Eps. 32 — Ground Rat Demon
Jian Chen did not want to get involved from the quarrel between Lu Xuan and Shen Ling so he immediately bailed on the two, saying that he wanted to hunt for food.
“I do not know how dangerous this forest is so you should be careful and not be too far from us.” Lu Xuan advised.
Jian Chen nodded slowly before leaving to jump over the branches. Lu Xuan watched it slightly stunned. “The child, how can he move without making the slightest sound.”

“This is really strange, why so many animal tracks running..”.
Jian Chen had only stepped a few meters straight to a halt when he realized around the ground there were many traces of beasts. The footprints vary in motifs and sizes that indicate that the animals passing through this land are not one type.
In addition, Jian Chen found the plants through which this trail was broken and the tree trunks became scratched. “It looks like these animals are running away from something, they look rushed.”.
The footprints were all headed west, Jian Chen walked towards the opposite direction to find the awkward reason for these animals.
“Brother Jian, please wait a moment!”
Jian Chen turned to the source of the voice and found Miou Yue walking towards him.
“Nona Yue, you are awake?”
“A moment ago, I woke up right you were gone. After Lu Xuan and Shen Ling told you that you were looking for food, I as the Chairman came straight here as well as ensuring your safety.”
Jian Chen smiled faintly, he was not sure about it. If there was anything more dangerous, it might have been him protecting Miou Yue.
“This footprint...It looks like there is a horde of animals being chased?” Miou Yue then realized there were many footprints on the ground.
Jian Chen nodded. “They were like they were afraid of something from the south.”
Miou Yue scanned the footprints deeper, touching the level of soil that had been stepped on. “This land is a little flaccid like this swarm of animals ran a few hours ago, is this any stealth that scares them.”
Not all demons make animals afraid like this, although demons are generally meat eaters but the average demon looks for food according to its body size.

He could feel that there were many animals targeting the rabbits, there were only strange movements of the animals as if they were moving in the depths of the ground.
“Celaka-! This horde of ground rat stealth-!” Jian Chen exclaimed.
“G-Mouse horde!” Miou Yue's face turned pale as Jian Chen said that.
Ground rat stealth is a predator for stealth or other animals. Earth rats are like piranha fish in the water, they live in groups and eat whatever meat they pass no matter small or large.
This demon does have a small size but with its sharp nails and the number of which can be tens makes them more feared than even lightning wolves.
Killing them is also a difficult thing because they move in the depths of the ground, let alone animals or demons, humans will not dare to face these earth rats.
“Miss Yue you better go and tell the others to run from this area! I'll hold them off for a while.” Jian Chen turned his head to Miou Yue.
“You can't do that Brother Jian, holding back a horde of earth rats is tantamount to delivering your life!”
Jian Chen smiled faintly, even though he and Miou Yue ran together now that it was too late, they would still be overtaken despite using their inner strength though. The worst result could be that Lu Xuan, Shen Ling, and the others would be killed if not told.
At the expense of himself, Jian Chen planned for the earth rats to aim and chase after him so that the members of the Two Swords Faction could survive.
“Nona Yue there is not much time anymore, we can not survive if both run.”
Miou Yue closed her eyes for a moment before making a unanimous decision. “Then let me hold them! Brother Jian you can go and tell the others.”
Jian Chen did not have much time left to speak so he let out his powerful cultivation aura. Miou Yue was instantly shocked by the aura, although unable to read Jian Chen's cultivation he was sure his strength was far above him.
“Brother Jian, You..”.
“Miss Yue we have no time. Just relax I have no intention of sacrificing myself. I have a trick to get away from these rats.”
“Are you sure?” Seeing Jian Chen's strength, Miou Yue felt that there was a possibility that Jian Chen could survive.
“Trust me.” Jian Chen smiled calmly.
Miou Yue bit her lips. “Then I will wait for you back. Promise me you'll live and meet me..”.
After saying so Miou Yue then left as fast as he could, Jian Chen looked from a distance before the girl disappeared from his sight.
Jian Chen turned his head back at those earth rats while taking out a white fang sword. He had to stop them for a while so that he was targeted by the rats.
Jian Chen closed his eyes while inhaling a deep breath, fighting the earth rat was not an easy matter, perhaps he would have to exhaust all his profound energy to kill dozens of them.
Not long after, the earth rats were already near Jian Chen. Their eyes reddened at the sight of prey, the 3 earth rats at the very front came out from the surface of the ground then leaped up, attacking Jian Chen with their sharp hooves.
Jian Chen's gaze became sharp. He gripped his sword and then drained the energy inside. “Penetrating cloud..”.
Jian Chen swung his sword forcefully, in one slash the 3 earth rats were split into two in the air.
The earth rats did not stop even though their friend died, now more and more came out from the ground and attacked Jian Chen. Dozens of earth rats jumped up together with taking out claws.
While dodging, Jian Chen moved back slowly and occasionally gave a slash that killed some of the earth rats. Jian Chen could only cuss at the sight of so many earth rats.
As he began to feel surrounded, Jian Chen jumped onto the tree branch before landing on the other side. Jian Chen had to change the flow of their movements so as not to target Miou Yue and the others.
Jian Chen started to run, his speed was not too fast for him to be within reach of that earth rat. About two hundred meters he moved Jian Chen into a vast expanse of grass.
Jian Chen then stopped in the middle of that expanse of grass, he turned his body then faced the mountain of earth that was moving towards him.
‘Looks like this place is suitable to fight them.’ Jian Chen is a little difficult against the mole rats in the deep forest so he needs an open space.
“Alright you guys are forcing me, let's come..”.
