Light Cultivation
Eps. 120 — Duel Sword

In the still time of night, Jian Chen guarded around the academy before finally deciding that no assassins had moved here.

"It looks like the Liu Clan has only sent one group of assassins, good, then I can rest now."

Jian Chen went to his residence where Zhou Mei was there, the girl was so shocked when her master came in an unusual way through the window. Zhou Mei who was drinking tea quietly almost spurted her tea.

"Young Master, why don't you come through the door, maybe I'll welcome you... " Zhou Mei smiled wryly.

As long as Jian Chen was not around, Zhou Mei continued to take care of the house so that it looked very clean. Jian Chen smiled faintly before asking for cooking.

Without being ordered twice Zhou Mei went straight to the kitchen, the arrival of her master made her happy and the girl was intent on cooking that Jian Chen liked.

The dinner menu was immediately served, a soup and roast had served Zhou Mei special for her employer. Jian Chen ate it voraciously until it ran out.

In his room Jian Chen could not calm down as his mind kept on recalling many things especially the matter of the Capital turmoil.

"Sometimes you have to enjoy the present instead of worrying about what hasn't happened... The world isn't as bad as your mind, it won't collapse just because your eyes are closed..."

Lily saw clearly Jian Chen's chaotic thoughts, the man could not cultivate well.

Jian Chen sighed. "I'm just worried that the state of this capital has an effect on my clan. You didn't hear yourself when I interrogated the enemy, the Liu Clan is really going to start a war."

"Everything you think of can be finished with strength, seeing how your cultivation speed should probably be you could be the strongest in this Province even in your Empire."

Jian Chen scratched his non-itchy head, the problem was that he did not know this battle would happen when, a year, a month, or even a week from now.

Jian Chen opened his eyes before rising up and then opening the window, he saw the sky so bright tonight with the moon hanging over there.

It was a calm and peaceful night, as if a sign of a storm was coming.

The sound of knocking on the door rang out making Jian Chen who was sitting cross-legged on his bed open his eyes slowly.

Jian Chen chose to cultivate until it was not early in the morning, knocking on the bedroom door from Zhou Mei woke him up.

Zhou Mei knocked wanting to tell him the morning meal had been served, the girl asked whether Jian Chen would eat in the room or in the middle of the house.

"Bring the food here, I'll eat in the room."

Zhou Mei shortly then left before returning again carrying a napkin of food, when he entered he was surprised his master was bare-chested.

The girl had already faced this situation twice and she was not used to Jian Chen's habits yet, she knew her master was doing that mysterious exercise which made her body always flooded with sweat.

Jian Chen chuckled softly at Zhou Mei's mannerisms which held in shame with a flushed face yet he did not carry this any further.

Jian Chen spent the afternoon in the room while cultivating, as the brighter daylight made his growth increase much faster, not taking long until 1 of his 8 meridians had been met.

"Hm... Maybe I'll try to absorb more light during the day..." Jian Chen nodded in satisfaction, practicing night and day was clearly much different, at least tripling his speed.

Jian Chen did not watch the tournament in the academy because after these few days he would make a long journey towards where his teacher was located that was in another province. Jian Chen waited for Miou Lin to the Qianshan capital to inform him of the Liu Clan's plans.

Jian Chen was confused to find a place to practice because if in his yard it would be very striking by outsiders. The ice element technique that Ye Ao had provided was a high-level ice technique, doing it in a city like this was not a good decision.

The only way Jian Chen thought was to train in the middle of the forest, he immediately went to the Fog Forest since that was the suitable place he thought he was practicing.

Jian Chen reached his destination when the sun was about to set, his eyes narrowed when there was someone other than himself there, exactly two people.

Jian Chen had originally intended to train at the waterfall spot in the middle of the Mist Forest where he had once been here when he first met Niu Meily, the place was safe from the reach of people.

"I didn't think the two of them would be here... "

Just as he was there Jian Chen found Ziyun and Meily, both of them were dueling swords near the waterfall.

Jian Chen thought for a while before approaching him, the two girls must have been training when it was the tournament, Jian Chen guessed either Ziyun or Meily qualified for the semi-finals.

"Brother Jian?!" Meily who first noticed Jian Chen followed Ziyun after. The two of them immediately stopped swinging the sword.

"Ah, coincidences..." Ziyun clucked happily, "Brother Jian, can you duel against us?"

"Duel?"

"Yes, aren't you very strong, maybe you can train us or just be the benchmark of our strength, I also want to see your true strength... " Ziyun smiled widely.

Compared to Meily, Ziyun had never seen Jian Chen's true strength or at least seen him fight. As the opportunity came, he tried to duel against him.

Ziyun or Meily of course understood that Jian Chen was a hidden genius in the Academy, following the tournament would certainly make him a winner.

Meily then agreed to the proposal of her best friend, honestly she had thought so but felt bad because she always asked Jian Chen for help especially about practicing.

"Alright, I have plenty of time, too... " Jian Chen then explained that if they wanted to train with him they had to intend to kill him, this was because in order for them to bring out all of his strength.

"Brother Jian, this.” Meily seemed to object, she could not hurt someone for no reason.

"Just calm down my strength is enough to fight you two, even if I can't bear it I'll give up."

Ziyun and Meily looked at each other before both of them nodded at the same time, in contrast to the match practice that used ordinary swords, now both of them took out their respective heirloom swords.

Jian Chen also did not miss, he took out the sword he bought at the Association store, a black-colored sword that was a first-rate heirloom.

Ziyun and Meily moved simultaneously while swinging their swords, the two girls cooperated with each other and played their swords nimbly but Jian Chen could dodge their attacks easily.

"You must remove that doubt, it makes you unable to use a hundred percent of your strength!"

Jian Chen could see either Meily or Ziyun still hesitatingly attacking him with genuine strength. Jian Chen smiled faintly before using the moon sword technique which instantly changed position to attack, the sword he swung so quickly that Meily and Ziyun were overwhelmed by the attack.

Of course Jian Chen held back his strength, he instantly stopped swinging the sword when the two girls were already cornered.

"Your brother Jian is this great?!" Ziyun smiled bitterly, her hand that was holding onto Jian Chen's sword still ached.

"I hope you guys use real power after this..." Jian Chen gave instructions for the two to advance back.
