Devan looked down, looking down
talking on the phone. His face occasionally
smiled forcefully and after that it turned cloudy.
From the living room, Friska watches Devan's facial changes closely, trying to guess who he is talking to and what he is talking about making his face look sad.
Friska watched with a serious face as the terrace wondered what Devan was thinking at the moment. "What are you thinking, why
you're looking at me like that?"
Friska did not realize that Devan was right in front of her with a very close distance. Friska's face flushed red, slowly rewinding her body backwards to give a little distance for the two of them. Devan often surprises him suddenly.
"I-I'm not looking at you" said Friska nervously, "I'm looking out the window" elak Friska. He boldly looked at Devan and looked at each other for a while.
Devan stood up straight after bowing before Friska who was sitting on the sofa. "We're not going to Germany" Devan said, sitting next to Friska.
Friska changed her seat to face Devan. "Why not be?" There was a tinge of disappointment in Friska's tone of speech. It seemed like he had been waiting for that moment to see Rendi. It's been over a month that he hasn't communicated with Rendi.
Devan looked down after that staring at Friska with a flat face. "Their perception is canceled."
Friska reexamined Devan's face as it turned grim again, she wanted to know the reason why Devan's face changed when talking about Rendi and Amel's wedding reception being abruptly canceled.
Friska's curiosity instantly appeared. "Why cancelled? Friska caught a glimpse of the sorrowful look in Devan's gaze as she asked the reason for Rendi and Amel's cancellation.
Devan was silent for a moment, before answering the question posed by Friska. "Amel is pregnant, so she should not take air travel before entering the second trimester of pregnancy" Devan said.
"Did that call you Amel?" guess Friska.
Devan only muttered as he nodded softly in response to Friska's question. It's obvious why Devan's face changed after getting a call from someone.
Finally, Friska knew that it was Amel, the woman who became her first love in her childhood, was still the only woman in Devan's heart.
"Do you still love her and can't forget her?" ask Friska carefully. I don't know when he started caring about Devan's personal life.
Devan did not answer but instead threw the same question. "What about you? Do you still love Rendi?" the unreadable gaze was captured by Friska.
The question that is difficult to answer, actually Friska also does not know, whether she still retains a sense of Rendi or not.
After going to Singapore and staying
together with Devan, he never again exchanged news with Rendi. He locked himself in more rooms. He never came out if not forced by Devan.
In the room, he daydreamed more. Even his parents had only visited him once to Singapore with Kenan. It was also because of work. Friska's parents did not care about her much, they were busy working and forgot to pay attention to Friska.
Friska has always felt that her parents did not care about her. Lucky since little old man Rendi was so good to him that he wasn't too lonely.
His days were many he was with Rendi and Kila. And, when Kila died, Rendi was the only place to share. When they lost Kila, they both tried to rearrange their lives. Although they were trained, the two of them supported each other.
During his stay in Singapiore, Friska visited a psychiatrist several times because
Slowly, Friska could return
live a normal life like everyone else. After his departure with Devan to
Singapore, Friska lived in Devan's apartment for a while.
Because Devan's apartment is located on a high enough floor, Devan decides to move to his parents' house for fear that Friska will try to kill herself by jumping from her apartment. Friska's unstable condition made Devan feel worried.
Devan finally decided to
living with his family. At first, his father was against it, but after telling him about Friska's condition, his father agreed.
Asked about her feelings for Rendi, Friska thought for a moment before smiling widely. "It seems I still love him. You must think I'm a fool because even now I haven't been able to forget."
Friska smiled like a fool, she was laughing at herself who was very weak in terms of feelings.
Devan hasn't said anything in a long time. "Loving someone is not stupidity, but imposing our feelings on someone who does not love us, then it can be said to be stupid. Why fight and survive for the sake of people who clearly love others" Devan said,
"To give up something is not because we give up, but to understand that there are things that cannot be forced. Sometimes, the best thing you can do for someone you love is to let go. God put someone in your life for a reason. And, if you lose it, then it's for a better reason" Devan continued,
"in the end, someone who survives must give up something that is not for him. Happiness doesn't come from just one person. It could be, your soul mate is walking towards you. Someone who will give you happiness beyond your past and present happiness."
Devan looked seriously at Friska. "Take off Rendi, Friska. I'm not asking you to forget it, because after all the memories of someone can't be forgotten just like that in a matter of months or even years. It took a long time for that. Sincere is not only a matter of letting go, but a condition in which we release without any burden in the heart. One day you will understand that giving up a memory is the beginning of happiness that you will."
Friska seemed to think through all Devan's words. "Loving is about letting go, if you haven't been able to see him happy for a reason other than you. Then, try to correct the way you love him first" Devan added.
Friska looked down while thinking. After pondering for quite a while, he raised his head. "I love her so wrong that it overcame my logic and blinded my heart. Loving her excessively and wanting to be whole without ever thinking how she really feels."
Devan holds Friska's shoulder. "Don't overdo it in loving someone, if you don't want to feel excruciating pain, let alone the person doesn't have the same feelings as you. In the end, you'll only hurt yourself."
Friska looked at Devan's face with a curious look. "Devan, you are a good man, handsome, rich, your personality is good, you also have a big heart and a big soul. Everything inside you is perfect. Amel should be able to see all the good things in you because you've gotten each other from childhood, but why doesn't Amel love you?"
Devan sneered at Friska. "That question you should be able to answer for yourself because you love Rendi too. Why would Amel prefer Rendi over me, because you know."
"I don't know because I knew Rendi first, different from Amel who already knew you first. Maybe if I knew you first, I'd fall in love with you, not with Rendi." The answer from Friska was unexpected by Devan.
"really? Are you getting fascinated by me?" devan Goda.
"I think there are a lot of women who are fascinated by you, including Stefani who often sticks to you."
Stefani is Devan's college friend, who used to be a close friend of Devan's during his stay in Singapore.
Devan laughed a little. "Go ahead, don't talk about him anymore. Get ready, dress modestly. We'll leave when you're ready" Devan said, standing up.
Friska raised her head. "Where are we going?"
"We're going to eat out, accompany me to meet my business partner."
Seriate....
