Yuan's bodies while the other four attacks landed on his skin. The snake hissed loudly as none of the five bodies was an illusion.

Although blessed with a hard skin like iron, in fact the Kusanagi Sword can penetrate its scales easily.

"Hm, this is stronger than I thought..." Zhou Yuan was amazed at the sharpness of his sword but now was not the time he judged it.

Zhou Yuan again attacked the snake, moving very fast like lightning while continuing to injure the snake. In a short time, the entire body of the Silver Snake was already covered in sword incision wounds.

The Silver Snake hissed in pain, he could not avoid Zhou Yuan's slash because his body was too big to do that, on the other hand he could not counterattack his opponent because Zhou Yuan was attacking him at a very high speed.

Feeling his life begin to be threatened the Silver Snake immediately turned around and tried to escape into the cave but Zhou Yuan who realized it did not let that happen.

"You want to run, it won't be that easy!"

Not only did it allow its inner power to be absorbed by the Kusanagi Sword, Zhou Yuan was precisely pouring deep power into the sword.

Instantly the black color of the Kusanagi Sword became more and more concentrated even emitting an extremely dark aura.

In one powerful swing, Zhou Yuan slashed the snake's body, not only wounding but the snake's body was instantly cut in half.

The Silver Snake hissed for the last time before it fell to the ground, not breathing anymore.

Zhou Yuan froze for a moment, as if in disbelief when he felt the prowess of the Kusanagi Sword, he still seemed to be categorized as underestimating the power of that sword.

Draining the power in the sword turned out to make it much sharper. Zhou Yuan was sure that there was no sword this sharp in the Cloud Class Heirloom.

"Is the Kusanagi Sword actually an Ancient Class heirloom?" Zhou Yuan stared at the sword, still shocked at what had happened.

Zhou Yuan had never seen the heirloom qualities of the ancient class but was said to possess magical powers that could change the world order. To be sure the power of the Kusanagi Sword was too strong to be categorized as a cloud-class heirloom.

The aura of darkness that enveloped the Kusanagi Sword slowly disappeared after the profound energy that Zhou Yuan had channeled to him was sucked, the sword was now back in pitch black as before.

Zhou Yuan sighed, there was a lot he was thinking about but it was not the time for him to think about it. Zhou Yuan sheathed the Kusanagi Sword back into its sheath, he could not hold the sword for too long while not using it continuously absorbing its inner power.

Zhou Yuan pulled out his father's sword and then walked up to the snake's body and split it apart, a stealth gem appearing much larger in size than he had before.

"I wish it was you that's why I came, and it turns out you're here..."

Zhou Yuan knew him because the girl was Yue Linxia. The girl then landed near Zhou Yuan.

"Miss Yue..." Zhou Yuan smiled awkwardly, he remembered not having informed the girl that he was still alive after being chased by the hooded group earlier. "I'm sorry I haven't told you, I should-..."

Linxia shook his head slowly. "There's no need to apologize or anything like that, I'm the one who should say that. What matters now is that you're okay."

Zhou Yuan could see Linxia was relieved after finding out he survived even though the girl did not express it directly.

"And me..." Linxia glanced at Zhou Yuan hesitantly. "I thank you for saving me from them."

Zhou Yuan frowned, the girl's cheeks slightly reddened as she said so.

"Ehem, did you defeat this snake?"

Linxia hurriedly shifted the topic to hide his reddened face, the girl got misbehaved as Zhou Yuan stared at his face for a while.

Zhou Yuan nodded before turning his face away from Linxia "He is the snake guarding this place, the snake of the Silver Scales type."

"Silver Snake!" The girl was surprised. "I didn't know there were any rare snakes in this bamboo mountain."

Linxia actually knew the snake in front of him, indeed as the girl said the Silver Snake was very rare to encounter.

In the martial world, Silver Snakes that have been hunted can be processed hard skin scales to be used as protective clothing. In the market, they also have an expensive selling price.

"You still seem to be hiding your powers?" Watching Zhou Yuan alone here showed that the man was the one who killed the snake.

Linxia had expected Zhou Yuan to hide his abilities but had not expected his strength to kill the Silver Snake.

In one look, Linxia was aware that the snake was a demon that had reached the age of hundreds of years, its strength was even stronger than the iron boar they had encountered a few days ago.

Zhou Yuan did not answer him, but if he had not used the Kusanagi Sword, he would not have been able to defeat the snake.

Since the two had been together, Zhou Yuan then told his purpose to browse the large cave in front of them.

"Actually another reason I came here because I wanted to enter the cave, from the light clues that I got this cave is where the Moon Orchid grew..." Linxia stopped his words when he saw the body of the giant snake, considering that he had come first maybe he had to fight it first.

Zhou Yuan nodded slowly, not needing another explanation as it seemed that Linxia already knew the information.

Zhou Yuan and Linxia then entered the large cave, initially Zhou Yuan thought the cave would be dark if the longer it entered but beyond estimation, the cave actually had its own lighting.

The cave was filled with fireflies and the number grew when it went deeper, making the cave so bright.

The fireflies in the cave reminded Zhou Yuan of the clues regarding the Moon Orchid. The more light there is somewhere, the closer it is to the Moon Orchid.

About a few minutes they stepped, finally both of them stopped at the end of the cave. Right at the same time there was a bright light coming from the end of the cave.
