Light Cultivation

Light Cultivation
Eps. 327 — Overall

Jian Chen and Lily entered the mayor's residence easily, with the darkness of the night and no sound being heard making them almost undetectable by the guards.

The mayor's residence was indeed spacious with palace-like buildings, Jian Chen took a long time to meet the mayor who was either alive now or not.

"I thought the mayor's residence had been taken over by the other side..." Jian Chen sighed softly.

The guards were not city officials, they were criminals in disguise, clearly visible as Jian Chen walked on the roof of one of the rooms there was a party involving slaves.

The slaves were mostly women, they were forced to dance in front of the criminals. Some even suffered abuse.

Jian Chen clenched his teeth, his hands clenching hard. "You find the mayor, I'll take care of them for a minute."

"Huh, are you crazy, I'm not your errand boy here, I don't want to!" Lily folded her hands on her chest.

"You have to do it, when I finish them, you've found the Mayor's place." Without waiting for Lily to answer, Jian Chen immediately jumped down.

Lily cussed in annoyance, she looked furious as Jian Chen dared to tell her off but in the end the girl complied.

Jian Chen descended from the roof and joined the party without anyone knowing it. When he was already in a strategic place, the young man released a cold air aimed at the criminals.

The dancing girls looked puzzled as they saw the criminals suddenly pecking at the spot.

"If you don't want to see something terrible then get the hell out of here..." Jian Chen said quietly but his voice sounded to the end of the room. "I'm not going to tell you this twice, so go as fast as you can..."

The girls only realized Jian Chen's whereabouts when the young man spoke, only then did they find out that Jian Chen was the one who made the criminals so silent.

The girls immediately broke away and left the room, Jian Chen waited for them for a while while the criminals looked coldly sweaty realizing his body was completely immobile.

Jian Chen pulled out the asura sword from its scabbard, his gaze coldly combing the criminals in the room.

"I don't really want to dirty my hands here but your actions just make my emotions get out of control quickly." Jian Chen shook his head slowly. "Don't be afraid, I'll do this briefly."

Jian Chen released a death aura that immediately seeped into the room densely. The criminals instantly pale, fear clearly visible on their faces when ready to face death soon.

***

"Hm, I don't think they're left..." Jian Chen flicked his bloodstained sword. In the end he had killed all the criminals present in this residence.

Jian Chen was about to look for Lily but the girl came to him first. Lily was not alone, she was pulling the collar of someone's robe before throwing it right in front of Jian Chen.

"What you're doing, he's a human being, not an item." Jian Chen hurriedly helped awaken the middle-aged man.

"Hmph! You may order this Princess..." Lily snorted in annoyance, folding her hands across her chest.

Jian Chen grinned widely, he had almost forgotten that fact. Because of his emotions he did not have time to think about ordering the girl.

Lily threw out a face, it seemed like the girl was actually lashing out. For a moment Lily looked around her who had changed, there were a lot of bodies scattered. Not to mention the fishy smell began to smell pungent through the nose.

"You really are a party today..." Lily smiled thinly.

"They're inexcusable, I think it's just a coup but their crime is worse than a thief." Jian Chen sighed before glancing at the middle-aged man.

"Are you the mayor of this town?"

The middle-aged man nodded, his face so pale and frightened as he saw Jian Chen wearing a robe that had blood spots.

"Not to be afraid, I am a soldier from the Empire, I am here to be sent to erase the cases of slavery that have been rampant..." In order for the Mayor not to panic, Jian Chen deliberately exposed his gold card. "I hear you're strongly opposed to slavery, can you explain in more detail what happened."

The mayor seemed to breathe a sigh of relief when Jian Chen was from the government, though still disinclined he explained everything.

The frown on Jian Chen's forehead was further etched when he heard the Mayor speak, after his explanation was finished the young man let out a heavy sigh.

"If everything is as bad as you say, then this town is no different from an animal enclosure. To finish them off is not enough for half."

"Broker, I had many soldiers who were held by the criminals before. If you want, I'll release them and help you free the city from slavery."

"That's not necessary." Lily who replied, she pointed at Jian Chen. "Only a few people can match him in this empire, bringing your army will burden him."

Jian Chen smiled faintly, he did not refute because that was how he was.

Jian Chen then requested the locations of the slave sales centers, criminal headquarters, as well as the hitmen in this city to the mayor.

"You release your soldiers tonight and announce tomorrow the ban on slavery to the people..."

"But warriors, they'll kill me if they do it again."

Jian Chen smiled faintly. "You just do what I tell you to do, believe me tomorrow there's nothing in your way. And one thing..." Jian Chen took out a sizable pile of gold. "Free all your people from slavery with this money."

The mayor looked surprised by the money Jian Chen had put out, he nodded slowly as his gaze could not be separated from the mountain of gold.

Jian Chen immediately shot up into the sky high enough to see the Capital from above, Lily quickly caught up with him later.

"The city's too big to handle itself, are you sure you can take them out on your own?" Lily glanced at Jian Chen.

"I should still be able to do it but I don't work alone right now." Jian Chen turned his head towards Lily. "You help me, we'll finish them quickly."

Lily rolled her eyes lazily, despite the girl's reluctant look strangely obedient to Jian Chen.

*Arc 4 is the final passage in the Light God cultivation novel, Book 1. I had a little trouble determining a good ending because after all, the readers had to be satisfied when this story really ended.
