Light Cultivation
Eps. 22 — Meetings

Jian Chen's life was arguably related to the Two Swords faction.

In his first life, Jian Chen had once entered the forest to hunt down demons. His lack of experience and weak ability keep him trapped in a state of life and death.

Jian Chen was besieged by a wolf demon hunting, when he thought he was going to die there was a party who happened to be in the forest and saved him.

The group in question is none other than the Two Swords Faction. The head of the faction and its members protected the cornered Jian Chen and they drove away the werewolves.

That reason was what made Jian Chen enter his faction right now. You could say the Two Swords faction had saved his life and he owed the faction a debt of gratitude.

A few days passed, Jian Chen spent much of his time cultivating in the room, if not for something important he would not have come out.

Jian Chen indeed had to grow stronger as soon as the tragedy happened, every second was precious and determined his future.

One clear night, Jian Chen walked out of his room through the window, standing on the roof of the inn.

Jian Chen's gaze was fixated on the night sky filled with stars and the full moon. His golden eyes became more radiant when the dark had crossed.

Jian Chen climbed every inch of the sky atmosphere before concluding something. “Taste bright tonight. I'll go there tonight.”.

Given that his inventory of demon gems had been depleted, Jian Chen would return to hunting demons in the forest. Jian Chen jumped from the roof of the building to the roof of another as he headed towards the forest in Qianshan City.

On his way, Jian Chen could see that even though the night was rather late, the activity in Qianshan city was still crowded and busy.

Jian Chen was not surprised by this fact because to his knowledge Qianshan City was indeed always alive day or night.

Jian Chen's smooth and soundless footsteps made the crowd not realize that a child was running over their houses.

The forest Jian Chen was going to visit was called the Fog Forest. One of the woods that was to the east of the Academy was not far from him. The Mist Forest was quite large in area compared to the Jian Clan forest, and the number of demons was very large.

It didn't take long for Jian Chen to arrive, he went straight into the forest while pulling the sword from its sheath.

As long as he entered the depths of the forest, Jian Chen killed as many as every demon he encountered no matter what kind.

Although he could be said to be free, he actually did not let down his guard, because here there were some demons that Jian Chen could not face even once.

With the White Taring sword his father had given him, Jian Chen was easier to kill the demons encountered in a single slash.

The demons killed are still classified as low-grade demons aged 8 years and below such as horned rabbits or wild boars. Their gems are very small and their density is obviously very fragile.

Jian Chen continued to step forward leaping over the tree branches, moving into the depths of the forest. Usually the demon in the middle of the forest must be older even though the level of danger is also high.

Almost about 5 kilometers he moved, his steps stopped when he found a 50-year-old boar demon. It was the oldest demon Jian Chen had encountered in this second life, the boar had a larger body and sharp tusks.

Jian Chen was not afraid, he moved silently past the branch of the tree, having felt it close enough Jian Chen jumped up and gave a swing of the sword.

Jian Chen obviously underestimated the boar so much that he slashed the demon body. He did give the wound but it was not too deep because the boar skin turned out to be harder than he expected.

The boar instantly realized Jian Chen's whereabouts typed it as well. Thinking the boar would attack him again but he turned and ran away.

Jian Chen clucked in annoyance before chasing after him, whereas if he had fought back he could have killed him sooner.

The boar was more nimble than the wild boar it had encountered before. Jian Chen took a longer time to chase and kill him.

Jian Chen always gave a scratch to the branch of the tree that was stepped as a direction if he would return home later.

Jian Chen then jumped up the tallest tree to see the existence of Qianshan City but in fact he could not see anything because there was a thick fog.

As the name implies, the Fog Forest is a foggy forest. Jian Chen only let out a long sigh when he realized his fate, although it was hard to say but he was indeed lost.

He planned to wait for noon to arrive so that he could see Qianshan city return and go home. When resting in the tree, he realized that there was a boisterous sound heard.

“This sound... Is there a waterfall here.” Jian Chen is sure that this is the sound of water falling from a height.

To his knowledge in life then there are no waterfalls in the Mist Forest. To make sure it was no other way for Jian Chen other than to confirm it.

The sound of falling water sounded clearer until Jian Chen arrived and saw him. It was just that the first glance Jian Chen aimed for was not at the waterfall but at someone who was there.

It was seen that a girl was playing a sword near the waterfall, the sword movement of the girl was very beautiful exactly the same as the beauty of her face.

The beauty of his face is very difficult to find, he is like a Goddess who descends in the middle of humans, making anyone drugged just by looking at his face.

The girl in question was the woman Jian Chen knew and she was quite famous in the Academy, her name was Niu Meily. Jian Chen had not expected to meet him in the middle of the forest.

“Who's there?!” The girl instantly realized Jian Chen's whereabouts and unsheathed the sword towards him.

Jian Chen smiled faintly, he indeed did not hide but did not expect to be caught this fast, moreover there was a lot of mist yet the girl could still see it.

Jian Chen walked out from the puff of fog while raising both hands. “Maap bothers me just by chance here..”.

Meily lowered her sword when she realized that she was a man almost her age, at least that was what she thought.

“Why are you here, you following me! ?” Meily said in a cold tone.

Jian Chen smiled awkwardly. “I just got lost and happened to hear the sound of a waterfall. Didn't expect there to be someone.”

Niu Meily's eyes narrowed, she suspected that the young man in front of her was lying let alone looking at the sword sheathed on her waist and there were blood spots from her clothes, obviously it was not a sign of a lost person.

‘I can't read his cultivation.’ Niu Meily became more alert.

“I just hunted stealth a few hours before, I hope Miss does not misunderstand.” Jian Chen caught the girl's sight and explained.

“So what made you come to me..”.

“I... I was lost, not knowing the direction to the city. I hope Miss can help me to get out of the forest, I can't see anything because of this thick fog.”

Niu Meily sheathed her sword. His eyes were quite observant if the young man in front of him did not lie or try to label him.

Niu Meily could have pointed in which direction to get out of this forest just that the position of existence was in the middle of the forest, very far from the city. Meily was afraid that the man would get lost again.

“I just arrived here an hour ago, might be able to help you but that's later, for now I have to practice first.”

Jian Chen nodded, no problem for him as long as he came home sooner. Jian Chen then sat on one of the stones while looking at the waterfall while Niu Meily continued practicing her sword.
