Eps. 313 — Desert Robbers

The merchant entourage that Jian Chen and Lily were riding in was at least five horse carriages inside. Jian Chen and Lily sat in one of their carriages.

It takes at least three days to walk to the destination city on the train.

When the sun starts to sink, the merchant group will make a bonfire in the middle of the desert while their train is positioned circular on the side of the bonfire so as not to be blown by the wind.

Jian Chen had only this first time staying overnight in the desert, he could feel the coldness of the desert at night. On the same side Jian Chen began to understand the reason why the merchants were carrying thick blankets.

When Jian Chen's entourage stopped, the merchants who were all almost old men began to eat the supplies they had brought before.

They looked happy and laughed while eating while chatting funny things together, Jian Chen also who was looking at them from afar also chuckled.

Jian Chen's gaze fell on Lily, the girl also looked in a similar direction.

Jian Chen was unsure but at first glance the girl felt pity for the condition of the merchants.

As the night wore on, the merchants would usually take turns keeping watch but since there was now Jian Chen, they could easily sleep longer.

"It seems that they are not traders, but trades that are forced by circumstances. From what I've seen, they only sell their own home appliances for money..." Jian Chen looked at the old men with a feeling of concern.

"Usually you will help them, will you give them your treasure? Lilly Lips.

Jian Chen nodded slowly, not covering it up. When the two were chatting, for a moment Jian Chen sensed the presence of someone from afar yet his existence felt vague.

"Hm, can you feel it?"

Jian Chen nodded, "About three people are watching us but it's only a few seconds before they disappear."

Lily clucked in awe, whereas she thought the distance she and the three people spying on her ranged hundreds of meters but the young man could sense her quickly and guess their numbers accurately.

"Hm, what are they planning to do by monitoring us remotely, this isn't good..." Jian Chen had a bad feeling about the spy.

The next day, the merchant troupe returned to continue the journey, Lily slightly complained of rage.

"Miss, this is what living in the desert is like, staying five days maybe you'll get used to the heat..." One of the old men laughed to see Lily fanning her body with her hands.

Jian Chen chuckled softly while the advised Lily only snorted without answering any further.

Lily actually wanted to enter Jian Chen's dantian Realm but the young man forbade her because it would make the old men wonder about her existence if it disappeared just like that.

Out of pity seeing the girl overheating, Jian Chen finally released a chill on his body which made the people around him feel a chill.

Not only was the carriage he was riding but the five carriages around him also felt the impact of Jian Chen's chill.

"Why haven't you done this since..." Lily snorted in annoyance.

Jian Chen let out a small laugh, on the other hand the old men who felt the coolness were astonished by the sudden chill.

The train troupe continued to run until the second night arrived, as before they would stop and make a bonfire.

"Grandfather, I'm a swordsman, it's common to keep watch at night like this..." Jian Chen smiled warmly and said it was okay he kept watch back.

In the end Jian Chen and Lily went back to not sleeping that night.

Jian Chen occasionally glanced at Lily, he was slightly astonished at the girl sitting beside him who was always staring up at the sky when night came, lily always looked up at the shining stars up there.

Jian Chen himself did not ask further about the girl's actions, on the other hand he again sensed someone's existence again but this time the number was much more.

Lily also turned her gaze in one direction, the girl first realized the whereabouts of those people before Jian Chen.

Before Jian Chen knew more about those people, dozens of arrows shot towards his entourage.

Jian Chen clucked in annoyance, he leaped then drew his sword before fending off all the arrows that were pointing at the merchant entourage.

Jian Chen's sword movements were so fast that all of the arrows had no escape and he managed to smash through the air.

Jian Chen landed on the ground then saw that there were dozens of black-robed people lined up not far from his entourage.

The entourage were desert robbers, seeing Jian Chen fend off all of his arrow weapons made them shocked but did not make them stop his attack.

Now the arrows were fired again but they were all aimed at Jian Chen.

Jian Chen smiled faintly before starting to smash the arrow with his sword as he continued walking forward to shorten the distance between him and the robber.

The arrows they released were shrouded in power, an ordinary person would be hollow if his body passed the arrows.

Jian Chen continued to smash the arrows they released, the asura sword being so sharp that any attack that pointed at him made no sound as the arrow split apart.

"How many arrows do they keep?" Jian Chen frowned as he unceasingly smashed the arrow.

Jian Chen began to change tactics, he occasionally caught the arrow before throwing it back.

The arrow shot that Jian Chen unleashed was much faster, the robbers were not ready with what Jian Chen was doing as a result the arrow perfectly stuck in his body.

Watching their arrows fail to injure Jian Chen and instead result in the opposite, the desert pirates began to point their bows at the merchant entourage again.

Lily snorted at the action, she raised her hand up as soon as the arrow stopped in midair.

Lily's action made the desert robbers surprised instead of playing, they had only first seen Lily's technique, not only them but Jian Chen also reacted similarly.

Lily then flicked her finger, the previously hovering arrow suddenly aimed at the desert robbers before darting rapidly towards the them.

The desert robbers were not at all ready, so the arrows stuck right in their bodies hit the vital parts.

In an instant that only all the depleted desert robbers were left, Jian Chen smiled faintly at the action of Lily who killed them in a single swing of the hand.
