After Rajasa died, Edelweis left Malika to Ryan. While he makes fried bananas and coffee.
Malika likes Ryan. His laughter and chattering filled the room.
Edelweis put the fried banana and coffee on the table. Raised his hand on Malika.
"Eat and drink first. Let me hold Malika. He seems to like you a lot." Edelweis.
"Maybe it's because we're bestie." Ryan laughed as he handed Malika over to Edelweis.
Ryan sipped his coffee and took a sip, "Feed once his coffee."
"Your favorite gayo coffee."
"fast. Reminds me of the Aceh forest."
"She's very busy."
"You're just the two of you with Malika. With your household assistant?"
Edelweis nodded his head.
"He worked hard for you and Malika."
"Yes, I know. But I also want him to be like you."
"Don't like to compare people."
"I don't mean to compare. Is it wrong for me to want that?"
"No. But you can't compare like that. I'll find someone who can help you take turns to look after Malika. Maybe you're also looking after your son while working."
"I can't work like I used to. Although someone helped me look after Malika. My job takes a lot of time and attention."
"I'll work as an editor. You want to be a journalist. How about you write while keeping Malika?"
Edelweis looked at Ryan in amazement, "You are so brilliant and kind."
Ryan chuckled at the words of Edelweis.
"Not to overdo it."
"I'm not overdoing it but you can take my problems for granted. I really want to be a journalist. Not secretary. My studies in journalism aren't secretaries."
"Freelancer only. No need to hold the column. It will take up a lot of your time. You must be troubled and unable to enjoy your routine. Chased deadline. So you can work on it while keeping Malika. Work in between your free time. How's it?"
"Yeah, Ryan! I feel like your idea is really good."
"I can't help you much."
"You look after Malika. Looking for someone who can help me look after Malika. Give me a job I can do in my spare time. Which delights do you deny?"
Ryan chuckled,"It's my pleasure…."
"I sometimes think what makes you so understanding?"
"I just want to see you happy. That's all."
"Why are you so nice? Care so much about me?"
"Because you're my best friend. I've looked at you like my own sister."
"Why can't Rajasa be like you?"
"The Birth of Malika. Our relationship has changed. He's getting busy. I'm estranged with Malika."
"Rajasa also wants the best for you. Especially he's your husband. Must be more attention than anyone. He worked harder for you and Malika. Not everyone can be close to a young child especially if they are too busy working. More able to face his job. They usually cannot take care of their children. Everything has less. Can't be compared. You can ask someone who can help you take care of your child. Find a way out that is more in accordance with your condition. Compared to imposing circumstances. Most importantly, your problem can be solved well."
"I feel Rajasa is getting further away." The eyes of Edelweis.
"Your hormones are unstable. Don't think too much. You're just weighing on your own mind. Hurting yourself. Your husband's just busy working for you two. Not intentionally leaving you two. Or don't want to be with you both."
"His consolation work? Not me and Malika?"
"Work is his duty and responsibility. No husband will intentionally sink himself into work except for the burden of responsibility and obligation to be fulfilled."
"Would you get married. You're gonna be like Rajasa, too? Work harder for your wife and kids until you feel alien to them?"
"Whatchu mean? I'm not married yet. If I had to work harder. Maybe I'm the same as Rajasa or maybe even harder. Or maybe I work out of town. Leave the country if I need more money . Maybe I'm looking for a job away from home with a bigger payoff?" Said Ryan.
"I just feel like marriage also needs more connected togetherness and communication." Sahut Edelweiss.
"If your husband doesn't understand you, that doesn't mean he doesn't love you. Everyone's love language is not the same. Some with attention and understanding. Very comfortable communication. Protects. Money and material."
"You mean Rajasa's love language, money and materials?"
"Protect, money and material." Said Ryan.
"Maybe it's the easiest to see but what about togetherness, understanding and attention? Comfortable communication?" Ask Edelweis.
"Every human being wants perfection and that's plural. But the problem is often we have to accept something with more or less everything. You're married to him. Then of course you have to accept your husband as he is. And vice versa." Ryan Sahut.
"Why aren't you married?" Ask Edelweis.
"What kind of question is that?" Ryan laughed.
"Why can't I know why?"
"What's the point of me answering? I haven't found my soul mate. As simple as that. If I had found my soul mate. I must be married."
"Isn't it because you're afraid of being stuck in a marriage? Lost your freedom?"
"God! You think your husband is stuck in your marriage?"
"I don't know. Could be, right? Moreover, Rajasa really likes to chase beautiful women. Marriage is monotonous and boring. There's only responsibility and obligation in it."
"I thought Rajasa had changed before marrying you. Or maybe since I met you. I don't know but he's not who you say he is. Don't be so jealous of him. Especially blind jealousy. Not very good and without any evidence at all. I know, not all marriages go according to expectations. There may be changes that some people may fear. Like you said. Feeling trapped. Fear of losing their freedom. But I thought getting married was a fitrah. Everyone who has found their soul mate must be married. If they were meant to be together forever. They will not be separated unless death do them part. But if they weren't meant to be together forever. Maybe they got divorced. Being married or polygamous after divorce. Or not remarry after divorce."
"What do you want to say?"
"No one can know the length of a person's soul mate. Not married, single. Married, divorced, polygamous or widowed/young. It is a choice according to the consideration of the situation. Just go through something as good as we can."
"Do you feel like you've lost your old job?"
"Sure! I love the forest and work there. But I was also bored with the pressure of his work. Or I might get bored with the job. I don't know."
"There's no way you're bored with the job but there might be something that makes you confused and uncomfortable."
"As I said. Intervention work. It makes me feel free and disturbed."
"Often it's not his job but the environment or the discomfort outside the job itself."
"Yeah!"
