Amel opened his eyes when he heard a phone call coming in. He saw the screen of his phone, it was Devan who called. Amel picks up his phone while walking out of the hotel and sets his sights on finding Devan.

Amel smiled after seeing Devan approaching him, after which they walked towards Devan's car. Devan decides to take Amel to his apartment. He deliberately did not invite her to his house because there was his brother. He will not be free to talk seriously with Amel.

Arriving at his apartment, Devan immediately invited Amel to enter. “I'll change clothes first. You just sit here,” Devan said as he passed leaving Amel to his room.

“Iyaa, Brother,” said Amel while sitting down.

This isn't Amel's first time to Devan's apartment. Amel and Nora often go to Devan's apartment if they don't have activities. They often spend time together if they have free time.

After changing clothes, Devan walked out of his room. “You've eaten?” devan asked when he saw Amel looked dreamy.

Amel looked at Devan. “Not yet, Brother,” replied Amel weakly.

Devan walked over and sat down next to Amel. “I order a meal first, I haven't eaten either.”

“Why hasn't Brother eaten yet? It's noon already. Does Brother want to be sick like that time?” said Amel in a high tone while looking at Devan.

Devan has heartburn just like Amel because he is often late to eat. Not infrequently the stomach acid rises.

Devan was typing something on his phone. “Do not scold me. You haven't eaten either. I'm not eating” said Devan without looking at Amel.

After finishing ordering the food, Devan put his phone on the table. “What really happened with Rendi?” ask Devan without further ado.

After meeting Devan and Rendi at Amel's office. Amel has not explained details to Devan. He just said that Rendi was still alive. Amel promises to explain to Devan when Amel is off work, but not so because they actually met with Rendi at the party and it happened to misunderstand between Amel and Rendi so that made Rendi drunk heavily.

Amel then explained everything to Devan, including the events after the party and when he brought Rendi home to the hotel, even the events of the Rendi debate while at the hotel were told to Devan.

“So what will you do now?” devan asked with a serious face.

“Sorry, Brother, I cannot accept your application,” Amel said with a guilty face.

Devan turned his body slightly towards Amel. “So you decided to marry Rendi? Didn't Rendi say that she couldn't stay away from Friska? There is still Friska among you. He even prefers Friska now. Maybe in the future he will ignore you. Are you willing to have such a relationship?” Devan stopped his speech while scrutinizing Amel's face.

“Currently he dares to kill himself, it is not impossible in the future he will do the same. Friska won't let Rendi leave her, Mel. You won't be able to be with Rendi, if Rendi doesn't take a firm stand with Friska. Either way he has to sacrifice one of you.” Devan is trying to dampen his emotions that are starting to rise.

“I know Brother, but I love him very much. Even if I can't be with him. I'm ready to retreat, but still I can't accept you, brother. I don't want to make you an impingement. You deserve to be happy too, brother. I cannot give my heart to you,” Amel said with a sad face.

“I don't care if you make me an impingement. I'll take it. I'll make you forget her until you can accept me Mel. I will wait patiently. Marry me, Mel. I promise to make you happy,” Devan said with a pleading face while holding Amel's hand.

Amel's tears have already been shed. “I can't do that to you, Brother. I don't want to hurt you. I can't guarantee that I'll love you later. Please understand, Brother.”

“What if I still won't let you go?” devan asked as he looked at Amel with a cold face.

“I don't want anything else, Mel. I just love you. Don't you know, how I've been feeling to you all this time?”

Amel took his hand off Devan. “Please give you a chance, Mel. I can't just let go of you. Looking at Rendi's attitude like now that is more concerned about Friska, I don't plan to back down. He's already hurt you. I'm not gonna stay quiet, Mel. I will take you from him,” Devan said with a serious face and a determined resolve.

“I'll see mom tomorrow and propose to you right away. Just so you know, I met your mother and expressed my intention to marry you when I left town a few days ago. Your mother agreed. I actually wanted to marry you without coercion, but seeing that you insisted on rejecting me like this and chose to stay with Rendi. I had to use your mother to marry you. I know, you can't possibly refuse your mother's request to marry me.”

“Kak, please don't do this. I just think of you as my brother. I love you because you're the one who always protected me from my little one, but I can't love you, sister. Even if we marry later, there will still be no happiness in our marriage, because my heart is not for you.”

Devan threw his face to the side. “I don't care, Mel. As long as you're by my side, that's more than enough for me, so stay by my side.” Devan then stood up, “rest in the next room. I will deliver food to your room later,” Devan said as he walked to his room.

“But Brother...”

Devan ignored Amel as Amel called out to him with tears in his eyes. Devan closed the door to his room and immediately Amel's tears flowed down. Just this time Devan was acting like this to her. During this time Devan will succumb to him, whatever Amel wants will always be followed by Devan. He never wanted to impose his will on Amel.

After a few minutes, Amel decided to go to the room next to Devan's room. He was tired and could no longer think. Amel chose to lay down his body and cry under the blanket that peppered his body.

Half an hour later Devan walked into his room and put food next to the nightstand. “Eat first, I have also prepared medicine for you,” Devan said as he opened the blanket covering Amel's face.

“I am not hungry, Brother,” replied Amel in a soft voice.

“I won't let you go back to Raka's house again. Rendi must have been looking for you there. You can't take care of yourself either, you have to stay with me from now on.”

Amel turned to Devan. “You can't keep me here, Brother.”

“We'll be married in a week. I called your mother. He already agreed. I've also asked people to immediately take care of all the documents needed to register our marriage. I've asked your mother for permission so you can stay here until our wedding. We're getting married in your hometown. I have also asked people to prepare a festive wedding there. We're going to do a second reception in Singapore where all my relatives are.”

“Kak, why did you become like this? You're turning into someone else, not like the Evans sister I know." Amel's tears came back out, even though Amel's eyes were swollen, his nose reddened from crying too much, his voice was a little hoarse.

“You made me like this, Mel. Didn't I say that until he hurt you again, I would take you out of his hands. I've been patient this whole time, Mel. My patience is up now,” said Devan coldly. He then took Amel's phone which was on the nightstand. “I'll hold your phone. I don't want you to see Rendi again because you're already my future wife.”

Amel immediately wakes up from his sleep and restrains Devan who looks like he wants to leave his room. “Kak.. Don't be like this, Sister. Please give me back my phone. Brother can't seem to me. I have not agreed to marry you. You can't force me like this,” said Amel while holding Devan's hand. Tears had already flooded her already flushed cheeks.

Devan threw his phone in the bed. “You can contact your mother using my phone. I'm not letting you contact anyone now. I'll tell Raka everything so she doesn't look for you. If you can convince your mother not to marry me, I'll let you go, but if you don't, don't expect you to walk away from me. You must stay married to me.” Devan let go of Amel's hand and walked out of the room.

Amel sat on the floor and shook his head. Devan's change of attitude took Amel by surprise. He could not argue Devan's words at all.

He regretted telling Devan about the incident. Amel finds out that Devan is doing this to protect her because he doesn't want Rendi to hurt him.
