“That guy's name is Evans. We used to be very close, but because of something we became separated and never met again. She's like a sister to me.”
“Why do you have so many brothers? raka used to be, now there's Evans, actually how many boys do you consider big brother?”
“No more Brother. Just Raka and Evans. Nothing else, but, if it's true he's brother Evans there's no way I don't know him.”
“What if he's the one you mean? Aren't you going to stay away from him?”
“There's no way I can stay away from him, brother. I owe him my life. Brother remember? when I told you, I drowned in the river! if it wasn't for him, maybe I would have been swept away by the current, maybe I wouldn't have been in this world. He also often defended me when I was bullied by others. Even he often fights with other children, when there are those who make fun of and insult me. My family also owes a debt of gratitude to the Evans family, because his family helped my family a lot first.”
Rendi looked silent when she heard Amel's words, she was suddenly overwhelmed with a feeling of uneasiness. Rendi lowered her head down while shaking her head then sighed.
”If indeed that teacher is the person you are referring to. I don't know what else to act like? how can I compete with your closest people who come from your mass.”
Even now I have to compete with your two older brothers, Raka and Evans, Rendi's inner self.
“Sister no need to worry! nothing will change with our relationship. My sister will still be my girlfriend. I just need to make sure if it's true that she's Evans' sister or not, I don't know Evans' full name, but I knew her nickname when she was little, only my family and his family called him by his little name.”
“You said, you guys are so close, how can you not know his full name?”
“Because I never asked him, he never mentioned his full name. Actually he's not from my village, his family has a plantation and a tea factory that is not far from my house. Because all the tea plantations that are there belong to the Evans family, so the average resident there works with his family, including my family. My grandfather was a confidant of Evans' family. That's why my family with Evans's family is close. Every weekend break, Mr. Evans would go to my village to see me, because he lives in Jakarta so we can't meet every day."
Amel gave a moment's pause. "Until one day, he suddenly disappeared. No word from him. His family never came to my village again. I heard that all the business of the factory and the tea garden was taken care of by his father's assistant. Since then, I have never seen him again. I thought maybe he had forgotten me,” explained Amel as he was forcefully shocked.
“Do you hope to see him again?” Rendi felt uneasy when she saw the streak of sadness plastered clearly on Amel's face, as she told about Evans.
“I don't know either, I was very angry with him for leaving me without saying goodbye, but he knew that I depended on him very much first. He always took care of me from the people who bullied me.”
“Did you suffer so much when you were a child?”
“People often make fun of me for not having a father, even brother Evans once beat a boy to death for insulting me, as a child picked up from the trash. Sometimes I envy seeing other people who have a complete family, every time there is an event at school that requires you to come, you must ask your uncle to represent, sometimes you come. My mother was also often looked down upon by others." Amel's voice trembled slightly.
"I also often saw my mother secretly crying because of other people's insults towards me and my family. Mom always looks tough in front of me. Maybe he doesn't want me to be sad. If it wasn't for the help of Evans' family, maybe my family wouldn't be what it is today. We used to be very difficult,” said Amel with a trembling voice because he held back his tears.
Rendi clasped Amel's hand when she saw Amel's eyes were already glazed. “Why haven't you told me before?”
Amel raised his head up for a moment, preventing his tears from falling. “That's just the massalu Brother, there's no point telling it.”
“But I want to know how your life was before meeting me,” said Rendi looking seriously at Amel's face.
Amel smiled a little. "Alright. later I tell it later, not now, because soon the doorbell will sound.”
Rendi nodded. “OK, from now on I'll replace him to take care of you, I won't let anyone insult you let alone hurt you, you have to tell me whatever your problem is. You can't keep anything secret to me!”
“Iyaa sis,” Amel smiled warmly to Rendi.
After the entrance bell rang, Rendi walked towards her class after delivering Amel.

The day goes on. It has been 3 weeks since Rendi decided to go back to school. Every day during the break, Amel always ate with Rendi and went home with her.
Devan is also seen still avoiding Amel. He never spoke to Amel again. At first Amel felt a little something stuck in his heart, but for a long time he got used to it. Rendi's presence made her forget Devan's strange demeanor.
The days passed by Amel and Rendo happily. Just a little bit of a nuisance at school from people who don't like Amel. Because Rendi was always with Amel at school. Siska had no chance to get close to Rendi anymore. Sometimes he wants to hit Amel, but Rendi always protects Amel.
Today Rendi berecana invites Amel to eat at one of the famous restaurants in the city center that she has often visited with Amel after school. "What do you want to eat, Mel?"
"Black Angus Sirloin, Brother."
Rendi laughed a little. "Aren't you tired of eating it every time you come here?"
"No. It was my favorite food. Brother must continue to eat my favorite food so as not to forget me," joked Amel.
"Where might I forget you Mel. We like to forget about me." Rendi pretended to display her pouting face.
"No. This handsome boyfriend period I've missed."
"Sister, I haven't seen Friska in a long time, where is she going?" Friska used to go to Rendi's house a lot when Amel was there, but it's been 2 weeks that she's never met Friska.
"He's back in Germany. Maybe he'll come back here in a moment" replied Rendi indifferently.
"Don't talk about him."
Amel smiling. "Where are we going?"
"Go home, yeah. I have many tasks."
Arriving at Rendi's house, Amel headed to Sofi's room, while Rendi was busy with her schoolwork. She accidentally goes to Sofi's room for not bothering Rendi.
"Sister. Tomorrow night stay here dong. The day after tomorrow is a holiday. My sister never lived here. Go to bed with Sofi."
Amel thought for a moment. "But you don't feel good about staying here?"
"Not good why?"
"Not good for your parents." Every day Amel always went to the house of Rendi because it was forced by Rendi. Actually she was embarrassed by Rendi's mother for always coming to her house.
"Not good why? Mama is happy that she is here because she is a rame. Mama used to say the same Sofi told Sister to stay here."
"Yes, but I still don't feel good about Sofi."
"Pleaaasee dong Kak's. We'll have a barbeque show in the backyard by the pool. It must be exciting," proposed Sofi.
"Ayoooolah Kak," Sofi again persuaded with a pleading face.
After holding on for a while, Amel finally agreed. "Okee deh."
Sofi immediately cheered happily after hearing Amel's reply. "Tomorrow to go home from school straight here, sister?"
"Yes." Yeah."

“We want to do kak?” asked Amel when they had entered the lobby of one of the largest malls in Jakarta. Their school was picked up by Mr. Iyan.
“I want to take an item that I have ordered,” said Rendi who still pulled Amel's hand.
Amel didn't ask much more. He just followed where Rendi took him. Rendi went straight to the 3rd floor and entered a store with a famous clothing brand.
“Kakak want to buy clothes?” Amel looked at Rendi's face which seemed to circulate his gaze throughout the store.
“Hhmm,” Mumbles Joints. She took a few sets of clothes, she then handed them to Amel “You try first all these clothes ” pinta Rendi.
“Where are you going?” amel asked when he saw that Rendi would come out of the store.
Rendi turned her body slightly upon hearing Amel's question. “I need a moment, you wait here, don't go anywhere.” Rendi walked after she finished speaking.
Seeing that Rendi had left the store, Amel also walked to the dressing room to try on the clothes given by Rendi earlier. When Amel was done trying on all the clothes, Amel came out of the dressing room. He circulated his gaze looking for the figure of Rendi, but Amel did not find it.
“Do these clothes want to be paid directly?” asked the store clerk who was standing next to him, when he saw Amel looking confused.
Amel smiled awkwardly. “Later mbak, I again wait for someone,” replied Amel was not happy, to be honest, he did not have the money to pay for the clothes. He even made a stomachache when he saw the price tag earlier.
The employee's face looked sour after hearing Amel's words. He looked down at Amel. Like judging Amel's appearance. Amel who was stared at like that felt uneasy. He knew that the clerk in front of him must have thought that he would not be able to pay for the clothes.
The shopkeeper immediately left Amel after he finished looking at her earlier. He appeared to be approaching several other shop employees. They seemed to be whispering while throwing dismissive gazes at Amel.
Amel just kept quiet and pretended not to see. Because Rendi did not come, Amel finally decided to leave the store and wait for him not far from the store.
“Sorry mbak, I did not buy this shirt,” said Amel with a bad face while approaching the employee and handed over the tried clothes earlier.
Instantly the shop clerk immediately took his clothes a little rough, then turned to leave Amel with a sour face.
“Not told you from earlier. Should be before going to the dressing room, see the price first.where it has been tried all over again, make this shirt dirty,” grumbled the store employee. Amel was silent when he heard the words of the store clerk.
“Why are you standing there?” Amel turned his head after hearing the voice of Rendi coming from behind him.
