Love For Him

Love For Him
Billing Promises

Today Amel plans to meet Devan.

He wants to make sure who Devan really is. Amel walked out of his class after the break bell rang.

“Mel, where are you going?” bela asked as she saw Amel was circulating his gaze to every corner of the school.

“There is a need for a Doorbell. You go to the cafeteria first, I will follow,” cried Amel when he saw his three friends staring in wonder at him.

Amel walked to and fro looking for Devan's figure, but he didn't find it either. Amel took a quick step towards the library, when he remembered that Devan was often in the school library.

When he arrived at the library, the figure he was looking for was not found either. Only a few students were reading books and doing schoolwork. Amel walks out of the library and returns to look for Devan.

Amel felt a little annoyed because when he tried to avoid it, Devan always appeared in front of him, but when Amel was looking for him, he seemed lost to the earth. After searching for her long enough, Amel finally decided to look for her after school. He walked to the cafeteria to meet his three best friends.

After the school bell rang, Amel deliberately did not go straight out of his class because he wanted to see Devan. Devan doesn't usually go straight after school. Amel was alone in his class, his friends had gone home first. Amel walked out after waiting for a while.

He walked towards the library, but not yet until the library, Amel's steps came to a halt when he saw Devan seemed surrounded by some 12th graders. They seem to be talking about something. Amel did not dare to approach them because all the students were upperclassmen who often oppressed his underclassmen. Amel did not want to find trouble with them.

Amel decided to sit not far from where he was currently standing. He would wait until they finished talking to Devan. Amel was seen standing when he saw Devan walking away from the crowd of students. Amel then stepped quickly after Devan.

“Pak I want to talk to you briefly,” said Amel when he succeeded following Devan's steps.

Devan glanced at Amel without stopping his steps. “Speaking what?”

“Someone I want to ask you,” said Amel who continues to follow Devan.

“What?”

“Can't sir we find another place, not here.”

Devan's steps stopped when he heard Amel's words. “Talk here. Don't you like being close to me?” devan asked with a flat face.

“I'm afraid someone misunderstood Sir if we chat here.”

Devan faces Amel. “You're afraid your girlfriend misunderstood?” Devan's eyebrows raised next door.

“Not so Sir, but ...”

“I don't have much time. If you want to talk directly here. Otherwise I will go,” Devan said in a cold tone.

“I can't talk here, sir. I promise I'll talk for a minute.”

“Then just forget it. I don't want to spend my time with people who don't know me." Devan turned and walked away from Amel.

Amel feels that Devan is still angry with him because of yesterday's incident. Amel tries to chase Devan again.

“Pak wait!” yell Amel.

Devan ignored Amel's call.

Amel quickly followed Devan.

“Wait, Sir.” Devan's steps came to a halt when he saw Amel already standing in front of him.

With a lazy face Devan said, “Stop bothering me. I don't want to see your face.”

“We have to straighten out the misunderstanding yesterday,” said Amel with a breathless breath.

“Nothing needs to be straightened again. We're all clear.” Devan then passes through Amel's body which was blocking his way.

Amel turned around when he saw Devan was walking again. “Pak wait. If you really leave. I'll never talk to you again about this. I will really assume that we do not know each other,” said Amel in a loud voice.

Devan paused for a moment and turned to Amel with a flat face. “Terlarah. I don't care.” Devan turned and set his foot again, leaving Amel shocked when he heard Amel's words.

Seeing Devan who no longer ignored him, suddenly Amel's emotions rose. He set his breath first then shouted, “Pak Devan wait!”

Looks like Devan didn't make the call.

Amel began to walk again, following Devan's steps.

“Wait, Sir,” said Amel annoyed.

“Pak stop!” shouted again.

“Pak Devan!” Devan kept walking.

“Sister Evans!” There was no reaction from Devan.

“Sister Irga, I said stop!”

“What Brother plans to leave me again like I used to?” amel asked when he saw Devan had not reacted and just stood up.

Amel walked up to Devan and stood behind him. “I don't understand what you mean,” Devan said without turning his body.

“I already know, Brother. Is brother still angry with me because all this time I keep ignoring, Brother?”

Devan turned his body to face Amel. “It looks like you're wrong. My name is Devan, not Evans or Irga as you mentioned earlier.”

“Do you think I'm stupid? Then why did you stop when I called you Irga, isn't that your little name? Brother don't forget, only me and your family call you by that name because other people often call you by the name Evans which is taken from the name Devan. I already know Brother, Brother can not dodge anymore,” said Amel with a serious face.

Devan approached Amel. He stared for a moment at Amel's eyes. “How long ago did you remember me?” devan asked while looking closely at Amel's eyes.

“Aaaww, sick, Brother,” Amel said as Devan nudged his forehead. He then stared intently at Devan as he rubbed his forehead.

“You disappointed me. Who told you not to recognize me. You are still slow in thinking.”

“It wasn't my fault. That's because Big Brother's face is very different from the first.”

“Really? Is it because my face gets so handsome that you don't recognize me?” devan asked with a mischievous smile.

Amel displayed a pouting face. “Not only the face of Big Brother, but including personal Brother is different from the past. I admit that my face is a little different. Big Brother's face used to be softer, more friendly, and a little contained, look Big Brother's eyes are also different, not cold like now.”

“Many things happened to me after parting with you. That little bit changes my character now,” Devan explained with a smile.

“I'm still angry with Brother for leaving me without saying goodbye first.” Amel looked at Devan with a sullen face.

“I'm sorry. I also actually want to say goodbye to you, but can't.”

“Why? After Brother's departure, I heard all the business of the factory and plantation assistant papa Kakar who took care of it until now. What happened exactly?” amel asked curiously.

“Mama died after surgery. Papa doesn't know about my mom's pain. Mama's disease is only known when the mother suddenly fainted and fell into a coma. That's when papa just found out that mama has a malignant tumor. Mom's sudden departure made us all slump. Papa decided to move to Singapore and leave the business here to his assistant."

Devan's face looked grim, there was deep sadness in his spotlight.

“Sorry, Brother. I don't know about what happened to my mom, Brother.” Amel felt guilty.

“Nothing, it is also a long time ago.”

“Why didn't Brother tell me by mail that time?”

“It happened to me, but I undone it. I intend to visit you first to say goodbye, before I move out of the country, but papa does not allow me to go anywhere. He was afraid I would run away because I refused to come when Papa asked me to move. I had no other choice at the time. Papa forced me. Even after I got there all my documents were withheld by my father so I wouldn't run away here. I was so depressed back then, I had already lost my mom and also had to stay away from you.”

Amel came forward and hugged Devan's body when he saw Devan's teary eyes. “I'm sorry, Brother. I didn't know that my brother was suffering at the time. I foolishly hated Brother for just disappearing. In fact, in the past Brother was always beside me whenever I had a problem.”

Without them noticing there was a pair of eyes that were watching them from a distance even capturing their image while hugging.

Amel then let go of her embrace. “Then I will be nice with Brother from now on,” said Amel smiling widely.

“You even ignored me many times.”

“I'm sorry, Lak, it's because I don't know whose brother. If I had known from the beginning, I wouldn't have acted that way to you.”

“Is it because you're afraid your boyfriend is jealous?”

“That's one of them, but I don't like being close to people I don't know very well,” Amel explained.

“You broke a promise you made yourself Mel,” Devan said staring at Amel with a serious face.

“What promise?”

"You said we can't have boyfriends until we grow up. You forbid me to be near anyone other than you, and vice versa. You used to be afraid I'd leave you if I was close to someone else. Maybe you've forgotten it because it's been a long time."

“Really? Why don't I remember?”

"You even promised to marry me someday. You forbid me to marry anyone other than you.”

"No, you must be lying, right?" amel asked with a surprised face.

“If you don't believe me, you can ask your family because when I say that when your family and my family are gathering in vayak. They all heard it, even my mama supported you back then to match you up with me. You made that promise yourself, Mel, not me." Devan smiled meaningfully.

“Big brother couldn't have taken my words seriously back then, right?” Amel smiled stiffly.

“Instead I come now to collect your promise,” Devan said with a serious face.

Seriate.
